Lunch doesn't get any better on a road trip, when you pull off the interstate and see a Culver's. The service is always friendly, the house made Root Beer is refreshing and nothing beats a Butterburger. It was a quick lunch, I enjoyed a Single Cheeseburger Basket with Fries. I love that their fries are, crinkle. Crinkle fries hold on the ketchup, when dipping it into the little cups. The little cups are another reason why I love Culver's. I hate public shared bottles of catsup and prefer the ketchup to be served in paper cups or stainless steel when dining at a sit down restaurant. Of course, I had their famous Root Beer as my beverage. My burger was a perfect smashed burger with crispy edges. I'm simple with toppings. I go for only pickles and onion. I then add the condiments of mustard and ketchup. The dining room was clean and as soon as other guest left, the staff was busy cleaning the booth or table for the next guest. When it's time to stretch and take a bathroom break, we stop at Culver's for dinner, too! It a good half way mark when going to see family. This is my second visit to this location and it was packed both times which I'm not surprised because it's right off the freeway. However, there's so many staff members that are eager to help. People were friendly as well. Food was served fast and fresh. I'd say it's a smaller Culver's location than my home city one, but still a nice one that's clean and bright. You can never go wrong with Culver's. Their butter burgers are SO good and prices are unbeatable. A whole delicious meal for under $9. I was impressed because at other fast food restaurants it's now $12+ for a meal. They also sell smoothies for under $2, which is a steal! Service was fast, ambience was a bit loud since it was packed with families. Friends and I stopped by on our way back to Minnesota from Chicago. It's half way and best food break. Definitely nice but a tad too spicy. Ended up taking Tums afterwards. But if you like a lot of spice, go for it. 3) Medium crinkle fries. Needed a touch more salt but was crispy and good. By far the best Culver's that I have been to. This restaurant is consistent and gives guests the best experience each and every time. The experience starts from the top as ownership is invested and trains staff to provide a respectful, warming visit each and every time. Family vacation 2021...bringing the California variant of COVID-19 to your city. Wow! Glad I decided to stop here at Culver's. With no locations in California, I had no idea who they were. I knew I had to try them when I saw that their parking lot full of hungry people waiting to order. Culver's did not disappoint. Their butterburger was outstanding. It is not a butterburger because the patty is cooked in butter, but, because they lightly butter the crown of the bun with butter. The butter on the bun just made the burger delicious. I loved it. My wife liked their Atlantic cod sandwich. It had a big piece of cod it in. According to their website, they also butter the buns on their fish sandwich. We enjoyed their food so much that we went to 3 different Culver's on 3 consecutive days. Service was good at this Culver's. They were patient with me as I was a newbie. They even brought my food out to me as I was waiting. Culver's is a great fast food place. The food and atmosphere is so much better than other fast food burger joints. I'm already missing their butterburger and want to escape California to have another one. read more

We ate at this Culver's on our way to Minnesota last weekend. It was the most horrible experience I have ever had at a Culver's. This location is at the Dells so it is nonstop busy--good for them. The service was fine--the lad taking my order was fine. The tables weren't clean because they are so busy--it's difficult to keep up with that. But the food--the food was horrible. The fries could have been cooked longer. The single butter burger seemed like it had been sitting there wilting for hours. The cheese on my burger couldn't melt into the burger at all. OMG I wish we had these in the south. It's like an updated burger joint crossbreed! (With the hospitality of a Chick-fil-A.) So I'm in the Midwest and was taken here, I don't usually do fast food but it beats what my company was serving. They have burgers, chicken, and seafood. The menu is very appealing because there's a variety of different "butter burgers", chicken sandwiches or tenders, fish sticks or sandwiches and salads. Let me not forget to mention the concretes, sundaes, ice creams AND THE AMAZING frozen lemonades that comes in regular lemonade, mango, and strawberry lemonade. (There's one or two more flavors!) The best thing about this place is everything is literally MADE TO ORDER. I got the chicken sandwich, I opted for cheese curds instead of fries, a frozen lemonade, and a small Oreo concrete with hot fudge. It was my first time trying cheese curds and they're very similar to mozzarella sticks. The chicken sandwich was so dang good I forgot to get a picture . This place is heaven in the Midwest! As it was my first time visiting Wisconsin, I met plenty of locals who said I could not miss out on trying Culver's during my time spent here. I figured I would give it a try as everyone seemed incredibly passionate about the restaurant. Upon entrance, the restaurant was packed and there seemed to be lots of people shuffling in but the staff was quick to take our orders. I opted to try the Sourdough Melt with a side of cheese curds and a milkshake. The burger was delicious and the cheese curds were even better but the Chocolate Peanut Butter shake takes the cake on being the best thing I got to try. There was plenty of indoor seating where many people were gathered which gave a strong restaurant feel. All in all, I am glad I got to try this Wisconsin staple and believe this location is a prime example of what a Culver's should be. read more

I am so disappointed with one of my favorite places to be... For the last FIVE times they have succeeded in forgetting my cheese curds EVERY SINGLE TIME without fail. I stopped here on the way home from a recent road trip. I had the Fish sandwich, crinkle fries and a frozen cocoa concrete. The sandwich had a huge piece of battered cod, lettuce and cheese on a soft slightly sweet bun. It was, without a doubt, the best fish sandwich I've ever had. The fries were fresh, hot and crispy. The Concrete was thick and chocolaty, but somehow lighter than I expected. If I ever find myself back in Tomah, needing a fast food fix, I will definitely stop here again. read more

This is one of the better culvers in this area. The next nearest one is in mauston and mistakes are frequent! Culvers are all pretty equal in quality, which is a good thing! Since it was friday, we had the fish dinner. It was excellent. On par with a high end (priced) fish fry. You get two sides with it, however, the selection is quite limited. Absolutely impressed by the young adults working here. I called in an order and it was ready in 5 min. I paid for my meals, and a young girl brought my food to me. She was pleasant and had eye contact! Coming from DC area, I'm not used to this. When I approached the counter to ask for more ketchup, 3 of the workers immediately came up to see what they could help with. Again, great eye contact and extremely pleasant. I haven't ever found a bad Culver's. I used to eat at the one in Sauk City before they opened one up in Baraboo. Usually when a mom-n-pop tosses franchise stores all over the map, they diminish in quality and lose something in the translation. Not Culver's. It's like an upscale combination of Burger King, Dairy Queen and the local fish-n-chips, but the difference in price is nothing considering the upgrade in the quality of the food and service. It's still a fast food joint, but they make everything to order and keep you feeling special. It's also one of the last remaining chains that emphasize old-school etiquette at the counter or the drive-through. Dining in it feels more like home than a diner or a fast-food place. Don't deprive yourself by missing out on their fish dinner, and if you like ice cream you will love their custard. They make sundaes, cones, whatever you want, and let's just say I'm not the only customer who knows their entire menu and how each thing tastes. Friends eat here. Families eat here. Church groups gather here. Sports teams choose Culvers. So will you. read more

I love Wisconsin. Don't get me wrong, California has good cheese, but Wisconsin really embraces the cheese culture. It can even be seen at Culvers. I ordered a burger, soda, and replaced my fries with fried cheese nuggets. Yes, little balls of cheese, breaded and fried. Oh boy, they don't skimp either. The bag seemed endless. 5 stars because they use two different types of cheese too. Culvers also makes its own rootbeer. Just the right flavor and not too sweet, went really well with my burger. The lovely quilted sign as you step in the door indicates that you are, indeed, in the heart of the Midwest and that you are about to partake in the finest culinary offerings of the Wisconsin road. If you're extra hungry, the North Atlantic Cod dinner is worth its weight in grease; the French fries are always perfectly salted and delicious. And the frozen custard is a delightful change of ice cream pace. If your food must be fast and portable, the drive-thru service is also handy. But actually going in provides people watching of the highest caliber, so I'd take the time to get out of the car, stretch your legs, and undo your belt buckle. read more

Food is pretty good but severely mismanaged fro the sole reason they sweep the carpets instead of vacuuming them. Now I did some research and conducted a study regarding this act. 10/10 times vacuuming carpeting worked better then using a broom and 9/10 people prefer using a vacuum for this task. You know you're in Badger country when you start to see Culvers at every exit on the highway. For those who aren't from the Midwest, Culvers is a fast food restaurant that serves burgers. What makes them different from your McDonalds, Burger King, etc? I'm not sure if there's an industry name for it but I would call it a slow quick serve. Everything is absolutely made to order so after you order your food, they give you a number and you have a seat. Once your food is cooked, they'll bring it to your table. One of the best things about Culvers is the fact that everything is incredibly fresh. Your fries come out perfectly crispy, the burger was just assembled and it doesn't look like it got squashed by a 10 lb weight like so many fast food chains. Culvers serves up a pretty mean custard with their signature butterburgers. Yeah, you heard that right, BUTTER -BURGER. Of course if you're a big Paula Dean fan, you'll love these Butterburgers but your heart may not as it clogs full of cholesterol. But hey, life is short, so scarf down that butterburger double with a custard on the side and let your eyes roll to the back of your head as you enjoy that meaty, buttery, salty, delicious goodness. Culvers is definitely on the pricier side for food but for what you're getting, it's worth it. Definitely along the lines of 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. Culvers brings new meaning to fast food. It isnt fast enough that you stand at the counter where you order- you go find a table and by the time you are settled, there is your meal! The frozen custard is amazing, even though it is like a 1000 calories in a small serving. They have great choices for the daily flavor and neat seasonal ones as well. My husband loves the Valentines: dark chocolate cherry. The kids meals come with a small custard of choice and they can earn points with each meal to come back and trade in for hats and tshirts, etc. The meals come with lots of side choices (always have) besides fries. Staff is friendly and fast. I am addicted to the grilled turkey club- amazing. Definitely the place to go after a football game. read more
