I'm extremely disappointed with the service during my visit today. I go in regularly, and this is not the first time I've seen poor management here. I came in while clearly in a rush, and once again there was only one worker doing absolutely everything--taking orders, helping customers, and handling things in the back. Meanwhile, the manager (a man who appeared to be in charge) was just wandering around, on his phone, and doing anything except actually working. I personally watched him avoid helping, even as the employee was visibly stressed trying to keep up. She did her best, and honestly, I felt bad for her. This is not a situation where the employees are slacking--the issue is 100% management. A manager should step in when it's busy, support their staff, and make sure customers are taken care of--not hide, scroll on their phone, or walk around without purpose. Because I come here often, it's frustrating to see this repeatedly. Unless something changes with management, I won't be returning. It's disappointing and unfair to both paying customers and the employees being left alone. read more

Staff were patient with questions and were very efficient with helping costumers in a timely manner. We came on a weekday for lunch and they had several customers come in and out of the shop as we were there. My husband and I both had three scoop bowls with salad. I tried the Tuna Luau, Blazing Salmon, and Sweet Glazed Salmon. All three were fantastic, but my favorite out of the three was the Tuna Luau. Portions were appropriate to the bowl size. However, the portion of fish compared to rice was pretty small, while the other ingredient scoops were huge. I ended up eating much more of the other ingredients than the fish. Despite this, the fish tasted great-very clean and fresh. Server confused me a bit while ordering and I was unclear about how to proceed. Proportions of the ingredients to complement the bowl were weird too, for example I asked for a small scoop of wasabi but it ended up being massive scoop, overbearing much of the flavor of the bowl. Ahipoki opened up recently and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite poke places. I like that Ahipoki has a Hawaiian twist to it compared to your standard poke spots in OC. They also have toppings and meats that other places do not have. For instance, they have brown rice and even kelp noodles as a base. I got a half salad and half brown rice as my base. Their brown rice is great. I got it with a bunch of different meats. One that was a little different than other poke places was they offer a kimchi shrimp which was pretty good. I also tried their House Sauce which was a nice shoyu base. Besides their poke, I also got two of their spam musubi. They were good. For large portion of poke and 2 musubi, I only paid $16. I thought pricing here was pretty good. Picking up was quick and easy. The inside of this place was very clean and there was seating inside if you prefer to eat there. The poke is 15.95 for 3 scoops. I haven't been to a poke place in a long time, but the last time I bought poke I paid 13.99 for 3 scoops. I guess the price fits with inflation since then... But alas, the food was delicious and it was nice that they let you sample the fish as well as the sauces! Very cool. The workers were nice and helpful. I ended up choosing the luau tuna and the regular salmon as well as unagi. They were all really good and tasted fresh! I have no complaints about the fish whatsoever! The eel was good, but I think I'd rather have more scoops of fish! Their fish was on point and they gave a healthy amount per scoop! The sauces I really liked from best to least are Soy Garlic, Spicy Creamy, and their House Sauce. I liked all three, but that is my ranking for them! I didn't try any other sauces there though. They were out of avocado for the day otherwise I would've liked to have had some, I guess you should go earlier in the day to avoid the lack of some ingredients. I went close to closing (8pm and they close at 9pm) so I was fine with their lack of avocado. I dined in and had a long chat with my friends so it actually got to like 7 minutes away from closing and the worker was cleaning up, but was nice and told us no rush we still had time, he was just going to clean around us. We did get up and leave anyway. Overall, great experience and good food. Would come back again if it wasn't so damn far from me. I live like 25 minutes away no ty just for poke. read more

There were several workers to assist with orders behind the counter. Unfortunately, the intercom system needs be fixed. The poor workers can't hear you and it's difficult to hear them. However, there were several newer options of fish compared to other poke places. Overall, clean place and service was great, fish was fresh, the portions were smaller than other poke places down the street. I would go back to try some of the other menu items. I was in the HB area and I was in the mood for Poke, so I did some research and decided to try out AhiPoki. When I entered I was greeted and the staff were very friendly. The inside seemed clean and well kept. I chose the 2 scoop bowl, the one thing I will say is that I've never been to a Poke place that used such small scoopers. I was even more shocked that the spicy tuna wasn't part of the 'mix ins ' and the 2 scoop of tuna that I got was equivalent to one scoop anywhere else I've gone. The next surprise I got was I was only allowed one small scoop of any of the veggie toppings ?! I've never ever seen that before, if i wanted even a little bit of cucumbers or Masago or even pineapple I had to pay extra ?? Personally, for $15 I felt like I got a very very small portion of protein and very little mix ins. The sauces were good, the food was good but in all honesty the pricing and portion size was very off for me. I have no criticism against the quality of the food but the price / portion / protein- veggie ratio isn't priced correctly. I personally wouldn't come back due to the pricing and the portion of food. I don't know if there was a bit of miscommunication, but when I started my order, I told the employee that was taking my order that I wanted white rice and add chips (+ $1), which I knew was an extra charge. However, he said "would you like half chips and half rice," which then I replied, "can I do that?," he said definitely. So, to me, I thought, oh okay, I guess I don't have to pay the extra dollar. Once we got through the line and got up to the cash register, I noticed he added in the $1 for the chips and the $1.50 for avocado (Which I did not get).
