Walking in on a Saturday morning our group of three was seated immediately. The parking lot had space but the layout isn't great. The larger groups waiting for a table spilled into the lot. So be careful not to run anyone over... The theme is cute. The inside is a little worn. The plates and cups have grey marks from silverware. The restaurant is actually very big inside. The service was very prompt. I like that the selection of pancakes flavors was beyond what you usually find at an IHOP. They also do crepes and French toast etc. The portions were pretty big! I shared one a plate of pancakes with another person and we couldn't quite finish it. The pancakes were sweet. I don't think they used fresh berries for the compote. It was satisfying. Great breakfast place right in the heart of the Dells. They have all the breakfast classics, and if you're feeling adventurous, you can even get ice cream on your pancakes or waffles! Our server, Mihai A., showed great command of his serving area. He was even able to pull off a late request to hold the powdered sugar on my husband's pancakes. Kudos to Mihai! Service is good here. If you're coming to get pancakes and coffee you'll probably like mr. pancake, but stay away from their hash browns and other items not pancake or waffle related. I had steak and eggs- paid 18.00 for it and am very disappointed. The steak was undercooked in the middle of the cut, it was not the best New York Strip cut. And was very thin. The eggs were over medium and overcooked. The sourdough toast slices were good but on the small side. For 18.00, I expect better. The lattes are good. The place is noisy which is ok. There are no booths so no barriers. Very open space. They want you out of here quickly when you're done. My server actually asked me if I was ready to pay- no big deal, but it was less than 5 minutes after he left the bill, and told me then I can pay him when I'm ready to pay - call me picky but VERY annoying. So with a name like Mr Pancake I am expecting you to bring some seriously good pancakes out to the table. As it turns out they backed up their name with some great northern style pancakes along with some amazing cheese blintzes. We loved the building, it was open and you didn't feel crowded even though you could sit a large crowd with ease. I don't know if all of there service is as good as what we had, but I have a feeling it is. I definitely recommend this place for a family breakfast while in the Dells. read more

First off, absolutely amazing across the board. The Swedish pancakes were phenomenal, added Nutella to them, the banana pancakes were huge and off the chart delicious!! My daughter LOVED the chocolate chip ones and I had the avacado toast which was the best I have had in a LONG time. The pickles red onions were a really nice addition to it. They have a cinnamon maple syrup that was not "needed" on the extraordinary cakes, but was a delectable addition. Needless to say despite the large portions, there were nothing left on plates. Get the House latte with their homemade honey cinnamon syrup.! It's a heaven in a cup. Probably a little more honey than cinnamon and absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered was great. I really enjoyed that the omelet want super greasy like some restaurants. If you get the hash browns with cheese, consider asking for light cheese. I want to start by saying I rarely write reviews but this time is different. I work in hispotality and I can't stay indiferent to the service here. Lets start positive first, the food is good, pancakes and omletes were good and coffee is tasty too. We went there this morning after watching the sunrise and we were ready for some nice food and coffee. From the start we were greated coldly by the server and after that everything we ordered seemed like an issue for him. We understand that it was busy but it never hurts to be nice. And here is where I got annoyed. On the menu explicitly says that for groups of 8 and more theres 20% gratuity, maybe he knew that he was rude and thought we won't tip so he added the 20% on group of 6. This was something out of the line for me and its not for the extra dollar or 3 it's about the attitude. Customer comes first and for our case that was not it. read more

Our waitstaff was friendly and accommodating, the food was good and the kids enjoyed it. I do wish that there were more vegetarian options (but that seemed pretty common to the Dells). It did take a little longer to get food because there were a couple big parties that ordered right before us. Can't speak to the bathroom situation. I will say to get there on the earlier side. This is fine. The food was normal. I don't really like omlettes the way they are made in this region, but fine for what it was. My daughter really liked the strawberry french toast. My son ate some of his pancake. We were disappointed when the peanutbutter pancakes were just regular pancakes with some reese's pieces thrown on top. It was really dry and thick so I had to wash it down with the coffee which was too dark for me. This is probably fine for some people, but I can't rave about it. This place is great. They have a variety of pancakes. You'd probably have to wait 30 minutes to get a seat but it's worth it. We got pecan pancakes and potatoes pancakes. I love the nuttiness of the pecan pancakes. Despite high volume of customers, the quality of food was not compromised. They cooked the pancakes so well. Our server was Addie.
