Our family loves the DQ and recently moved to the area. This location is in a very small and possibly unfinished shopping center? Not really sure, but there is a loT of parking, you might have to walk because the parking rIGht by the DQ is usually full. The customer service is always great here aNd we have never had any problems. I like getting the dilly bars by eitheR the 6 or 12 pack. You can mix an match the flavors, but make sure you asK because sometimes they will give you regular vanilla chocolate dipped. My least favorite DQ! The manager (older lady w/ red hair) acts like I'm asking her to sell her soul to the devil when I tried to add cheesecake bites to my double fudge stuffed cookie. Sure, cheesecake and a cookie may not sound appealing to most but it's what I like and this is LITERALLY the only location I've ever been to that treats the cheesecake bites like they're in a drought. I stressed that I'll pay whatever the amount is and they would not accommodate me. The manager is rude and should get a position in the basement somewhere like the guy from office space. read more

S/o to the male clerk that was working today 1/15/18 between the hours of 3:30 -5:00. You're a jerk. My 7 year old son needed to use the restroom bad so we stopped off & ran into Dairy Queen. That jerkish clerk made it a point when leaving to say " The restrooms are for customers". Yes I knew that but he's a kid & needed to use the restroom. I'm sure if I drove a few blocks to the Starbucks & did that I wouldn't of got that comment. There has been a Dairy Queen at the corner of Monroe and California since 1956, I believe. Back when Walters Five and Dime (gosh I miss the Walters!), and Alpha Beta were here, along with Joe's Barber Shop, the Beauty Salon, a dog groomer, liquor store and a tiny cafe. Too bad California Square got torn down about 5 years ago, despite Dairy Queen fighting the cold hearted city of Riverside, and the city forced Dairy Queen to have their old drive-up building torn down in favor of a newer, colder, less friendly place located way over to the left side, hardly seen now. Boo hiss, Riverside city planners!!!! Boo on you!!!! Now we have just another non-descript strip mall type place where a mexican market, pizza joint share the Dairy Queen lot, and a promise to build a brand new shopping center, stalled for several years now. Ugh. Seriously? Now, it seems to me that Dairy Queen used different ingredients when I was a kid, because the ice cream does not quiiiiiiite taste the same, but hey, I have been going to this DQ forever, I know this shopping center forever, (god rest it's wonderful old soul, and may the new shopping center be cursed with the fleas of a thousand camels) and there is no way I can give it less than 5 stars, even though I personally did not care for the ice cream cake I got, It was just personal preference, really. The gal working here is the daughter of the owner she says from 30 years ago, but I swear it's been longer. Came in and needed a rush order on a cake- and it needed a picture put on it. The ladies were so polite. Worked quickly to get it done and did a great job. The picture didn't turn out the first time so before putting it on they double checked with me. Then called someone down to get it done perfectly. I rated a particular DQ in Riverside that asked me if I wanted extra pecans in my Blizzard. When I asked if there would be an extra cost they said yes. When I declined I ended up paying for a blizzard with very few pecans. I made up my mind I was done but my daughter loves the chocolate shake. We went to one at lake elsinore a few weeks ago. I asked for the turtle blizzard. They never asked the question about pecans and they gave the perfect amount like I used to get at any other DQ I've ever been to. We've gone back twice since and they still haven't asked about pecans for a turtle blizzard. So I guess it's just that one location in Riverside that I rated previously. I just hate that they don't have one closer that make the perfect turtle blizzard. read more

The customer service and icecream are always on point. My family and I are regulars and everytime we walk in we get smiles and a positive attitude even when its busy. The wait is never long and icecream (blizzards) always have tons of candy and made perfect! They make your dessert as if they were making for themselves. Jacqueline the manger is awesome and so are the workers. I felt so very bad for the staff at my favortie DQ during the free dip cone event. it was NOT the employees fault that the AP needed would not download, nor was it their fault no one seemed to have read the fine print for the deal. whomever was shreiking at the manager and calling her names should have been helluva lot nicer and not acted so crazy over a dip cone. some people go crazy for free. gosh.. i think the staff was doing the best they could and ultimate "blame" should fall to DQ HD for saying clearly one thing but failing to show the follow up properly.. the staff of that DQ were blame free and taking way to much BS from people for a cone... i felt for them truly.. good people and stores always clean.. read more

I've been coming to this location for years. This location is less than 2 miles from my house but I will never be back after tonight. I'll drive twice the distance to the one on Magnolia just to avoid this one. An employee messed up my order and then gave me attitude when I asked them to remake it. I understand you all are extremely busy, but with this kind of service how can you expect people to want to come back. It's NEVER ok to disrespect a customer the way I was disrespected tonight. Stressed spelled backwards is Desserts and that's what you get here. The best soft serve in town! I go to this DQ regularly. They have the best staff, always treating with a smile and a hello as we walk through their door. We have also had the great pleasure of taking home one of their ice cream cakes for my Mom' birthday. OMG! So delicious and the decoration was beautiful. The decorator said she could do special orders and put any design or decoration on any blizzard flavor cake. Unpleasant. Very slow. Cashier didn't know menu items. Then my family and I had to wait 20 mins for 3 large blizzards since her manager decided to pull her to the side and talk to her instead of just letting her finish. They served 10 other people before they actually started on ours. This place sucks. Well after going to Dairy Queen my entire life I won't be going to the one on California St. In Riverside. We get ice cream cakes for all our families birthdays it's tradition. My wife picked one up and asked to make sure it's the right cake, vanilla with chocolate. She said anyone on that shelf are the ones you want. Okay if your sure I've gotten the wrong one before. She was sure. Well after the candles are blown out it's the wrong one it has strawberry a couple of guests had a piece anyway sans the strawberry part. My wife drives the next day to return the cake 15 miles one way. The girl behind the counter remembered her. The manager refused to make it right because some of the product is missing. He gave her a small cake instead that's the best he could do since the full cake wasn't returned. Was he going to re sell the the remaining cake? She spent 50.00 there. This used to be one of my favorite places to go for ice cream. My kids and I have been coming here for many years after softball games along with half her team, however after tonight, it will be my last time. My girls and picked up my friend from work and decided to stop here for some treats. We ordered 6 different ice creams and blizzards. There was a new kind called the new summer berry blend blizzard and as reluctant as my friend and I were to try it , Jackie, whom has served us many times over the past 2 years said, "they are excellent" and to take her word for it, so we order 2 . Well I get mine and take a bite and it tasted really sour to me. Me thinking it is my taste buds, I ask my friend to taste it and he says the same thing. I, then walk back in , wait for everybody to be done ordering, I ask Jackie, if we can exchange them and she sharply says NO, U CANNOT. I ask why and she then replies, because its policy if it is made right then its yours. I then ask if I could get my money back, to which she replies more sharply NO U CANNOT and turns her back towards me and ignores me... My girls say, mom lets just not come here anymore, so m we walk out. My friend works costumer service in retail is very upset stays there and asks for her name, which she refuses to turn around and give him her name. so he asks one of the other girls and then Jackie turns around in front of other costumers and rudely says "ITS JACKIE".and then he left very sad and disappointed. I have ordered two cakes in the past month from this facility and received remarkable service both times. The employees are fast, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and extremely friendly. Don't ever order a birthday cake here. I ordered an Elmo birthday cake for my sons birthday, the cake decorator was there and I had a whole conversation with her about "best colors for writing that would go with Elmo's red" and "sesame street colors". I go to pick it up today and it is a plain white cake with "happy birthday" written on it. No elmo. No picture. Not even an attempt. I'm not going to pay that much money for a plain white cake for a sesame street children's birthday party, so I just got a refund. So thanks for leaving off the most important part of an "elmo cake", the elmo. Don't recommend going here at all. I went to Dairy Queen to get my son a 30th birthday cake. It's his favorite cake! I didn't know what design I wanted on the cake. All I had was the napkin I was using for the party. I looked through the book and there was a lot to choose from. Then Alan and Monica (employees) asked me if I needed help. We all brain stormed together for a while and we come up with an awesome design. They both were extremely helpful. I couldn't have done it without their help.
