An update to my previous visit. They now take credit cards and our foor was very good and hot. Just the way I like it. Only take away from a 5 star rating is that we got stuck sitting at an elevated table, one of 5 or about 1/3of the available seating. This type of seating is hard on old knees and tough to get up on the chairs because of the height. Otherwise, all was great. We were told that the restaurant is now under different ownership. Whether it is or not, it was very enjoyable! read more

This coffee shop is everything a coffee shop should be. The atmosphere was great, staff were super friendly, and the food was delicious. I recommend the Tarragon Chicken Salad and based off my daughters cheesy smiles, she'd recommend the grilled cheese. They have fruit as an option for a side, which was perfect for my toddler. The house coffee was good, tasting fresh and not burnt. If you're curious, they do have highchairs for kids to sit in. Thank you for the great experience! read more

Stopped by this coffee shop while in Mauston,WI for the weekend. I loved to look at all of the vintage coffee grinders. The shop is decorated so cute! I also like that the shop is Christian based, you don't find that very often these days. The owner was inviting and friendly. Wish I lived closer I would stop by everyday! My latte was the best! Wonderful food and wonderful service. We waffled on where to eat cause our travels through these towns has left us wanting in restaurant experiences. The sausage and gravy was amazing. The sausage patties are homemade. Great spices. The hash browns were worth ordering seconds. Apparently they've been around for 18 years. I hope they are around for a lot longer. After driving around the country for 14 days, we found Beyond the Daily Grind's menu very attractive online. Could it be we could eat a breakfast that was not full of grease & salt? It felt like too much to ask. I suspected I might have to get coffee at a different place- since I don't put dairy milk in my coffee, but the food looked good. We were very pleasantly surprised! I will say it was the best breakfast this person has had in those 14 days. We ordered 2 egg dishes and one salad with chicken and a single buttermilk pancake. We ate everything. Delicious! Everything was well made, fresh, appropriately cooked- not over or under cooked. I am often disappointed by pancakes so eat only a bit. I finished this one. The coffee was perfect and they carry almond milk! If you're also tired of grease & would like some fresh food as it would be home cooked- head on over, you wont be disappointed! Holy moly! Stopped for a sandwich and coffee / hot tea. Per my husband, wouldn't drive out of my way for the coffee but it was good. Sandwiches were amazing, side of homemade chicken soup was just excellent (although a little salty but I liked that.) And if you like, I mean LIKE, bread and butter pickles, take them all from the plates at your table and enjoy - so, so good. Sandwiches came on homemade bread! Sliced turkey with cranberries and a little cream cheese on flax seed bread - outstanding. Sliced turkey with Havarti cheese on sourdough - fantastic. Service was superb. Now the atmosphere, nicely redone older building. Very clean. ATM on-site. Deeply Christian - devotionals on the tables, psalms & prayers everywhere, Christian music. We found ourselves whispering at our table! Oh, and we bought a loaf of fresh bread and a couple of fresh scones to go. Went in for breakfast and coffee... The omelet was ok.. All the way but mostly tasted the onions and eggs.. Hashbrowns were attempted to be crispy on the outside but the potatoes were mush.. Requested kethup and mustard but the mustard was stopped up.(that would have really helped them). Coffee was soso but I never was offered a refill so I had to finish my meal without anything to drink. Best thing on the plate was the toast and one of the two cherries! On the up side, I'm not hungry anymore.. :( read more
