There's also a drive thru option available. The service is prompt and pleasant. I've visited several times and only had one concern- when I observed a worker drop cup lids on the floor then pick them up and place them back on the rack to be used on another order. I immediately pointed it out to another worker who promptly removed and discarded them; however I didn't observe the issue being addressed to the individual in order to prevent future infractions, hence the 3 stars. Well I got a blizzard from here and there was no pieces in it. Then I waited 30 minutes in the drive through for an ice cream cake because the walk in is closed so you can't pick one out. This is the cake I got, so disappointed they r expensive to begin with, and the writing looks terrible they didn't even cross the T. They advertised these beautiful Father's Day cakes on the tv and this is definitely not it. read more

Well I thought finally the DQ on 5th street is finally fully open. New Management and all. Well we had a Local Flavor deal that we paid for. $5 for $10 so we thought we would use it and try to support the new owners. I ordered 2 Blizzards. Got to the window and they told me they didn't except it. So I hope they enjoyed eating the 2 Blizzards because I drove away.. you would think the new owners would bend over backwards to get the business in full gear... well they can bend over backwards and kiss my a@#. Dairy Queen is a good value for its low fat and lower sugar dairy products. I frequent other 'DQ's, but I have been disappointed in their quantity and price.. I think there are measuring standards all stores to abide by, but this store lost the list.. I found on a prior visit an issue with price and quantum. This time, I am complaining about it. The ice cream sandwich was vanella ice cream between two orieo cookies and I stood one penny aside of the sandwich and the penny was taller. Price was $1.79. I estimate the cost of making this was $0.17. I showed the product to the clerk who took my money and she stated...this is how we make it.. Visited my old neck of the woods and thought I'd stop in the Temple DQ for a cone. I ordered at drive thru. The menu board automatically states a pleasant message that is so opposite of what is to come.. an unpleasant person who doesn't say hello may I help you. Instead "whats your order" with a voice that matches a unpleasant person at the window. At the window I'm given two small cones of chocolate that looked deflated and the taste was bland, and the price were high.6.39 for two small cones. WHAT HAPPENED TO TEMPLE DQ? It was an unpleasant visit from service to ice cream. I heard rumors about this place going down hill but my goodness I didn't recognize this place. A Tall tale sign to stay away...parking lot is empty when places like Schells Dairy Swirl is full. DQ owner what are you doing? This was the hot spot for ice cream up to the mid 2000's. Last season when I was in here, the blizzards were way too soft. They're supposed to be able to flip it upside down and have it not fall out of the cup. I didn't think of trying it, but I'm sure it would have fell out of the cup if I did that. Not enjoyable when they're super soft and not okay considering the small is like $4. I don't know if they're unaware that their machines aren't keeping the blizzards at the correct temperature or if they've raised the temperature in some sort of effort to keep costs down. There's no indoor seating at this location and they don't serve food either. The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing and the service was quite slow. Unfortunately the closest DQ to this one is in Kenhorst. In summary, this location is a huge disappointment. A colossal fail like this must be from poor management. read more

First I walk in and as for a Caramel Chip Frappe, then Im told they don't have the Frappe mix, then Im told they can make me one. It was made not with caramel chips, but caramel sauce, I asked if they could mix chocolate chips in with it and they don't have chocolate chips?? What ice cream place doesn't have chocolate chips? So we didn't go to this Dairy Queen for years because of the owner who was a total Bitch. Well not sure if she still owns the place and we decided to give it a try BIG MISTAKE!! I ordered a small chocolate nut sundae.. I should have known when the person asked me if I want nuts...UGH..So when my order came up their sat a cup of chocolate icecream with a few chopped nuts on it..Well let me see for the last 60 years when ordering a chocolate nut sundae it is Vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and chopped peanuts.. some places even add whipped cream and a cherry... I love Dairy Queen ice cream. I grew up on DQ Vanilla Chocolate twists and frozen bananas. While the frozen bananas may be off the menu, the ice cream always brings me back to my youth. I only give this DQ 4 stars because it seems like there is always a line and they do not accept credit cards. There is outside seating, but you need to look for it. It's in the back, off to the side, and up on a platform. As an aside, a little known fact is that soft serve typically has a lower milk fat content than regular hard pack. When you are driving down 5th Street and looking at the multitude of ice cream choices, Dairy Queen's soft serve is a slightly healthier choice (if you can ever apply the term "healthy" to ice cream)! read more

This location has gotten worse with the new remodel. they've added a drive-through with made to order foods, but seem to have taken a lot of room away from the ice cream operation, less counter space, resulting in longer lines. And the drive through still doesnt seem to be open and operational yet. We still take 95% of our ice cream business to Shell's just down the road. read more

When I was a child diary queen was always the first choice, there was nothing quite like going there on Sunday with my grandfather and enjoying a chocolate dipped ice cream cone. I've always loved this dairy queen because of its sentimental value and great tasting Ice cream when I heard the owner died I was very sad and worried that I might never get to enjoy my favorite treat the way I like it. Very disappoints!! I've gone there since I was small. the ice cream doesn't taste good anymore. Seems watered down which could be because its ICE MILK -YUK-and not REAL ice cream. The last few times I've been there they were understaffed and no one seemed to know what was going on. We waited 50 minutes and left. The wait was not due to a crowded store, either. However, tonight I tried DQ again only to walk out in disgust--after waiting 5 minutes in front of a vacant front counter-- feeling like they didn't want or need my business. So I drove a block and a half to Schells where my medium cone cost $2.65 (including tax) versus DQ's $2.89 plus tax. DQ's drive up / drive thru service isn't even in operation yet.
