This is my daily treat while I work up in Williams. Cannot go wrong with getting a soft serve cone. The girls who work there are also very nice and very fast to give you your orders. It is also nostalgic as I remember going to Dairy Queen when I was younger and lived in California. I didn't get pics of the food I also get on occasions but I must recommend you try their burgers and my favorite, the grilled chicken sandwich. Substitute fries for onion rings if you are like me. They also are able to make regular Pepsi into cherry Pepsi by adding bits of cherries they use for sundaes into the soda. They have outdoor seating on the famous Route 66. First off, the cute girl taking our order told us that this Dairy Queen was built in 1963. It was so much fun to see the cute little building. It brought back memories! Second, the girls working there were so sweet. They were friendly, patient, and hard-working. You could tell they took pride in their work. They were careful to get our order just right for our burgers. Third, the food was excellent--better than any Dairy Queen I have been to in a long time--and the burgers were hot with crispy, toasted buns. The burgers actually were the same size as the buns. This DQ is a nice one! It has more options than the typical DQ's! There's a freezer-full of ice cream cakes, twist soft serve, & cookie crumble-dipped cone, in addition to the shakes, cones, & blizzards! It's not a fancy place, but functional with friendly staff. They add extra large sized blizzard in addition to the regular sizes. Kids & hubby got large blizzards that were filled past the top rim concentrates with candies. At first everything was good. I paid for shakes to be picked up after my kids finished their burgers and fries . The girl who took our order was very friendly and patient with us . After my children finished their meals, I went back inside to get their shakes ... Well the first girl who took our order had left, and the other cashier freaked out, then this "manager" came out , she was a total B . Then I had to wait until they could prove I paid for the shakes . The other ordeal was that my bigger daughter wanted and orange shake , so I told them to make it and I'd let the little one taste it to see if that was the flavor she wanted . "We can't give you a shake to try!" They told me . Soni had to explain again like 2 times before they understood. We usually go to this spot every time we are in Williams . Had the "chicken nuggets " since they do not have strips . They were awful. Tasted like fried in fish oil. The meat/chicken was terrible.

I've been here 6 years ago and everything as far as set-up and looks are still the same. The prices have gone up, but that's always expected. Stopped at Dairy Queen while passing through town and had a great experience! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. The town itself had a really cool vibe -- it actually reminded me of the movie Cars with its charming, small-town feel. We ordered the Jr. Burger with pepper jack cheese and jalapeños, and it was absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of heat from the peppers. Stopped by DQ in Williams AZ on Route 66. It was a cute vintage style location, I totally got barn yard feels. We ordered the double burger, chili cheese dog, grape slush, and the smores shake. Went here with five children and the service was exceptional. One child had difficulty explaining which ice cream item he wanted and the patience and assistance every single employee gave was way above and beyond. Another child had a baby cone ordered for her and was disappointed with its size; the manger quickly put an extra dollop on it and all was well with the five year old's world. I like ice cream, and visiting the DQ in these small towns is a lark that we enjoy on our road trips across the US. Visiting Williams a few times a year, generally as a "just passing through" sort of place, this old-school Dairy Queen is one of the last of the vintage stores; that is, small, non ADA, and anything but modern in their design. Part of the charm. The kids wanted blizzards on the long drive home from Moab, so we ducked in here for something cold and sweet. I parked and walked in with Mrs. Picante, to find three teen employees, not a mask among them. Not here for a haircut, I thought, and ordered up the kids' treats. I can only imagine the consummate joy that must come from being a disgruntled, disaffected shake-slinger in sleepy little Williams, so I wasn't all that surprised by the dead-eyed, vapid stares of the three dollies on the other side of the counter. That same flat affect went into the mediocre amount of goodies they put in the Blizzards, but you know... ice cream is ice cream, and the kids probably didn't know any better anyway. Credit card readers were down throughout the town, so I can't blame the employees for that. I pitched the young lady a twenty, and she short of just looked at me disgusted. I thought about saying something decidedly Gen-X-ish to this dauntless little thing, but instead just tipped my cap and wished her and her friends a very nice rest of the day. Of course we'll be back... it's freaking Dairy Queen. But honestly, they're closed for the season when we breeze into Williams for the Polar Express train in November, and since COVID has pretty much shut that down now too... it might be a spell before we head back to the Arizona highlands for some good-time service from the local high school cheer-squad B team. read more

Recently went by this location to give it another shot and 6 years later the place is sooo much better. The cones were great and the shake was even better. The customer service was 5 star and the store was not only fully staffed but when a large group walked in everyone jumped into action and was happy to help! I'm happy to say I highly recommend this location now! read more

We came in here earlier today because we were craving for ice cream, Bengimen B. was snippy! He was the only rude person we've ran into during our entire trip, but our blizzards, shake and onion ring were delicious and perfect for a quick snack before we headed back home. Social distancing was being practiced in here and addition, to the orders being implemented, there was no inside seating. They had a few chairs and tables outside for customers, they are pretty smart to put the only Ice Cream parlor in the middle of the mountains. read more

The food and service here are always great, although the parking situation is a little awkward if you have to wait on your food.

Do not go to this place. This isn't a regular DQ. The menu is not a dq menu. It seems to be ran by teenage girls. Our 3 burgers were hard and cold not even edible, 3 fries hard and cold . 1 blizzard had hair in it. The only warm food we had was onion rings. $42 for crap food this place should be shut down. We once had a D Q in Bakersfield, but no more. This place was very close to our hotel so we ate here one evening while out walking. We went in with our masks and ordered our food, a grilled cheese, and a chili cheese dog. The teenyboppers running the joint had no masks but whatever. What I found odd was that as soon as we ordered and paid, they "Shooed" us out of there like so many annoying flies as if they gave a shit about the Covid19. I stopped here today. Paid for one jr burger meal, medium shake, one 1/4lb burger meal, medium shake I was told to pull over to the blue curb. We waited 30 minutes, I went in, and evidently there had been a shift change and our order was lost. We waited another 35 minutes for our food. She brought our food out, our shakes were melted by now, when we asked about it, the girl made funny eyes and walked off. This was absolutely unacceptable. What horrible customer service today. I am worried for the employees safety here, as well as the public. While there was a sign at the door due to the Covid epidemic that only one party could go inside at a time to order, none of the employees wore a face mask or gloves. I understand that there aren't many cases in Williams, but with the tourists coming from all over I don't think this is safe for everyone's heath. Anyone could be a COVID carrier and not know it. Cheese crisp =1 tortilla with melted cheese. Dry and hard around the edges and not even cut. Mexican pizza just like the cheese crisp but with lots of onions and a little ground beef. Cute, peaceful town. Dairy Queen is close to Safeway. It could be a little slow as there are many people who are trying to get their Dairy Queen fix before heading into Grand Canyon National Park. We were close to Williams, after a morning of hiking, with our dog. We were hungry, and we figured DQ would be ok, as we could sit outside. Burgers, fries, and onion rings were ordered. The food was excellent for fast food. The burgers were loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion, on a fresh bun. Shoestring fries were good, and the onion rings (frozen) were fried just right.
