A sushi restaurant that works for those who eat a late lunch like me. (I am just glad they don't close at like 2pm-ish like other places.) The restaurant is clean and the food was pretty good. When I came with my sister, we still were able to order the lunch combo special, which I felt the price range was decent. The combo we chose was for an order of a premium roll and also an appetizer for $20. Not bad at all. My sister and I ordered the Vegas Roll and the Tiger Roll, and both were good. I especially want to give recognition to Trinity, our server, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. The amount of good memories good food and overall greatness every single dai fix experience can never be topped. It wasn't too busy during lunch time but the service was fast and friendly. My servicer, Joshua was so kind and helpful with explaining the menu and specials to us. I ordered about 6 nigiris. Came here on a whim because we were craving some sushi but didn't want to eat something to heavy. The restaurant has a couple bar seats with a several tables. The staff super nice. During that time they had half off sushi so we opted to get something fr the appetizer menu, a couple nigiri pieces and a roll to share. The spicy tuna crispy rice was probably the best item there but for 4 pieces it was $10 which seems expensive. The rice was cooked perfect crispy, the tuna had good flavor and the drizzle of eel sauce and mayo were not excessive. The nigiri pieces were decent, pretty fresh but didn't have a wow factor. I love this place, it's my go to spot and I put a lot of people on this underrated spot. Service is always good and the sushi is to die for!! I've been here multiple times and it's been consistent, the place is small but everytime I come it's usually not busy. The sushi is one of my favorites to eat here in OC, it's sooo fresh and I could never get sick of it. Presentation is god tier, as if its a high end place but the prices are so fair for what you get; it's the best. 3.5 stars! The 5 star reviews led me to believe it was really top tier quality. For a casual sushi place, it's affordable and the sushi is pretty good. It's definitely not amazing but I would recommend if you want to get your sushi fix. The only complaints I had was the Japanese scallop was slightly dry and the crab meat in our roll had an interesting texture. It was kind of hard, is the best way I can explain it. Sushi was really good! My partner and I were craving ayce sushi but saw this place opened up nearby and decided to just get a taste instead. We ordered the salmon belly, salmon, yellowtail, scallop, japanese scallop, eel, fried oyster, and a mega beer. Service was a bit weird, they checked up on us about 6x during the ~30 minutes we were there and we were just doing the same thing... eating.. it was good the whole time so no need to constantly ask imo... Also the waitress took our beer before we got to finish it, which was weird too. Kinda annoying, because they wouldnt have closed for another hour n half. She didnt even ask if we were finished with the beer- just took it because we were already closing out. The crispy rice spicy tuna was super crispy and perfect. The only miss that we tried was the dynamite. It just didn't taste that great with all the vegetables lol. I got blue fin tuna, toro, yellowtail belly, salmon belly, salmon, albacore , miso black cod , amberjack, seabream, karage , toro handroll. The plating was aesthetically pleasing. Each bite of the nigiri was just fresh and melting in my mouth. I was more than pleased with my experience here. Must I say you have to try the miso black cod sweet and buttery . They've been open for about a year. The place is rather small but the wait isn't so bad. I feel like they'll get busy once the word spreads. From the nigiri section, we ordered Japanese scallop, amberjack, sea bream, salmon, yellow tail belly, salmon roe, flying fish roe, salmon, squid, Spanish mackerel, and the miso cod. I'm torn. Because of the rice in the sushi, I have to say 4 stars. The rice was a bit on the hard side and didn't have the natural sweetness and flavor that comes from better rice. However, the fish was really good. The deluxe sashimi plate deserves 5 stars! The oyster shooters were a little disappointing. The shot glass was too deep and had too much liquid with the little oyster which diluted the flavor of the oyster. It was also on the spicier side which again covered the flavor of the oyster. Ordered bento box but beef terriyaki was super Chevy, it seems made of very low quality meat. Bento box doesn't have tempura and other sides as most of the places offer. It is as very plain, it comes with some tofu and tastes not good. It was what I used to bento boxes that I have most of the places.
