We were traveling and had to stop to get something to eat and Perkins was right off the highway plus I wanted to stop and get one of their delicious apple pies and blueberry muffins. We were a party of nine and we ordered several dishes off the menu from breakfast to lunch to dinner. Everyone enjoyed their dishes from the burgers to the skillets to the steak and broccoli and everything was brought to the table at one time. Our waiter was amazing. I was surprised at how good the food was. I would rate this restaurant 8 out of 10. Our tab was $160 bucks not counting tax and tip. I loved this place. Very affordable option just like to Dennys or IHOP. Maybe even a bit more affordable depending what you order. Breakfast served all day. Lunch & dinner available as well with a variety of options. I think these options are also available anytime however, I would have to confirm this. There is also a bar with pool table and slot machines and "rippies". Friendly staff and attached to a nice looking Best Western. Very quaint when no tournaments in the bar area. I really hate to be mean but this was such a disappointing experience. There were at least 5 flies buzzing around the table, I never got a water refill and my broccoli came out covered in black spots. I got a replacement side of fruit, which was a bunch of cheap melon and two grapes. The place is clearly understaffed and needs an overhaul. read more

Perkin's is a great midway stop for breakfast enroute to Minneapolis. The place was clean and I liked the light music they had playing to start the day. We were greeted by friendly staff and Paula our server was really good about taking our order and checking in on us. Breakfast items were served piping hot. The buttermilk pancakes aren't to be passed up! They make them from scratch daily and come to the table steaming hot with a nice ball of melting butter and maple syrup on the side. read more

Always have good service and food but tonight, due to not being that busy, they shut down the restaurant early. No problem, we sat in the bar. Really wanted a cup of coffee and they said they dumped the pot already. This is 1 1/2 hour before closing. Very disappointing. read more

Was recently the Perkins in Tomah, WI. Had a delightful waitress named Kim. She was absolutely fantastic- she took our order, made sure we had refills, even visited with us as she was able. The atmosphere was great, you good the employees enjoyed their job and working there. Would definitely stop there again!! read more

Our servers Izzy and Brooke were fun. We had a great experience at this Perkins. I am not a fan of chain restaurants but the company I was with wanted to eat here. We didn't even get a chance to try the food so no idea if it was good or bad. We were part of a larger group, but were running late so we needed to wait as a result. We asked to be added to our group of friends when our turn came up on the list and the person at the counter told us it wouldn't be an issue. We had just wanted to be able to hang out with our friends and didn't care if we had to wait for our food so waiting to be served wasn't that a big deal. We waited for an hour and six other parties left before we finally got called. They then told that they would not be able to add us to our group of friends because they had already been served, but offered to seat us nearby so we could still socialize with them which we were fine with. However, they then tried sitting us in an entirely different room all together at which point enough was enough and we left. They really need to get their shit together. Classic American diner. This place is a local go-to for breakfast, lunch and dinner, everything from eggs benedict to grilled cheese and macaroni. You want it, you got it, and the price isn't too bad either. By the way, I can't say enough about their California Eggs Benedict. Usually their coffee is really good. If not, it's worth the wait for a new batch so let them know. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Then there's their pie rack... Eggs Benedict was spectacular, get the country fried potatoes, I think that's what it was called. Its served during breakfast as an option other than Hash. Its kinda like mini potato wedges. Breakfast for three with drinks was just under $30 bucks. Perkins must be stepping up.. they had two wide flat screen TVs on either end of the dining room. Displaying news and sports. Food here is solid. Nothing special. Think the best thing I liked was that you could really order something off the menu and customize it to your likings. Go if you're hungry but skip the town of Tomah altogether if you are of color, because they have undoubtedly nailed the subtle yet distinct condescending "no non-whites allowed" vibe that minorities are quite familiar with. I had the Turkey Cobb salad there for dinner. It was good and filled me up. Im only rating it 3 stars due to it being a chain, my first visit and the fact that consistency is an issue at most chains. Terrible food. Waitstaff was nice but food was both under cooked and overcooked. Coffee was week and tasteless.

The food was great and our waitress was awesome. With that being said, don't fall for their "kids eat free" bit. We ordered three adult meals and three kids meals and somehow not a single one was free. Our bill ended up being almost $20 more than expected. We ended up leaving a great tip for our waitress because she really was exceptional, but unfortunately we won't be back to eat here again. read more

Our service was lack of and our food was cold and soggy. I always put my younger kids order in first and they didn't come till ours did and all our food was cold and soggy. When I went to pay the cashier didn't even pay attention to the card I handed her, I suggested she should check ID like the back of my card asked and she got rude with me as did the manager who pushed us out the door. I usually do not write negative reviews but I must say this one deserves it. We stopped at1:30 pm, so we had brunch. I ordered the trio: soup, salad and pie, my husband a breakfast platter. When our food arrived my salad was half full of rotting lettuce. The waitress was not even apologetic, and seemed upset with me that I had the nerve to show! I decide I would forgo all salad choices and opt for a sandwich instead. She returned with the sandwich and no apology. My husband ordered soft scrambled eggs and got over easy, he did not complain. We were not visited again until we were completely through- no drink refills or my pie! When I told her as she was clearing g plates that we needed the pie removed from our bill she seemed upset- wanted me to take it with me. I said no we were traveling and it would not keep. My only experience was for breakfast. A little understaffed but the food was good. Breakfast opens at 0600 for you larks. They run a 5 or 6 menu special Monday through Friday in which each of the meals run about 5 dollars. They do honor a military discount. read more

Traveling through with grandkids stop at Perkins , food was Great Nancy our waitress very pleasant! Would recommend this place to anyone!
