Best ice cream in this area hands down. Always consistently good, great portions and fair prices. Highly recommend the dirty water and the peanut butter cookies and cream flavors. Staff are very nice, my dog loves the little pup cups with doggies treats. read more

We love soft serve! We heard locals talking about this spot while at dinner - we had to try it out! Our girls got soft serve, I got a dole whip, and boo got a banana split! read more

Best soft serve around, great banana splits and all kinds of flavors. People don't mind waiting it's that good

Our son recommended Dairy Cream,we came off 95 from Vermont, he came from Simsbury. Just the right yummy break we needed. Easy off easy back on. read more

I mean, what can you expect from a seasonal ice cream stand? A LOT! Lol. Private parking lot with plenty of spaces and a decent seating area off to the side shaded by many trees. The line was off the deck, down the stairs and a little onto the asphalt, but according to some regulars... the line often wraps around the building and into the sunset. I'm glad we came on an "off" day it seemed. They offer soft serve and hard ice cream in a variety of flavors. Call me boring, but I went with the cookies 'n' cream, 2 scoops in a waffle cone. I mean, it was good, nothing I'd drive hours to get, but it was good, solid. I'd come here again if I'm in the area. So if you're around, stop on by. You won't be disappointed. read more

Lines tend to be long because it's a local favorite but don't let that stop you. The lines move really fast! Best ice cream around more value for your money than Friendly's read more

Best ice-cream place in Connecticut! Great customer service, good portions, and they have the best hard ice-cream flavors: Graham Central Station is the BEST! read more

Dairy Cream is your classic local seasonal ice cream stand. I love both the soft-serve and hard ice creams. So creamy, great mix-ins and selection of flavors. Nice relaxing place to meet friends and family for summer ice cream. read more

Dairy Cream - Great selection of hard ice creams! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Windsor Locks, Connecticut

Can't believe nobody has reviewed such a landmark ice cream place. There's nothing fancy or extravagant about dairy cream, it's just your classic drive up and order at the window ice cream place. They have soft serve in hard pack as well as dips and sundaes. Prices are very reasonable as well. read more

Dairy Cream you have a fan! Came here after dinner a few miles away at a friend's suggestion. I love hard ice cream and Dairy Cream has lots of choices (soft serve, hard ice cream, sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, etc). I went with chocolate chip hard ice cream, my hubby had Oreo hard ice cream and our friend had a vanilla soft serve cone with sprinkles. We all enjoyed our ice cream very much. My chocolate chip was one of the best I've ever had. There are benches to sit and enjoy your sweet treat and a private parking lot. The servers were funny and courteous. I'll definitely be back! read more

A Windsor Locks institution. While it is no Coldstone, Dairy Cream is still a great place to grab a cone and sit out on the picnic benches while the planes come in. It is also right next to the National Guard depot, and before the war there used to be hundreds of heavy vehicles and machinery parked right on the other side of the chain link fence. It was pretty cool to see that, especially as a kid. Hopefully when the war is over the vehicles will be back in the lot. Anyway, Dairy Cream is perennially staffed by enthusiastic workers who keep the long lines moving fast. The treats are a good value for the money on the size-price scale. You will not be dissapointed. If you have a hankering for soft serve and are even remotely in the area, stop by Dairy Cream. read more

Great prices, decent flavor selection. I was satisfied but not wowed - kind of a standard menu in my opinion, which is why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars. read more

I'm not sure what took me so long to try Dairy Cream, but I'm glad I did. Located in Windsor Locks near the airport, the location looks like your typical ice cream stand (just larger). There are typically two open windows taking orders, with the day's ice cream menu by the windows. The ice cream is very good. My favorites are the graham central and the Smores (which has marshmallow ice cream). The ice cream is creamy with great flavor, and the toppings are quite good as well. Service is prompt and friendly. Can't ask for more than that! read more

Great ice cream spot, home of the infamous Disney dole whip. Ice cream is delicious, atmosphere is friendly and laid back. Easy to get to location, definitely glad coworker recommended this spot. Well be back for sure again and again read more

Delicious ice cream, friendly staff, and the BIGGEST servings I have ever seen for the price. The "small" I got for $2.85 was easily a large anywhere else. We are only passing through the area for the night, but if I am ever back, I will definitely be stopping here! read more

Dairy cream has the best soft serve in the area. Always good service is fast. Great stop for a cone.

Ice cream was fantastic! I'm from New York, staying down the road, and we stumbled upon Dairy Cream while having a hankering for ice cream. Tons of options and a great price! read more

Great food, great prices, but always a long line. Best times to go are early evening and late at night. I guess the long lines are indicative of the quality of their products. There was a Coldstone that was down the street, but went out of business and a Dairy Queen not too far away, but nothing can really compete with the newly remodeled Dairy Cream. read more

We've lived in Windsor Locks for almost two years, and it wasn't until a month ago that we discovered Dairy Cream. For shame! The ice cream isn't the absolute best I've had, but it's certainly very good, and there are plenty of flavors (both hard and soft serve) to choose from. The building's facade is cute and vintage-y, and plenty of picnic tables means you don't have to make a mess of your car upholstery! read more

Overall a good place to get ice cream. Tasty ice cream, nice benches to sit, friendly service. As others have mentioned they are a little slow and the line does get long even at hours you might not expect. Prices are pretty good for most items. Milk shakes are a little pricey but are large and delicious. read more

Great soft serve vanilla yogurt. Would be great if they also had chocolate soft serve yogurt to do a yogurt twist. Flurries are so yummy! Would love to see a kids size...the small is pretty big. read more

Seems to be getting better.........have been stopping at Dairy Cream for years, but recent visits seem to be hitting a new level. Enjoyed strawberry soft serve yogurt and it was the #1 BEST SOFT SERVE I've ever enjoyed.........texture was 100% The Best and the flavor didn't disappear after the first few tastes.......all the soft serve is excellent, but this was the best. Always enjoy the chocolate as well as the assortment that varies daily. Portions are generous, selection is great, and service is just really good......pleasant and caring. Keep it up !!! read more

Great place for ice cream and the best ice cream cakes around. I dive in once a week from MA to eat there

What a great place to go on a hot summer evening! I will begin by saying that I was so impressed by the friendly, positive attitude of the young girl who took our order. She was full of smiles and who doesn't appreciate that kind of service?? I got a peanut butter/chocolate milkshake which was delicious! The prices were more than fair and the kids size soft serve cone was generous in size! There were also plenty of picnic tables available. I highly recommend this place :-) read more

It doesn't get any better than this place. Been here since I was a kid. Amazing service.

We're visiting from out of state for my 40th high school reunion and I had to stop here based on Facebook posts and reviews. It did not disappoint!Hubby had soft serve mint chocolate dipped in chocolate and I had chocolate peanut butter swirl hard ice cream. Both DELICIOUS! read more

I don't get to this area often, but when I do, I always try to get to the Dairy Cream. There's something very satisfying and appealing about the basic walk up service and a young staff whipping up the ice cream treats while you watch. My favorite is a "regular" (quite large by any standard) chocolate shake. Thick, rich, and hand made. A great end to a warm summer day! read more

Good soft serve via the flurry, although I didn't try the hard ice cream, my guests noted its deliciousness. Good value with the medium being rather sizable and roughly $4. read more
