Good selection of snacks and drinks. Also pretty good gas prices. Would recommend if you're looking for a hood gas station/snack stop.

Is this an overnight truck stop?

No. This is not like a Flying J's or Love's where they have shower and bed facilities. It's more like a mini Buc-ees.

And I am here to tell you: none of them -- not one -- prepared me for this place. Let's start with the Governor taco. I don't know how to explain what happened to me. One bite and my entire life reorganized itself into "before" and "after." My only regret in this world is that I ordered ONE. Learn from my mistake. Order three. Order four. Then the horchata. One sip and the whole table caved -- everyone ordered one. It's that good. I've already mentally committed to drinking three more before we leave. And the beans deserve their own paragraph. My wife has appointed herself their unofficial spokesperson and is now aggressively recommending them to strangers. I support this campaign fully.

Great decor and nice ambiance. Large TVs screens to watch the game. It's a great little hang out spot. We were greeted and seated promptly. Chips and salsa aren't complimentary. My youngest opted for the supreme nachos. My oldest and I decided on the taco combo plate. The menu makes it seem like you're limited to certain types of tacos, but our server informed us that's not the case. I went with the Al pastor which was incredible and the carne asada, which was also good. Rice and beans were on point and I loved the salsa they brought out with the food--a verde an a roja, both were excellent. Everything was so good! It was the perfect send off for us as we made our journey home.

I asked for coffee and she handed me a menu and she asked if I knew what I wanted to eat. I said I needed some time to look at the menu and she frowned and walked away without saying a word. It was obvious she thought I was going to be there a while and didn't want me sitting at the table long. She returned with the coffee and said "You know if it gets busy...." leaving the sentence hanging. I replied I would leave if it did (the restaurant only had maybe 3 tables full at that point, by the time I left at 640 there were two tables empty). After eating the food, which was quite good, I promptly packed up and left as soon as I could 25 minutes after being seated. I walked down to Brewed Awakenings, got a coffee there and sat down at my computer to do some work. In a small restaurant I totally understand that you need to keep tables moving so there is not a wait, but there is a polite and subtle way to message to a patron that they need to move along so other folks can sit down. You can deliver the check early, ask if you are finished, ask if there is anything else you need. Ways to communicate to a patron that they need the table. This was certainly not it. I eat out often, I tip very well, but I have to say this is the first time I felt unwelcome and rushed at a place in a very, very long time. While the food was good, this was not the way to start off day 2 of my roadtrip. In today's economy, making your customers feel like they need to eat and run, and doing so in a rude way, is a master class in how to make your restaurant fail. I do not recommend this place.

It is also nostalgic as I remember going to Dairy Queen when I was younger and lived in California. I didn't get pics of the food I also get on occasions but I must recommend you try their burgers and my favorite, the grilled chicken sandwich. Substitute fries for onion rings if you are like me. They also are able to make regular Pepsi into cherry Pepsi by adding bits of cherries they use for sundaes into the soda. They have outdoor seating on the famous Route 66. Will see them again and again and again.

Second, the girls working there were so sweet. They were friendly, patient, and hard-working. You could tell they took pride in their work. They were careful to get our order just right for our burgers. Third, the food was excellent--better than any Dairy Queen I have been to in a long time--and the burgers were hot with crispy, toasted buns. The burgers actually were the same size as the buns. I wish all Dairy Queens tried this hard to please their customers. Oh, and we shared an ultimate chocolate brownie Blizzard! Yummy!

My family does not visit Subway often, so we were simply answering questions as they were asked and trying to work through the ordering process. Instead of being guided through the order, we were met with impatience at nearly every step. When I realized I had forgotten to select cheese after my sandwich had been placed in the oven, the employee became visibly frustrated and scolded me for not mentioning it earlier. When I mentioned lettuce, I was sharply told to wait until we got to that part of the order. Throughout the interaction, every hesitation seemed to be met with irritation. The employee's tone, facial expressions, and overall attitude made it clear that we were inconveniencing her simply by ordering. The experience became so uncomfortable that I eventually stopped trying to customize my sandwich and completed the order without even choosing a sauce because I just wanted the interaction to end. What bothered me most was seeing the effect it had on my son. He is naturally shy around strangers, and by the end of the order he was visibly uncomfortable, avoiding eye contact, and clearly embarrassed by the way we were being treated. The food was fine. The customer service was not. As travelers passing through town, we expected a normal sandwich order. Instead, we left feeling rushed, unwelcome, and embarrassed.
