My husband ran out of the house as I put the kids to bed to slide into DQ to get us blizzards, and he got there at 8:42 and they were already closing everything down! We checked the hours before going to make sure we would make it in time and the sign says they close at 9, as does the Yelp hours. Update: please have someone come in to train your employees to make blizzards already! I shouldnt have to go home to get it in the freezer because it's mush when handed to me. The fact only one girl can make them like they are meant to be is awful- I used to have them in GA and CA, it's not the heat, it's the lack of training or outdated machinery. It's unfair to these kids, because I know I cannot be the only ahole (yes I feel like an ahole) asking them to do it again so it's not completely liquid! We went to this DQ after searching the corp website. There should have been some indication this location does not have the full DQ food menu since we were going for dinner. The DQ website should indicate if the location has a full menu or is ice cream only and if there is seating or not, as this location has no indoor seating or restrooms. They do have hot dogs & chili cheese dogs at this Beverly location. We ordered three of each. This was apparently VERY confusing for the girl taking the order. For some reason she brought them to the counter one at a time, with a LONG lag time between each. Needless to say, the first ones were stone cold before we got our complete order, most of which ended up in the trash barrel. The ice cream we ordered after was OK. The staff was not exactly rude, but they were far from welcoming. This Dairy Queen is one of the last surviving ones on the North Shore area. It's staffed with high school kids. Surprisingly the service is quite decent from the staff. Strawberry Cheesequake is the only thing I order from here. Probably explains why I have excess weight. read more

I have celiac disease, and each time I went the staff took my allergy request very seriously, taking special care to check about ingredients with me and cleaning the machines before preparing my treat. Sometimes, I just feel the need for a DQ soft serve with chocolate topping. I just have to keep myself from eating the whole thing before the chocolate hardens completely. They also have those Flurries which are so good, but calorie-wise, I don't think they are too wise to eat that often. I tend to agree with some of the recent poor reviews. I have come to this Dairy Queen regularly over the last 30 years. It is almost sacred to our family, and many childhood memories revolve around this place. The last several times I have come I have received poor customer service from the 18 year olds working the counter. They seem legitimately annoyed to have to help me rather than carry on a conversation with one another. In addition, the last time I was there, there were kids smoking a joint on the curb. I'd like to know who the owner of this particular DQ is. The service is incredibly inconsistent & they clearly are not all trained the same way. A Hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge should actually have some hot fudge on it. Also, long hair not tied back & very long fingernails is not hygienic when serving food. I'm sick of being disappointed when going to get my favorite sundae in my own home town. Guess I'll go to Middleton from now on where I don't need to even to ask for extra hot fudge. Pathetic. I'm confused by some of the bad reviews, yeah it is staffed by high schoolers but we have never gotten a bad blizzard, shake or ice cream here. i love to write about places i used to work . . . although obviously not a healthy choice the nutritional information is there so you at least know what you are eating. knowing the owners, since they are the same as when i worked there, you can be assured that this place is CLEAN. they are very good about that. dq has so many syrups, candy, etc it's hard not to come up with something you'll love even if the soft serve is only vanilla and chocolate. just don't go for the hotdogs, people very rarely get them so they've been sitting in the freezer forever, nobody really can make them well ,and they are simply pain to make compared to the frozen treats. and yes we would have discussions and compare who makes better blizzards, milkshakes, banana splits, etc. but just the thought of making a hotdog (and usually you can tell who will order one, it's a certain type of weirdo) sent us racing to the back so the other person would have to do it. read more

This is the closest DQ to us but it would have been worth it for us to drive to Middleton where they CONSISTENTLY make our blizzards correct. For the price we are paying we would like to get the right amount of mix-ins. We have paid extra for extra mix-ins and the bottom half of the blizzard was just soft-serve. Last night I didn't want to order a thing because of this but decided to splurge on one of the new blizzards with the fudge core and was so excited until I got in the car and stirred it up to find it was a regular blizzard that I paid more for. If they moved through orders more quickly I would have went back and re-ordered... There is often only one person REALLY working hard and the others are "cleaning" until they are absolutely needed to help out. They rarely smile or speak to customers. It makes no sense, you want tips then earn then. You want business then make the orders correct. I'll drive out of my way to Middleton from now on until I hear there is an adult supervising this location. read more

I went there yesterday at around 6 pm. I have never in my entire life seen such a messy dysfunctional work place. There were 5 people in staff all wearing different clothing no uniform or dress code. Also none of them had a clue what they were doing. When we walked in there were 10 people already ordered all waiting for icecream. We went up to the register and we weren't talked to or even looked at. While waiting we noticed every person there was angry and disappointed with their soupy ice cream. After waiting 10 minutes and seeing the way the ice cream looked we decided to leave. Needless to say we will never be going there again! read more
