I would've given this place a higher rating had we not set for more than 20 minutes before flagging down a wait staff for help. Apparently, the waiter assigned to us was too frazzled that day and so we sat until another wait staff agreed to take care of us. We sat outdoors on the deck as the indoors was closed that day for lunch. There's a very nice view of the lake. The food was good and everyone at my table of four enjoyed their meals. I ordered the soft tacos which came with either chicken or beef. I ordered the chicken. The chicken was tender, and the three tacos were generously stuffed. My choice of side was the coleslaw and this was also generously sized and had a really good flavor. Not the sweet kind Which some people prefer. read more

Stopped here for late lunch with group of friends on vacation. I am GLuten intolerant and there were a few items on menu I could order. Ordered the nachos with chicken. It was probably the worst nachos I have eaten. The Cold nacho chips were poked on top of a small bed of iceberg lettuce, lots of sliced black olives, tiny bit of tomatoes, little bit of chicken and some Cheese queso... and don't order the ice tea... it is not brewed daily, it comes from the bar so not sure what it really is.. the view is great but that is where it stops. Stopped while Doing a circle tour of the Adirondack Scenic Highway - we wanted a place with patio on a lake on this beautiful summer day and we scored! A patio table overlooking the lake, spot-on servers (so friendly!) and quick service without feeling rushed leads me to a 5-star review. A crispy chicken sandwich with a side salad and a fish platter with fries along with two draft beers was under $60 which we felt was very economical for a tourist town venue. Food was all tasty, fresh and hot. Beer could have been a bit colder (my personal opinion). Reading reviews is helpful but be aware that almost all of the 1 or 2 star reviews are from over six years ago and dealt mostly with staff issues. Be assured that is not the case now! read more

I have enjoyed going Daikers for many years. It's an amazing location with great charm. The service however is the worst I've experienced in a long time. Don't go here if you have 3 people or less in your party or if you're not there to drink. They will not check on you for refills or any other needs. Your food will also arrive extremely late, so late that the other members of your party will be finished and ready to go. And don't worry they won't offer to take money off your bill or a free cookie to compensate for your horrible experience. What felt like a $45 meal was $90 and very mediocre. Save your money and go to Slickers, might smell like a urinal cake there but at least won't feel like you're being taken advantage of. read more

An okay bar in the area. Came here with a group of friends on a Saturday evening. They had a live guitarist, an entire arcade room, and various other games you can play. Billiards was the main hit. If you wanted to play something, there's a good chance it will cost you a few quarters, including billiards. Drinks are pretty standard, with varying select unique drafts on tap. Apparently there's a tradition where the ladies can get up on the bar and flash their tits to be able to hang their bras on the antlers of one of the moose heads hanging on the wall. Waited forever to be sat. Busy waitress kept saying we will get you and finally another waitress talking to a guy at the bar sat us but was obviously put out about it. Ordered appetizer of "pork wings". Tasty but waitress refused to bring plates, napkins or utensils, just tossed the bowl and left. Ordered dinner, still no utensils or napkins so we sat there trying to figure out how to eat it. Finally got utensils but one of our party never got her whole order...just got a plain piece of fish...nothing else. The food was nothing to brag about and super overpriced but the service was the worst experience I have had in my 65 years on this earth...the worst....bar none. The food was cold when it came out and the service was HORRIBLE. Our waitress took 30 min to come to the table after we sat down and was literally incoherent. Came here for lunch on a Sunday after paddle boarding all day in Old Forge. I've heard so many good things about Daikers so I figured we would give it a shot. The host was a young guy who took down our name and told us it would be around a 40 minute wait for a table outside. The outdoor bar was packed so we went to the inside bar and ordered some beers. The restaurant inside is enormous and has a full bar and a game room for kids. The crowd consisted of OLD couples and old biker dudes, and the bartenders weren't pleasant what so ever. They don't even have a cocktail list which is weird. I was expecting a creative bar menu like the majority of the restaurants in Old Forge have. The view of the lake from the deck is beautiful. People dock their boats right below the restaurant, walk up the stairs to the deck and grab food/drinks. The menu is large with endless options. I ordered the southwest chicken wrap which is baked chicken, black beans, corn, lettuce, & tomato with salsa ranch sauce on the side & a pickle. Comes with your choice of bagged potato chips or coleslaw with an up charge for fries. The food was OK but nothing to rave about. I felt terrible because an elderly man with a walker almost fell over trying to get up the steps from the deck. The deck is small and kind of crowded. They should 1. Make a creative drink menu & 2. Have a fire pit below the deck on the grass by the boating dock with lawn chairs so there's room to hang out and enjoy drinks outside. If there's no room on the patio you have to wait inside for your table. Overall, It's a nice spot to sit outside and eat lunch but out of the many options in Old Forge they have a lot of competition. They have a lot of potential to make this place better than it is. read more

So disappointed. This is not the Daikers it once was. Being one of the only restaurants on the Fulton Chain, one would think dockside takeout isn't something out of the ordinary. We arrived via pontoon boat and looked forward to an old favorite spot, sadly I don't believe we will return there as the service was awful. My husband and nieces went up to order the lunches for us. The waitress looked lost when asked if we could do takeout, and replied well we are pretty busy so I'll have to check with the cooks. There were 4 tables being used on the deck and none inside and she said they were busy. I wonder what the waitress would have thought if she had to work a shift there in the early 2000s (if she thought 4 tables was busy), every table in and out full and people lined up on the staircase waiting. She returned and said they could take our order, hallelujah! They placed our order (for 9 people) and asked if she could call or text our phones when it was ready. The waitress stated its not possible and to come back in 45 minutes to get it. We returned and got our food, once back on the boat we found that they only gave us 7 of the 9 meals we ordered. My husband walked back up and asked for the 2 missing meals and was told they would have to make them and it would be another 10-15 minutes. Wow, this building is so impressive. I'm just so amazed at how nice it was and how much there was to it in the Adirondacks. We came in to watch the Kentucky Derby, which was on multiple TVs throughout the bar. We ordered the appetizer mix which was good, but basically just a basket of fried food. My friends ordered the French onion soup and a another soup, I don't remember what it was. What was really impressive was the design of the building inside, the back deck which was large and right along a beautiful lake, and they even have a game room for the kids. The bathrooms were very clean and modern, which I appreciated. They had a pool table, booths, and the indoor and outdoor bar. Definitely a great place to hang out. read more

Nice family restaurant but also great late night bar. There are a bunch of options for kids to enjoy themselves...video games, shuffle board, ping pong, pool... It's a lot of fun. There is also a fire place too warm up next to. Big snowmobile location, you can come up from the lake. Food is good. I tried their broccoli cheese bites and basically tasted like deep fried broccoli cheer soup. Served with a thick ranch sauce. I can't wait to order it again!!! read more

Always was a fan BUT tonight was the last straw. Our 22 year old daughter and her two friends of the same age were with us at dinner. The waitress proofed them, all good. Y husband and I left and which point the waitress and manager decided to Target them. They were asked for their IDs again, they were scanned no issue, the manager still claimed they were fake and asked them a ton of personal questions. He finally let them order a round, charged them full price, but didn't put any alcohol in any of the drinks. I am all for helping places survive coviid but this was down right out of line and wrong. A necessary evil I guess. I've been going here for 10 years. The food in is expensive yet edible. The owners seem to be raging stage 9 alcoholics, they seem to be doing you a favor to serve you as they sit at their bar and drink their own weak drinks. The location was great and the view on the outside balcony was awesome. Beautiful fall day. There were quite a few people both in and out. The wait for a table was a minute or two but once seated it was great. Scotty our server was very accomodating and kept us informed as the number of people before us had ordered a large amount of clams. He kept us happy with drinks and information. If I could leave no stars I would. I've been here several times and its always been great. I always buy a hoody or shrit everytime I visit because I really enjoyed the place. Tonight was a different story. I understand with Covid there's limited seating etc. I got there at 6 to eat dinner and the place was pretty dead. The hostess went to seat us at a dinner table in the game room, we asked to sit in a booth with several open and were rudely told no. Thats for bigger parties. Mind you the table we were being seated at sat 4 people also. We were treated like nobodies. The other people sitting in the game room had kids running around etc. We were there for a date night, not to hang out with other peoples children. We'll never go back. Daikers is one of my favorite places to go, whether it be a bite to eat or to just chill on the outdoor patio and drink a beer. Went here today (4th of July) wicked busy.. when we got there they said we would have about a 45 minute wait , no biggie. The only down fall is (usually) during the summer months they only have out door seating with minimal tables. They have an indoor and outdoor bar, which over looks a beautiful lake. You can dock your boat and come up and grab a bite. They also have live music & entertainment all year round. read more

Artery Cloggers...we have enjoyed our beer/dinners at Daikers, but I was shocked that the 10 wings for 10.99 was up charged to 17.99, with celery and blue cheese up charged from 1.00 to 4.00. What a great place to just chill out. We stopped in for a break from the cold and had worked up an appetite snow mobiling. The fire pit warms the core instantaneously. The service was a lil slow, but no one was in a rush. The chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks were pretty typical. But then came the heart attack fries and tots. The heart attack fries were covered in cheesy goodness and bacon. The tots should have been called artery cloggers because these were more amazing than the fries as they were covered in gravy and havarti cheese. I'm looking forward to coming back in the summer and playing some pool and shuffleboard. read more
