And if you go, I already know what I'm recommending: get the Orange Bang and MAKE SURE you get the seasoning on the fries. Trust me, those seasoned fries with an Orange Bang just hit different. The rating is for the food and service. Parking is a but tight with the drive thru line right in the middle of a narrow pathway to go in and out. It made it super difficult to maneuver in and out when people don't pick a side and drive straight in the middle. Ordering is in the front with the menu behind the partition, which made it hard to see and read. Standing there trying to read it with the staff standing there staring at you waiting for you to order is awkward and uncomfortable. So you feel like you gotta hurry and just order something. We got the club sandwich, bacon burger, grilled cheese, fries, onion rings, zucchini and 3 drives for like $59. Seating is where it went downhill. Outdoor seating only, which is fine. However, there were so many flies. So many. One lady, who was dining with her person, had like 8 flies on her back. We walked by and they flew away. Once we got our food and sat down. The flies came. We were eating super fast to leave. It was annoying swatting them away as we ate. My husband said never again. I enjoyed my food and loved the zucchini. I came here specifically for the zucchini since I've seen it raved in shorts and on other reviews. I would come back only for drive thru if I'm in the area. My husband and I visited this establishment on a recommendation from a coworker. They don't quite have an indoor eating area, it's open ended if that makes sense. The dining area was a bit crowded, but we were able to get a table near the exit so it wasn't too bad and we had a nice breeze coming through. We stopped by at around 12:15 pm and it was starting to get crowded. We agreed that the food was a solid 4 out of 5. The patty was good, but we did feel that the burgers had wayyyyyy too much lettuce. I also wish that the contents of the burger were listed somewhere. Anytime we bring up going to the City of Los Alamitos, the first recommendation from any of our neighbors is always volcano burgers. Not until recently have we had a chance to go and actually try it and man, were they right! Yes, it is your standard local burger joint but everything we ordered was delicious and cooked to perfection. The corn dog and fries were extra crispy, and the hamburger tasted so freaking good. Every layer went together perfectly. Came here on a tueaday around 11:30 no wait to order. Parking on the side and some seating on the patio. Ordered a hamburger with grilled onion. Today, Thursday 10/1 the gentleman working the counter around 3pm ish was exceptional! Very kind worker! I thought I had reviewed Volcano Burger a long time ago, it's one of my favorite burger joints ever! Discovered this place a few years back looking for a hidden spot to frequent. It's always a packed line and people usually in the front ordering and filling up their eating area, I'd recommend grab and go here. The burgers are amazing, big in size, taste better than fast food style, more like the entry level restaurants. I'm a big fan of their fries and fried Zucchini. Got the onion rings this time, it's always overflowing in portion to the serving sleeve. Decided to switch up the Lava Burger with the Fish Burger, it's good to go! Didn't order a shake this time but usually do, they're big servings and the same quality as the rest of the menu. If you're looking for a local, mom & pop burger stand, look no further. Volcano Burgers is literally a walk up window, order, sit outside under covered seating, or drive-thru and take it home. There is no inside seating. It's across from Los Alamitos High School, so I'm sure it gets busy. Fortunately, we stopped by during a non-busy NYE morning, so there was plenty of parking. The junior cheeseburger was the perfect amount, but the bun is seedless. The half order of zucchini fries were huge and delicious. Can't imagine how much bigger the regular order would be.
