Recently tried the new-ish CAVA in HB, and if you're a fan of the build-your-own bowl concept, this place delivers. They offer a few preset bowls, but I'm definitely more of a build it my way person...basically trying to pile the bowl as high as possible with all my favorites. The bowls aren't cheap, but there are a ton of ingredients and flavors to work with, so if you pick wisely you'll end up with something pretty tasty. I went with half steak and half honey chicken, which was a great combo. The steak had nice flavor, and the honey chicken added just a touch of sweetness. The hardest part is always choosing sauces. I grabbed the green sauce, which looked great, and tried to get the orange one too--but they were running low so I only got a couple squirts. Slight sauce disappointment... but still good. I also added the crispies, which gave the bowl a little crunch. Between the textures and flavors you get sweet, savory, a little tangy--lots going on in a good way. The portion was big enough that I actually had some leftovers for the next day, which held up well. Overall, a solid spot if you like the make-your-own bowl places. Lots of flavors, clean restaurant, and a fun way to mix things up depending on your mood. read more

I really want to like this place because the food is actually very good. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are great, and it's one of my favorite fast-casual spots when everything is done right. Unfortunately, the service at this location has been consistently disappointing. The staff often seems uninterested or disengaged, and it feels like customer service isn't much of a priority. I've also noticed that the portions can be inconsistent. Unless you're paying close attention, it sometimes feels like they're skimping on the serving sizes, which is frustrating considering the price. To top it off, my interactions with the manager haven't been very welcoming. I left feeling like my concerns weren't taken seriously. I genuinely hope this location improves because the food deserves better service. With friendlier staff, more consistent portions, and better management, this place could easily be one of the best around. read more

The food was great but definitely won't be returning again to this location. I came here for the first time with friends who had been here before, and unfortunately the experience was not great. Right away we noticed the girl at the cashier did not seem happy to be there at all. I understand it was later in the evening and people get tired, but her attitude made it seem like she was bothered anytime someone asked her for anything. We arrived around 9:00 pm and decided to dine in. While we were sitting there, we heard what we believe was the manager (a white woman with a facial piercing) telling multiple customers who came to pick up orders that their order had already been picked up. This happened at least four different times while we were there. After the third time, I even asked the employee if they had really had several orders taken, because that seemed strange, and he agreed that it was with a smile. Then the manager said it was the same order each time, which didn't make sense because different people kept coming in asking for it. I also heard her say "call HIM, I'll talk to him," and later she said "call HER, I'll talk to her," so it clearly wasn't the same person. It honestly felt like the staff just didn't want to be working anymore. When we got there at 9, they were already cleaning up and putting things away, which made it seem like they were trying to close early even though customers were still coming in. What bothered me the most was that this kept happening and the employees even seemed to laugh about it afterward. It gave the impression that this is something they do often, and that the manager allows it. The owner needs to evaluate its employees and correct this because clearly you can have way more business. Not sure what's going on at this Cava but the food seems to taste too salty now and most of the time the grilled veggies are too burnt to consume. Spoons used to be available but now it seems to always be out or hidden. Drink and tables are often dirty even when it's not too busy. Also, some servers are a bit stingy with the amount of items they put in the bowls. I'd like a full bowl. Therefore, I have decreased visits here, from a couple of times a week to maybe once or twice a month. At least the music is ok, outdoor seating available, and plenty of parking. read more

Upon entry, this Cava is clean, spacious, and super fast. There's plenty of parking. When I went, I was the only one to order but the worker who helped me was so speedy. I kept having to ask her to go back so I can get a little more since their scoops are so small. I love Cava and their ingredients are super fresh. Cava is my go-to when I want a quick lunch or something that feels healthy. Just sad since I noticed they're barely generous with their portions. read more

My partner and I recently heard about this Cava opening on Adams. I've never tried CAVA before since we don't have one in Santa Barbara but I was thoroughly impressed! The recently renovated the space and looks clean. The service was great since it was easily to pick up all of our orders and make any requests if needed. I got the garlicky chicken bowl with all of the free fixings while my partner got another bowl. It was very tasty, paired with their sauces and arugula, and their free side of pita. Chipotle goes Mediterranean. Bowls, wraps, plates. Huge amount of choices should satisfy whatever you're craving. We came here recently and decided to go the "make your own" route. Choose a base (grains, greens, both), choose a main (various meats), choose toppings (they're all good), dips, and a dressing. Excellent. Fresh and portion size is hearty. This is a brand new location for Cava. I went to check it out because it is my favorite fast food restaurant on the East coast. The locations here on the West coast are hit or miss. I think this location has potential once they work out the training for the staff and they get used to the fast pace. The lines were long when I was there but was happy that the portion sizes were good. They fill your bowl to the top here unlike other locations. Everything tastes just as good as I remembered. You can choose 3 dips out of 6-7 choices, you have a choice of protein (chicken is always fantastic) and the unlimited toppings. I always get all of them as they are all good. The salads taste fresh and crunchy. I don't even need the dressing with all the flavor from everything else. My only complaint is the lentils were very undercooked and thought I was chomping on sand at one point. This is in a busy plaza so it might take some time to find parking. But other than that, the food is just as good as the other locations! read more

I would like to say this was the best Cava experience i have to date. I've eaten at long beach, la habra, Fullerton (close second). Although tonight's soft opening was comped, I would totally come back for the same experience again as a paid customer Staff were super nice and the GM was going around checking if everything was okay. I belive her name was Devonne, my memory isn't the best. She was welcoming and offered us those harissa chips. I gotta tell you, skip the pita chips and get these instead. The only downside to the experience was the 30 minutes to wait for the beef. (But I just got chicken instead) and the strawberry lemonade was our for refills. Overall, a 5 star first time experience at this location. Terrific food , terrific staff. There's a small patio and parking is in the shared lot with stater brothers. I went to Cava for the first time Wednesday night around 10pm close to closing. This review is mostly about the service we received that night. The lady helping us was extremely helpful and guided us through the bowl making process with tips, her favorites, and customer favorites. It was the best experience and I was very happy the selections we made. The bowl was full of fresh ingredients and balanced flavors. Hats off to the service that night! They staff was getting ready for closing and we ordered to go so no comment on the ambiance. But again, the lady who helped us was so pleasant and did not make us rush through our order. I love eating CAVA, but this is challenging: Online Ordering: why does it take 30 minutes to do what chipotle can do in 5? The app tells you that your order can be ready in 15 minutes, then you get a text message that adds on an additional 15 minutes to your order time. I hope that the app in the future can adjust accordingly to level set waiting times OR they pick up the pace. This has happened a handful of times. Glad there is a CAVA location in Huntington Beach. I placed an online pickup order for two bowls and mine was completely messed up. One order was a grains bowl with steak, potatoes, and saffron basmati rice, and the other was a grains + greens bowl with romaine lettuce, brown rice, grilled chicken, and harissa honey chicken. However, I was given two grains bowls with steak and saffron basmati rice. I've had CAVA before, but this was my first time at this location and it is surely the worst experience I've had. I'm not sure how you can mess up the main ingredients in an order when you have the order ticket in front of you, but here we are. Bit into my food and damn near thought I broke a tooth! This cava is always missing something different every time I go there (real life examples: avocado, pita crisps, pita chips, harissa chicken, and/or lemon herb tahini). The staff is kind and the rest of the meal is good, so I usually don't mind and keep coming back. But today, the one day that didn't have anything missing, they gave us the hardest brown rice ever. One hard kernel is fine every once in a while. Mistakes happen. But every bite filled with them? What a waste of money and food, because it was inedible. Fresh little party of flavor in your mouth. I came in for a quick bite to eat after hesitating if I should give this place a try again. A few years ago, I tried, and mistakenly got harissa chicken and it was so hot that I couldn't enjoy my food. This time around, I knew it to stay away from the hot chicken and to go with the grilled option and everything was great. The server who helped me with my bowl was so kind and patient and helped me navigate all the different options to put in my bowl. The drinks were delicious and not too sweet which I appreciate because I'm watching my sugar intake. Now I understand why this location has horrible reviews when Cava is soo good. This location (out of the 3 local ones in OC) is the saltiest and their portions are way smaller than the other locations. I barely got any greens for my base and had to ask 2x to get more. They don't give much on the dressing either and when I asked for more, the girl serving me seemed super irate by it. Not great service nor food quality here. Came in on a semi-busy night. There was 3 workers working the counter. Food was great as always, however, service needs improvement. Firstly, the first worker who took care of my bowl seemed new. Not a problem, but he was non-verbal and unwelcoming. The manager Luna, I'm assuming, came over to exchange some words with him and ended the conversation with "don't waste time". I wouldn't like to work in an environment where my manager embarrassingly corrects me in front of multiple costumers. My friend and I exchanged looks as we sympathized for the employee. After, luna took care of my bowl. As seen in the pictures below, my items don't even come near the midline of the bowl. Compared to my friends, hers seemed like the expectation. Tried CAVA for the first time at this newest location and I loved it! Placed an online order for pickup- very fast and ready on time. Cute inside so definitely want to dine in next time. Grand opening rush was a mad house. Im still giving 5 stars as I know its an awesome place but currently its a lil chaotic. YAY!! We got a Cava next to our house. Parking is odd right now, lot of lil patches of open spots. Look around because there is plenty. People before us dragging but and folks behind us running us down, it will be nice when the pace mellows and you can really see all the good stuff they have. They were also running out of stuff fast (again opening rush) We took our daughter that had never been, I know it was frustrating for her because they wanted to move the line and get the orders, but they were on you before you could see the descriptions or hear what was being said. At the end it got super rushed. Everyone was nice but you could tell they got slammed and still needed to get a system going. I was trying to get my app regoing, and needed a new password, never did get it to reset to earn points but I suspect everyone in front of me was doing the same. I think ordering online might be a good work around for the future until it all settles. Over all Im happy this place is here and trust it will smooth out fast, look forward to making it a regular dinner spot. read more

Delicious! This was my first time trying Cava and I was impressed! The food was very fresh and healthy. I ordered the chicken and rice bowl with a side of hot harrisa pita chips. I enjoy the convenience of ordering ahead on their mobile app and they have a nice pick up area. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful. read more
