Visited my uncle who lives in Salem and he brought us here as part of his tradition where he comes here for a to go meal to bring with him up the road for a picnic. The area was on a fairly busy street so parking may be a bit tricky. Going in, it reminded me of Chipotle but with more and better options to customize what you want! I went with the Pit Bowl with rice, chorizo, mango pico de gallo, pineapple, onions, lettuce, cilantro, and guacamole. I was very impressed with how much food was packed in my bowl! It was definitely worth the price with how much they put in anything you get. It was so much food that I definitely couldn't finish it and had enough for my dinner! Great place! Takeout only basically. Absolutely love a good family owned business and happy to pay a higher price for it. The burrito, bowls, and quesadillas are always great, also love their taco Tuesday night! Like a chipotle set up but 10x better. Incredible, amazing, fabulous!!! Local and family owned, can't beat that. Sasha was working and was such a pleasure and so helpful with food decisions. I love food and was in the area and saw great google reviews for this place. Just wanted something small to snack on after the beach. Got chicken empanadas with their special sauce (forgot the name). The chicken was so tender and the flavors were great. Empanada was nice and crisp, tried it with the sauce and amazing. I can keep coming back for just these. Also got chips and guacamole, probably the best guacamole I've had! A must! Place is new and cute, had no seating but great take out and everything was fast. Take away only, but EXCELLENT food and wonderful service! I ordered a custom bowl with shredded chicken, refried beans, rice, onions, cheese and guacamole, and it was fabulous. Plus it was large enough that it made 2 meals for me. I also tried the chicken empanada with PitMac sauce and it was the best I've ever tasted. Their guacamole is amazing as is their queso and their PitMac sauce. These guys know what they're doing and they do it with smiles and friendly attitudes. I highly recommend!!! read more

It might be a little hole in the wall; but it is fabulous!! Take out only, but they have the best Empanadas you can find on the North Shore!! And the best guacamole as well. They make their own chips, salsas, and everything!! You won't be disappointed if you like the types of foods they offer. read more

I ordered food first time here and our order was wrong . I called after receiving it since it happens and The owner was so nice about everything . She redid the whole order for us again! We got to Try the white queso she threw in and it's def going on my bowl next time.. Really great food and customer service! Huge burrito bowls filled w/ chicken ,beans and pico. There aren't a ton of options in Beverly Farms that have fast and inexpensive food so this was a needed addition. However if I want good Mexican I'll choose nearby la victoria every time. This was average and inauthentic but again convenient! read more

Glad this place came to the neighborhood. However, The ingredients are okay but they don't steam their tortillas. In my visits the tortillas in my tacos or burritos were dry and would fall apart. I would recommend getting a steamer to up your game. read more

We have eaten her at least a dozen times. The food is consistently good. I love that they make their own Mexican style cheese. The hot sauces are all great, I especially like the pit mac sauce. Taco Tuesdays are a big hit in my house. Also, the service is outstanding. Everyone behind the counter is friendly and attentive. read more

Food from the Avocado Pit is SUPER delicious and fresh - my new favorite spot for mexican food and taco salad Tuesdays! I usually get a taco salad with ground beef and I really love the spices/flavor that Carlos adds to the beef..it's unique and tasty. Carlos makes the best hot sauce, both the little and big kick are great toppings or mix ins for anyone who like some heat. I've also tried the crunchwrap and that was phenomenal - filling, flavorful and a must try. All of the add ons (tomatoes, jalapenos, pico etc) are always fresh so I love trying different combos to make a DIY taco salad. The chips and queso are ADDICTING and I can't say enough good things about this place. Try it, you won't regret it!! read more

this spot is newer to the area ~6 months. tacos were prepped quickly & service was friendly. i liked the beef taco a little more than the chicken one. there's no dining tables but they have nice to-go packaging. would recommend! read more

I ordered takeout from Avocado Pit, this being my first (and last) time there. Got a burrito bowl with chicken, rice and beans, guac, sour cream and pico. First and foremost, why is the guacamole already getting dark/brown? How can you serve this to a customer? Guacamole is a staple of mexican cuisine. The rice tasted like it was Uncle Ben's microwavable 1min, the beans straight out of a goya can. The chicken was shredded, which typically I enjoy in a quesadilla, chimichanga etc but I thought it was weird for a bowl. That's just personal preference, but their website should specify that the chicken is shredded. I ate about a third of the bowl only because I was famished, it truly was that plain and flavorless. I'm not a fan of Qdoba or Chipotle as I enjoy authentic Mexican spots, especially the mom and pop type places. This was surprisingly worse than both Qdoba and Chipotle. 0/10 do not recommend. read more
