A real disappointment! We were craving DQ creamy ice cream and it wasn't creamy at all--more like frozen ice milk!

I don't live in the US anymore, but passing through Tomah, we all wanted to have a DQ. This place was clean and the staff were great. What made me want to give this place a 5 star review was the fact that I had ordered a kids meal for my son - and he wanted an ice cream afterwards. I had no idea that the meals came with an ice cream, but the woman working told me I could find a coupon for his ice cream in his meal bag. Result! She easily could have said nothing and I'd have been none the wiser. I had an amazing blizzard by the way. Maybe next time I'm passing through Tomah on 90/94, I'll come back. read more

These people are jerks. My 17 year old who is pregnant went in there because the pool stopped selling drinks and it was 90+ degrees. The old man at the counter not only shamed her for her swimming suit, refused to serve her, then also shamed her for being pregnant. This place sucked when I lived there about 5 years back too. How this place is still in business with the way they treat people is beyond me. It needs to be shut down or new management needs to take over. People should just stop going. With as disgusting as some of those people look who knows how clean they are making our food honestly. read more

Ice cream delicious, service was a bust! First, the price she charged me was $.59 more than the price posted on the board ( next to the cash register). I pointed this out to her and asked how come? She ignored me, turned to the guy filling a drive up order and said " we forgot to change the board pricing ". But then just looked at me, like so what! I paid her price and waited at that spot, no one else at counter. Second, she filled an order for drive up and then did my medium cone. Instead of turning to hand me the cone, she went to the other side of the counter, set the cone down and said something, I assumed it was my number or something like that, I couldn't hear it. She then walked away! My first time at this DQ, ( and my last ), there were no signs telling where to order or pickup and the price being charged was not as published ( next to the cash register) ! Now what would you think? Only can say the ice cream was good, as DQ typically does. Service was much less than expected. Will go to McD's on the other side of town next week when I go through town again! read more

I ordered an m&m blizzard and when he handed it to me it was very chocolately. I forgot they put chocolate syrup in them. I told the cashier that I forgot you put chocolate syrup in them and if he could please make another without. He said he would have to ask his manager. He came back and said that I would have to pay for another one. I asked to speak to his manager in person. The manager told me that I would need to pay for another one cause I didn't tell them I didn't want chocolate syrup. I him that was bad customer service and replied he was not gonna remake and lose money. He should not be a manger and I wish I would of got his name I would definitely be including it in this complaint!! I will take my business to McDonald's or Culver's from now. read more

I have run DQ stores as a manager. This place WAS good at one time. Now it is THE place to avoid. The previous owner cared about it and was always on the scene keeping it up, thanking the customers, making sure they got good service. I don't know who he sold it to but they don't care and shouldn't be allowed to run a restaurant. The blizzards are soupy, their chili dogs, he used to have special ones delivered, well now they're micro-thin bulk-pack hotdogs with watered down pre-mix chili, I think... All the staff are or at least act like they are below 20. Mr. Poofy hair doesn't wear a hair net and mixes up the order every time. The rude, self-important cook refuses to mark the bags on large group orders, so you don't know what's what until you bite into it. You have to ask for a straw or a lid or a napkin. Nobody's smiling. Everyone's rude. If you watch the reflections you can see them sitting back in the office eating and drinking instead of cleaning up or checking on the customers. The outside has really gotten trashy. They go out and smoke by where they store their dry goods. Don't park in their parking lot if you have an old-style antenna because they go out there on their breaks and flip them like catapults, bending them or breaking them. Their burgers... No. Just no. Oh, and did I mention their prices? Well, if you get stupid and go there, you'll figure those out too. Bring some pepto. read more

I Bought 2 blizzards at the Store one Peanut butter Cup & one Butterfinger and then got no peanut butter cup just plan ice-cream only?? I tried to get the correct one and the lady was rude and told me I ordered a plain one and got what I ordered so would not do anything for me???? Great ice cream ill give you that but customer service a big fat ZERO. I've never once had a good interaction with their drive through personal and this last time was the worst yet. I went to go get my mom and I some ice cream because my mom hasn't been feeling great the past couple of days so I wanted to lift her spirits. When I asked for a raspberry fudge blizzard I was told they no longer had raspberries. Which thats fine I work at a food establishment as well and due to covid we continue to have items on back order or we just run out it happens, but when I asked if there was something that they could suggest that would be a good alternative the drive though girl just kept saying "we are out of raspberries." Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience or anything. Granted it was really an inconvenience for me that they didn't have raspberries. When I got up to the window she wouldn't look me in the eye or look at me at all in fact she was looking out the window at the road while I was handing her my card. Both when I drove up and was leaving not once did I get a greeting or goodbye. Not once did I see a smile. But I did see and hear the attitude and the fed up tone in her voice. Yes this was during a rush hour but this is also still not an excuse. I understand i don't know what was going on in her life or how her day has been. I understand that it can get stressful during rushes like I said I also work in a food establishment so I know what a long day on my feet while I'm having a bad day. I know fast food is a hard job. I know she does not have it easy. But I also know that she had no idea what was going on in my personal life either or how long I had worked today. The bottom line is that the way you treat people while you are at work and serving people does indicate whether or not they will be coming back and I for sure will not be at least for a while. read more

Took over 15 min for a lunch drive thru order. Not enough time to even eat. very rude managers. food was way over cooked or sat to long. not happy with service. after looking into why that dairy queen was different found out that bascially went bankrupt and have no real managment. so sad loved blizzards..but icecream was runny read more

This is one of the restaurants that are horrible!! When I asked them if they could look and see if there were peanuts in the chicken, the lady said "I'm sorry I don't have time for that right now I have two many customers" DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!!! read more

If I could give them a negative number I could! I went in there with my kids and not only did they leave me standing at the counter and waited on people first that came in after I did but they made a nasty moo-late and I tried to just eat it but couldn't because it was so disgusting. I politely asked if they could possibly give me something different since it wasn't very tasty and I said they could even give me something cheaper and keep the difference ( I understand they didn't have to exchange it even though it was not made correctly). They said that would be fine. AFTER they gave me a small blizzard for my medium moo-late the cashier came up to my table and said he couldn't exchange it and took my ice cream back while I was eating it! I was shocked. I told them they could have the ice cream, just give me a refund but he said he couldn't refund my money or give me the ice cream! For real, over ice cream?! Rude, slow service and the owner is so cheap he didn't want to waste 50 cents to make a customer happy and in return, lost my business for good! read more
