Staff is nice and friendly here, they move super fast! The line was out quite a bit on Ford road but went by quick. I always get my strawberry sundaes from here but recently, both times, I got it, and the strawberries and their syrup have gone rancid and acidic. I called to let them know this but no one answered the phones. I think they must have them out or stored wrong in the heat? Strawberries are very sensitive and need to be stored properly, I thought maybe it was a one time thing, but I got some more today, and it was even more sour and rancid and heartburn inducing. Ordered an ice cream cake with a Groupon Coupon for my daughter's birthday. I was super happy with myself for being so organized and having had ordered it a week earlier. I was also very happy with myself that I had ordered this expensive cake to be picked up a day earlier than the party because the 'ever-so-smart' baker/manager tells me when I get there to pick up my cake, that they don't accept Groupons. ??? Go here about once a month and the employees are always great, courteous, pleasant, quick and welcoming. This place is always packed that there's a line down Ford Rd, so here's a hint, skip the parking lot and park in the neighborhood or nearby businesses after 5pm. A minimum of 5-7 girls working the front counter and about 3-5 in the drive thru, so they keep that place moving. What's great about this place is they have a nice patio area and large indoors seating. They carry a wide range of ice cream cakes that they can personalize on the spot for you. I use to love going to this Dairy Queen but they have seen my family and I for the last time. I waited in line for about 20-25 mins. But that's the norm on the weekend. It's like after 10pm it's dark and I was hot due to the weather and I was excited about my cone. I pull off and I start eating my cone! But WAIT!!! It's like I was eating pebbles. The NUTS were burnt. Turn back was not an option because the line like every summer weekend was a block long on Telegraph Road. I was truly hurt. If I could give this location 0 stars I would. I've been coming here for years mostly because of convenience as it's close to my house and my kids love the soft serve. However the drive thru line is always ridiculously long and the employees notoriously rude. Today was the worst experience by far. I waited 25 minutes in the drive thru line (once you're in the line you're essentially trapped) to get ice cream for my toddlers. Once I got to the window I was told the card reader was broken, and because I didn't have cash I was out of luck. I told the employee I had waited for 25 minutes and asked if she was going to throw the ice cream away she said "yup". I asked to speak to a manager, Alessia I think her name was. She was extremely rude and condescending and didn't try to remedy the situation whatsoever. Didn't even have someone coming out to the cars to tell them the car reader was broken. This isn't how you treat loyal customers or people who have been waiting for 25 minutes only to be turned away by an issue that's the businesses fault. This DQ does a very good job of getting orders correct and processed quickly with the super long lines. The service and ice cream is 4 or 5 star but I can't go there because of the issue this place causes with the traffic back up. It's gone from being an inconvenience to a safety hazard. Since they are on the city boarder the police department doesn't care. They really should have looked at redesigning the parking lot or something. I guess it doesn't matter to me that much anymore since another DQ just opened up on Greenfield just north of Michigan Ave. The competition should cut into the traffic back ups. It's obviously on this places radar. Last year for free cone day they didn't participate and everyone found out only after they arrived with their kids. What do you tell your kid then, no ice cream. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because it is open all year round and has a dining room. That is where the positives end. Every time I've been here the clientele has found a way to make me angry. This establishment is frequented by members of the Arab community. Fine. What isn't fine is the way they talk to the employees. They are demeaning to the employees which are mostly female. They are very demanding in their orders often speak in Arabic blatantly about the employees. This leads to employees, who don't seem very cheerful about it their jobs, not looking excited to be there. I can't blame them, especially if I'm being ridiculed constantly. The parking situation is also a joke. Cool you drive a Lexus, that doesn't mean you can park like a jerk off and take up 2 spots in a very tight parking spot. No surprise this is the same person I referenced above yelling at the employees. The drive thru line is also a mess. Blocks traffic on Ford rd and typically people are never in an organized line. This is my favorite place in Dearborn to get ice cream. The staff is awesome and they always get my chocolate extreme + extra chocolate order right every time. I'm a bit of a regular so some of them just know what I want, they don't even need to ask. Another plus is that it's super clean. I understand the counters get a little messy making my chocolate explosion but when you look around, they don't have crap caked on the walls and machines like most other ice cream places do. 2 starts off for the extremely limited parking, the long drive thru line, and the small inside. When you walk in, there's is amazing smell of soft serve and sweetness. I got a rolo mini blizzard with a lot fudge on top. However, they had hardly put me any hot fudge, but I can roll with that. My blizzard was awesome. I'm not even going to think how much calories were in that thing. I would recommend with place, but I think it's better to grab a quick treat than to eat in. read more
