Filthy place and young kids not handling food properly. Funny thing, my husband is a B.O.H. inspector and I explained seeing food being dropped and put into a burrito bowl quickly, not changing gloves on and on. I'm not usually one to complain, and I'm also a very picky eater, so I understand that ordering a bowl with only two ingredients can be annoying. I also work in the food industry, so I genuinely try to be patient and understanding of what goes on behind the counter. That said, this visit was hard to ignore. I typically avoid this Chipotle because it's known for being skimpy and difficult to work with, but sometimes you don't have another option. I only get two ingredients, so I always ask for extra and a double scoop. I usually just take whatever I'm given without making a fuss, but this time the bowl was shockingly small I know I'm one of many reviews saying the same thing, but there's a reason for that. I was here last night picking up a delivery, and the experience was unreal. It wasn't even busy. As orders started coming out, I told an employee named Casper who I was picking up for. I've seen him before -- he's extremely passive and acts like he doesn't care. He said "okay," walked to the back, then came right back up saying it's being worked on. Meanwhile the store is practically dead, and the cashier doesn't bother asking who I'm waiting on or even acknowledging me. Then another employee comes out with a bunch of orders (none of which are mine), so I asked again about the name I'd given earlier. She says she'll check, disappears in the back for a while, comes out with more orders, and only then tells me they don't have it because another driver stole it. I stood there for 30 minutes just to be told something they should have checked within the first 2 minutes. Any other restaurant at least greets you, asks who you're picking up, checks the status, and communicates. Here, I was ignored by everyone. Casper never checked at all, even though he told me it was being made. This location constantly has issues with customer service, and even the orders I do deliver often end up being wrong. Fix your communication and your pickup process. Make sure drivers are actually confirming their pick ups and not stealing them. Credit card called during attempted pick up for a Fraud Alert for billing 4 times for food that was never prepared, yet the app showed it had been picked up. Staff were uncooperative and uncommunicative. Get Chipotle often, will not return to this location. Music was loud - making poor communication more difficult. Also noted while waiting for attempted pick up, that there was no ice in the drinks machine and no carbonation in drinks machine. read more

Went at 2pm. Tables messy with food from prior guests with no one sitting at them or anyone cleaning up. That should have been my sign to turn around. Out of white rice, cheese, carnitas and more. Guacamole was not mashed but chunks of avocado. Chips were stale. Didn't look clean on the back end and everything in my bowl was from bottom of container so no idea how long it had been sitting. I ate a few bites when I got home but threw it away as I was honestly nervous that I may get sick from cross contamination or food sitting too long. Will never be back. read more

Second time I've given this place a shot. This is the worst chipotle I have ever been to in my life. Both times. The food is room temp. Within 5 minutes of being served (not Mobile order) literally standing there. It's room temp meat. Both times. The rice is hard as if it's very undercooked. This is a serious food safety issue. This company needs to warn people of how backed up they are on the website before we order. My order was for 2:30 and I have just received it at 3:15. I feel very bad for the employees. I can see that they are doing their best to fulfill the orders while getting grilled by angry customers. I don't know what happened here today, but the photo included in my review is of orders from around 12:30 just sitting there. I assume it's people that were on lunch break or something and just took an L. This is the second time in the past few months that I found the location I ordered from was having some major issues. If zero stars were an option that's what I'd leave. I came here thinking night for the local school Fundraising night. At 5:30 they had no beef of any kind, no fajita veggies, no chips, brown guacamole, no soda except Mr. Pink and dried out chicken. This store looks like the staff just gave up. If the Chipotle workers are trying to get the Beverly location shut down they are doing an OUTSTANDING job. I ordered a simple bowl with chicken, rice, salsa, sour cream, etc. after a long day at work. Whoever made the bowl slapped a cup of rice in with a sprinkle of (4 pieces) of pepper and some black beans. Nothing else. This is the second Chipotle on Cape Ann I've visited and if it wasn't dirty it was sure to be half assed. There should be two categories for rating here. One for the food, which is great, and one for the service, which is ludicrously bad. If you order online to shorten your experience at the restaurant be prepared to watch a dozen people get their food before yours comes out from the mysterious back area. The people in the back must have power over the front because the front people won't even go back there to check on the order. I challenge you to identify anyone who is in charge at this location. The worker checked the back and said it would be "4-5 more minutes" (mind you, this was 45 minutes after I placed the online order). This store is such a joke if one of the employees applied for my business I would not hire them just based on the lack of caring. They don't care to clean, don't care about customer service and generally don't care about this business. The store is so dirty that I am shocked the Beverly board of health hasn't shut them down. They were rude to 3 different groups of customers that were waiting on orders that were 15-20 min late from being made. Then when they get questioned they actually get mad at the customer. I was patiently waiting for it only to find out they weren't fulfilling online orders because they were short staffed and out of everything. There was no sign on the to go racks to get in line. Which was rather long. Then I wait in line to get order but they were out of so much. They did not have chips. They did not have Queso. They did not have veggies. They also were out of lemonade which was the drink I was getting my son as he does not drink soda. These people are beyond incompetent. I just went into the filthy restaurant for an order placed online. Kids quesadilla meal. I had a couple of recently good experiences, which followed pretty poor ones. I decided to trust them again. I figured: how can they omit the main part of the meal, that is, the quesadilla itself? But they are useless . They cannot help themselves. The quesadilla was missing. Never again. I gave them a couple of chances, I thought they were going to redeem themselves, but they are beyond hope. I love the Peabody, MA location but Beverly--take some pride in your work please. -Tiny portions compared to every other location -Slimy rice -Forget ingredients EVERY time I've ordered online. -Chicken was chopped into ridiculously small shreds.. Not the first time a takeout order was terrible, probably the 5th time and think we've finally learned our lesson. Ordered a chicken burrito bowl, a carnitas burrito bowl, and chips and queso. Chips and queso never showed up, we got 2 chicken bowls instead with some barbacoa for good measure. One had plain uncooked jalepeno and green pepper (I ordered fajita veggies?) and both were missing beans which were supposed to be on both. I have never had a good experience with this location. They lack enough staff to keep the place up and running so you have to catch them at the right time and even then, you will be disappointed. The first time I went there, it was 11:15AM and doors were locked but employees sat in the dining area just looking at me. I was confused because the hours on the door said they opened at 10:45AM. I looked online and it said 12PM which I wish they would state somewhere in person. The second time I tried to go, they did have a sign, and it said they were only open from 12PM to 2PM and only for online orders. I tried to give them one last chance, did an online order just to be safe. I ordered a burrito bowl with the new garlic steak and extra lettuce and a regular burrito with the same steak. The burrito bowl did not come with extra lettuce, there was actually no lettuce in there. The burrito however came with lettuce, but no steak at all. read more
