Was referred to this company by a colleague so didn't check reviews first. My furnace went down on Dec, 30 2025. Had a company come by and say that my circuit board died and needed to be replaced. They weren't sure if they could get one in a timely matter but would let me know the following day. Since I have a 4th month old at home I didn't want to wait. My colleague referred me to Frank @ Daily HVAC which promptly said he had a circuit board that world work. Carrier units are pretty specific so I mentioned I needed the same board. He said he had it so I drove 45 mins+ to go grab it. When I got there he showed me an after market board that was not even remotely similar to the one I had but was adamant that it would work. I was pretty spectacle and asked if he would do something about it if it didn't work. Frank assured me that he would do something. He then sold me the board for 300$. Fast forward home, I got the board in the furnace turned on (this was around 9pm). Went to bed and woke up around 1AM with the house freezing. I had an overheating error being displayed by the circuit board. I reset it and everything worked fine for around 2 hours where the same error came up. I had to reset the furnace every 2-3 hours so that it would work. I already had scheduled a few companies to come the following day to receive quotes for a new furnace. Every company that came by mentioned that the board was the issue. Later that day I ordered an OEM board for $150 which came in on Friday. (this is after 4 days and 3 nights of me resetting my furnace every 3 hours roughly) I took out Franks after market board and put in the correct board. Since then my furnace has been working perfectly without having to reset. I called Frank back on Friday asking what he could do to fix this issue, along with multiple texts. I wanted to get a refund due to him giving me a bad board. He did not respond to me until Monday saying that he will only refund me 150$ even though he said that he would do something about it if it was wrong. I did not replace anything else in my furnace other than taking out the circuit board. When I mentioned this to Frank he kept blaming other parts in the furnace and kept saying that his board was fine and would work in my unit. All and all I would not recommend Daily HVAC. Looks like Frank and Daily HVAC use after market parts and then hope they work with different furnaces. Not very knowledgeable. read more

After posting this review, the owner contacted me, agreed we shouldn't have been charged a service fee and returned it. While we can't recoup the time lost on an appointment when it wasn't cold enough anyway, I'm relieved that the business made an effort to make things right. So after a second try, I am unable to offer more than two stars (as an average) of both interactions and I am shocked this business has a higher average rating with the customer service issues we experienced not once but twice (July 2022 and Sept 2022). SERVICE (3 stars) Front office (5 stars) Patty, who schedules and answers the phone is great. Thorough, responsive and professional. On two occasions, we were able to get an appointment within a day or so. Technicians and Sales (1 star) The other interactions and resulting service were disappointing and total time drain (waste of time). It's pretty apparent their goal is to sell a new unit (and never perform repairs). BOILER (1 star) This appointment was for a second opinion on a reported carbon monoxide leak from a company who confirmed 30 days before it was in good working order. In short, two techs from the same company, had differing opinions. I explained to Patty in great detail what was needed - to determine whether there was a leak or ventilation issue. Despite this, the tech didn't have the equipment to check this issue. And the company had the audacity to charge us a $150 service call fee after wasting our time! Seriously?! How are we assessed a fee when you didn't perform the "requested" service that we waited at home for. Then the owner, Frank said a boiler can only be tested when it's cold. WELL, why did you send someone out, waste our time and charge us if you didn't check it? Interestingly, the other HVAC company tested twice (July and Sept) in warmer weather (yes it warms the home) and at least one other HVAC said they could but they were pretty booked up. So, in gist, the front office and back office are not on the same page and as a customer, we were left with the expense and loss of time. We were provided a quote for a new one but it should come as no surprise it isn't in writing. See photo. A/C (2 stars) Mini Split, Zoned, Additional Ventilation We called in to discuss options to cool an upstairs and the first floor sun facing rooms since the HVAC and venting doesn't cut it. Varying temps are common in multi level homes that are not zoned. Giant was one of three quotes of options. Each company provided extremely different suggestions, but it's a story for another day. The initial appointment date was completely missed and for the second, the owner came out but was later than the 2 hour window which disrupted our plans for the day. We had to sit around at a home we are not living in hoping they actually showed up. When he called to say he was on the way, there was no apology or recognition that he was over 75 minutes beyond the window. We received a quote and Patty wrote it up. She even called to see if we wanted to move forward a few times.We decided to wait because the proposals and pricing differed and we haven't yet decided which one is best. Not so much. read more

Daily HVAC - Charges on September 2022 - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

If I had known how incredibly poor the owner ran his company, I would've never let the 1st person in the door. Allow me to share my experiences so far. Not 3 months ago our furnace was leaking and cold air blowing. After multiple calls,texts, emails, msgs through yelp, I FINALLY got a tech to come out to quote my issue. Frank is the owner of this operation. He himself came. When he arrived and I had a mask on he did not. I asked him to please wear booties over shoes in our home or remove shoes. This seemed to be a big deal to everyone that came as they never came prepared and always acted upset at me for expecting my home respected. Then Frank informed us, despite the fact the furnace we had was almost new, ( less than 3 years) he insisted it wasn't sufficient for our home. He also insisted that because the ducts run through the crawl space - that we were losing heat. Hence that needed fixing too. Which required insulating a long length of ducts. $6k later and new furnace finally installed. That task alone took almost 2 weeks of calls every day on my part, to their in office person (Patty). Patty has never displayed a friendly phone demeanor when I call, ever. Her standard mode of operation is to simply hang up when she is done speaking. No goodbye. Just click. She presents herself on the phone , like someone who hates life, their job and you. It was so bad I emailed Frank to let him know and that because the office was constantly saying one thing, yet he claimed another, I had to stop that. So I simply said I'd no longer communicate unless it was in writing. Amazing how that works. Because once I refused to continue to be lied, ignored and generally mistreated - it stopped. Because now they we're verbally accountable. Now that she has to deal with me in writing - it's amazing the almost instantaneous and miraculous improvement in her attitude. Now honey drips from her texts. But that's better than her nasty voice giving me attitude and push backs as the customer any day! What happened to the customer being right? Or even respected? Because we've had nothing but issues since the purchase, when I call I'm acknowledged with contempt and annoyance. Patty has argued with me. Lied to me, or she was lied to and passed it along. Frank had the audacity to show up to look at the problem and rather than fix it, he said a part required replacing. He thought he had in stock but would order and have in a day max. However then he chose, to stand in my door for nearly 30 minutes saying what we really needed was a whole home humidifier attached to the furnace. Mind you. We just bought the furnace from this man. He never mentioned anything about this til now. But here he is, blocking my door, not leaving, didn't fix the problem, and began the hard up-sell - ARFKM? I told him straight to his face, before you have the nerve to upsell, don't YOU think you should have first provided a positive sale to start????? How rude of you to come here to fix the brand new unit and try to back me into spending more! For what? His happy Christmas?? Here I sit. Weeks now, no part replacement. Instead they sent some other tech out to clamp a hose and rubber cement the thing to stop the leaking. Rather than repair or replace the unit or the broken part Frank claimed we needed. Despite it being a Brand new unit with a 10 year warranty. However we are still waiting on the part replacement. Which I'm now told won't be coming because he feels the rubber cement and clamp will hold. My parents have a term for this "Jerry rigging". Basically it means a band aid job - low quality and will hold long enough to maybe make to warranty expiration. Yet Frank has texted me to take down my review because technically it is no longer leaking. Clearly this man has not paid any attention. For $6k I expect better. Who would not? In this economy????? I have no idea if the patch job will hold, and with all my heart I pray no one else suffers the indignity, disrespect, contempt and bullshitery we have endured. If I could give zero or negative points I would. Frank you need to get your act together. read more

Our AC system is super old, and I reached out in order to get a quote to see what can be done. I got a response IMMEDIATELY, and Frank was able to come over the very next day to give a free estimate. 10/10, his explanation was actually helpful and he knows exactly what he's talking about. We needed an emergency service for our church and we had a hard time finding a HVAC company that serviced commercial properties timely. Giant HVAC responded with urgency and was able to service us immediately. We are grateful and plan to contact Giant HVAC for any and all our HVAC needs. Def recommend! read more

My furnace was on the fritz and Giant were quick to respond and come out to perform an assessment. The tech gave me a no bs assessment with honest options. They gave me all the options available and didn't try to up-sell me. I decided to pull the trigger on a new one and the installation team was there with my new furnace within the hour. They were fairly quick to install and gave me a rundown on the new equipment. read more

Scheduled a furnace estimate, and was told that the technician would arrive between 3pm and 4pm, and would receive a call when technician was on his way. 4pm - no show, no call. Called office, told that I would receive a call back with an estimated arrival time. 20 minutes later received a call from the technician, and he would be at my house in 20 minutes. Nearly an hour later the technician showed up, wearing dirty work boots. I asked if he had booties, which of course he did not. I asked the technician to leave. If this is how Giant treats prospective customers, what treatment could I expect after I had ordered/paid? Not willing to find out. No thanks. read more

We hired Frank and his team to install three furnaces and three HVAC units in our multiunit building and Frank has missed inspections causing us to incur city fines, failed to show up when he said he would and very disrespectful. My heat went out Friday afternoon.After tinkering around my landlord declared "oh it's the furnace's motor nothing can do till tomorrow". It's January in Chicago 8pm and my apartment was a chilly 55 degrees and dropping. After calling many companies no one would call me back. Loosing hope (and feeling to my extremities), I called Giant as my last ditch attempt. It was 11pm not only did someone pick up they showed up with a new motor for my furnace in less that 30 minutes. My HVAC system was very inefficient and close to 30 years old and it was time for a replacement. I set up an appointment with Giant HVAC and Frank was honest and provided me with the information and options for a new system. The crew came out and replaced my furnace and AC system within a couple days after I met with Frank. The crew showed up on time and were very professional. They got the job done and left me very satisfied with the results. I would highly recommend Giant HVAC to anyone who needs a replacement for their system. You call them and, no matter they answer the phone or send you back a msn, and no matter how many times you try to contact them about your appointment, their answer is allways the same: "I will call you back". I have an elderly aunt and uncle who live in the Chicago area, still in their own home, and their AC suddenly went out over the weekend, and since they are not very tech savvy, I quickly went to work calling local HVAC companies in the area. Giant HVAC were the quickest to respond, and they were out the very same day to repair their AC, so they wouldn't roast in their home... Their speedy and friendly customer service is top notch, and I would highly recommend them to other westside and northside Chicago residents! When I had the attic above my condo insulated, the insulation crew discovered that the 15+-year-old intake and return vents were in terrible shape (big gaps between sections, torn insulation, etc.) and would need to be replaced. After calling several places, I went with Giant, who offered a very competitive price and were able to send someone out quickly. The tech showed up on time, got the new ducts installed, and even came back the next day at no extra cost to wrap more insulation around them. I was satisfied and will definitely consider them when the day inevitably comes to replace my furnace. read more

Absolutely great experience, Frank is on top of his game with HVAC systems. I have called in 3 different companies and everyone of those quoted me for all sort of things (obviously the price was much higher because of that) but I just sent him the furnace model number and told him about my assumption of what's wrong and he corrected me over the phone without even looking at the system that it must be the module not the motor+module combo... saved me couple of 100s from the next estimate. This company never showed on time and most times not at all. They never bothered to call to say sorry or they were on the way or make up any excuse. The repairs they did were temporary--lasting a month only (although I paid a lot for a permanent fix) and, when notified, they never returned to make the appliance work. Stay away from them at all costs. read more
