I've been coming to this Dairy Queen for over 20 years, and while the service has always been hit or miss, the ice cream has consistently been great. Unfortunately, tonight was a big letdown. I waited in line like usual and ordered my go-to: two quarts of vanilla soft serve. I was then told they no longer sell quarts. Instead, I was offered a vanilla Blizzard with no toppings for $8. When I asked if that was at least equivalent to a quart, I was told no. The employee then pointed to a small, hand-drawn sign saying quarts are no longer available, but from where I was standing, it was impossible to see due to the constant crowd blocking the entrance and menu. What made it worse was the lack of care in how it was handled. I understand employees don't control policy changes, but there was zero effort to be helpful or even acknowledge how disappointing that is for a long-time customer. Out of curiosity, I called another Dairy Queen in Garden Grove, and they confirmed they still sell quarts and have no plans to stop, apparently they're a popular item. That just makes this location's decision even more confusing, especially considering there's another ice cream spot in the same parking lot. After more than 20 years of coming here, this was enough to lose me as a customer. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I was craving an orange Julius.... Yup you read right Dairy Queen makes orange Julius I was in the area and popped in for one and my friend being vegan wanted something sweet too. I read the reviews here but couldn't agree with the bad ones based on my experience. I walked in there was some tall young girl and an Asian lady they both greeted us promptly and started up on my Orange Julius and offered suggestions on what was vegan...some coconut chocolate thing. I visited the store on Sunday around 5:50 PM and had a very disappointing experience. I waited in the online pickup line for about 10 minutes, but no one was attending it. I eventually moved to the order line, where I had already waited patiently for another 10 minutes. When it was my turn, the woman at the front--an Asian woman who seemed to be in charge--gave me unnecessary attitude and lectured me about being in the "wrong" line, instead of helping me. Another customer even spoke up in my defense, but the employee never apologized. This kind of rude and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, especially when customers are waiting patiently. Yesterday, around 3:40, there was an older Asian lady who took my order. She seemed very distracted or overwhelmed while doing so. I needed to repeat my order countless times despite how simple it was, a small cake batter cookie dough with extra of the cookie dough pieces and no sprinkles. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt due to the length of the line. I asked for my order to go. As I returned home, which is 14 minutes away, I noticed the sprinkles were still in my blizzard along with one or two hairs in it as well. I constantly called, and no one picked up for the first few calls. Then, after a while, the same Asian lady picked up the phone (that's what I think I recognized), giving me an attitude for complaining about it. She gave me no option on what I should do about this matter, not even offer a refund for her unsanitary product. As I talked, I then realized I was being completely ignored, and the lady was still on the line, not listening to what I was saying, just leaving me to talk to myself as she left the phone nowhere near her. Needless to say, don't come to this Dairy Queen, especially when there is an issue on their end. It is unsanitary, the person in charge does not seem like they like their job, and customer service is non-existent. And to the Asian lady who seemed to run the store, she should not be running it and has zero control over anything, even over her own actions and words. read more

I went today with some friends, ordered an Oreo blizzard with fudge down the middle. The cashier specifically asked me if I wanted hot fudge or cold fudge, and I said hot. She rang it up correctly. But when my order was ready, the other employee called out that it was cold fudge. Minor, but I corrected her and told her that I had requested hot fudge. Instead of apologizing she rolled her eyes at me before fixing the order! Super rude. Not only that, but there was almost no Oreos in my OREO blizzard! Perfect treats for a hot day! Went in yesterday to meet up with friends. There was a line out the door. The staff was friendly and quick with our orders. The tables were clean, the bathroom was clean. It was also quite entertaining. Sometimes when the staff brings the customer their ice cream, they would hand it to them and flip the ice cream cup upside down. Startled me at first, but the ice cream stayed in the cup. It's always inconsistent here. I ordered a banana split, I got more banana than split. Too much chocolate fudge it was overpowering the rest of my toppings. I get it, inflation but I don't agree with being greedy with the main character of the banana split and that's the ice cream. There's nothing I can say to explain how the lack of ice cream affected my "special treat" today. I also asked for extra whipped cream (I don't mind the extra charge) I also asked for nuts and the fact that they charge almost a dollar for a few sprinkles of it is absurd. I'm not saying, "Guys, we should all run to Dairy Queen because I'm on a diet," just a fun fact. Their Blizzards aren't ice cream, but still have all its sugary goodness. Their website also posts all the nutrition and allergens information with details including the small, medium, and large of its menu. It even goes down to a pickle and onion which is extremely helpful. I don't think I've come across a place that is so detailed. Items are smaller than they used to be and the price went up, but that's how people stay in business and life. The sugary items are delicious and yummy. It's an easy and fast way to get your dessert fix. All their choices make any decision a good one. I'm a Blizzard person and I've had their cakes multiple times. So many candies and chocolate options are an easy craving. So many multiple options to choose from. All delicious. This location is on the smaller side with bar seating, but I've never had an issue. Their staff are extremely friendly and quick. They always have a smile on their face even though it can get frustrating with people trying things out on their phones. I would highly recommend it. If they do, this location doesn't know what it is. As soon as I saw my order, I knew it was going to taste awful. And it did. Unfortunately my daughter and I ordered the same flavor so we were both disappointed. There's no coffee color because there was also no coffee flavor. I told the server, I knew this was going to be a problem. It's white. This isn't a vanilla Heath blizzard, it's supposed to be cappuccino. She said she couldn't mix it again, but she could add a few pumps to the top of the blizzards. (Where's the shaking my damn head emoji when I need it!?!) The Cypress location has all the fan favorites. Minus the food. There are no chicken baskets here. Although on the Grub Hub menu it mentioned chicken bites. When she came back in the car, she told me that she couldn't understand the worker who she thought was the manager. I told her that it was okay but the next part shocked me. She told me that she kept asking for a churro cone and the lady kept saying a cup. My daughter gave up and just ordered a s'mores blizzard. It was a big serving of ice cream, I couldn't eat the whole thing. My kids love the cones: plain cone, vanilla or chocolate ice cream and they even dip them in chocolate! They may only have two types of ice cream, but they know how to change it up! They offer many mix-ins, see pic for some of their choices. If I could rate a zero I would. I usually go to this one near my house, but today I was disappointed at the owner's, lady working the front, customer service. I usually don't write reviews, but I did not appreciate how she was talking to my little sister about the deal on the blizzards and then later arguing with me on what toppings they never had, which I frequently order/ listed in the app almost as if I was lying about it, especially how I was not upset but calmly asked what they did have. I did not appreciate the dismissive attitude and glares received to the point where I had to walk out of this establishment. Definitely will not be coming back! read more
