My husband just turned me on to the "half white rice/half salad" base thing. Wow, its so great that way! I always had so much rice left over at the end and this makes the meal so much lighter. We usually order the large ($15.99), half rice/half salad base, 3 scoops of tuna, 2 scoops of salmon, seaweed salad (+$1.50), crab meat, edamame, avocado (+$1.50), masago, ginger, sesame seeds. I think I'm going to stop getting the seaweed salad since they charge the extra $1.50 and no way is that an equal value to avocado! House sauce (ponzu) with a drizzle of eel sauce at the end. Everything is very fresh. We live super close to this location so it will be added to our To Go rotation.

I had to order the large which gives you five scoops of protein and the selections are really nice but I prefer spicy tuna. I love the interior of the place. It's really cool when you come in they'll start you off by asking how big your order whether it needs to be small or large I took the basic toppings of cucumber and fish eggs and then I had spicy mayo added my first layer with salad, but your choice is salad, or white or brown rice And I ordered Pasco guava nectar for me, it was the perfect meal !! The flavor was perfect to customize I think you'll love the options!!

I came here with a friend to grab a quick lunch and it was perfect. We wanted something light and settled on poki. I'm not a huge poki fan but I really liked my bowl! I got a really simple bowl with salmon and some vegetables and sauce and it was great. The man at the counter was very patient with me. Definitely will come here again

Friendly staff with generous portions and great options. Their are some other places near by but Poke Star is a clear winner. This is my new poke place.

We - one of my gfs and I finally tried this poki establishment for dinner to go. We have always gone to Starbucks and Bubba Sweets. This place is between the two. Stopped by after shopping at Trader Joe's Pretty self explanatory menu. Pick a bowl size, base rice/salad, half & half,, etc, I choose salad - cucumbers, seaweed salad, 3 proteins - tuna, salmon, peppered tuna ,and well sauce/sesame oil and wasabi. All was fresh. Clean, fresh food and friendly customer service. Awesome light dinner. Will definitely be back.

Hands down our favorite poke place anywhere. Big portions reasonable prices and quality fish. The workers are always nice and don't make you feel like you're bothering them like some of the places around here are. Overall best little spot to grab some food and hang out.

Friendly service, good portions for the price and the fish was fresh! Standard topping selections and the sauces I chose were ponzu and the spicy one which made it a perfect sauce for the salad that I had! Will return again next time!

My cousin recommended this place to me during my last visit to Huntington Beach. He was very positive as well as satisfied with the food and the service of North Shore Poke. Their overall service was undoubtedly very good, but the taste and quality of the food were the only aspects that left me disappointed! I went to North Shore Poke Co. for lunch on March 28, 2026 after my visit to Huntington Beach. The place was moderately crowded the time I got in. The interior is nicely designed, capturing a traditional Hawaiian vibe. I chose the custom poke bowl - a small bowl with Rice and Salad, topped with three Hawaiian sauces (Traditional Shoyu, Spicy Mayo, and Spicy Shoyu), along with Ahi Tuna, Salmon, and extras like Cucumber, Masago, and Furikake. I also added Fresh Spicy Tuna and Seaweed Salad, which cost an additional $4.50! What disappointed me most was being charged for the Seaweed Salad, as many other poke spots typically include it as a complimentary topping. Their service was fast, and my small poke bowl was served within 5 minutes. The portion size felt underwhelming, considering the price I paid. The taste was also below average. They claim that their fish is "Fresh", my poke bowl unfortunately didn't reflect that. Most concerning of all, the Fresh Spicy Tuna seemed spoiled and had a very unpleasant smell! When I informed them, they promptly replaced the Fresh Spicy Tuna with Blue Crab. But by that time, I had lost my appetite due to the incident and could barely finish my poke bowl. North Shore Poke Co. might be one of the top poke spots in Huntington Beach, but I would still rank The Poke Place in Rancho Cucamonga and Ahipoki Bowl in Rialto well above it. Most likely I'm not coming back to this place again!

They have a display of the fish that they offer which helps if you are deciding what to choose. Service is friendly and efficient. I ordered a poke bowl with white rice, 1/4 lb of salmon, 4 toppings (crunchy chili garlic, furikake, pickled ginger, and seaweed salad), and Tommy sauce. The rice was cooked fine and wasn't mushy. However, I think that the salmon was a bit mushy and not as fresh as I hoped. 1/4 lb of salmon is pretty generous though and was a good amount of fish. The toppings were fresh--I just wished that I hadn't gotten the crunchy chili garlic. Wasn't bad, but didn't elevate my poke bowl how I wanted. Also wished that I could have chosen more toppings. The Tommy sauce is their special sauce that's like mayo and is quite flavorful. The poke bowl is on the pricier end, so I probably wouldn't get that if I were to come back but would probably try a burrito instead.

The chicken bone in thighs are HUGEEE, a 2 pc plate is definitely a sufficient portion. The fried chicken is some of the best, juicy inside and super flaky and crispy outside. We also got a spam musubi, which was delicious, good spam to rice ratio and yummy sweet sauce. 5/5 musubi. I also tried their DHK bowl which is a huge bowl including poke, kalua pig (or lau lau), seaweed salad, and lomi salmon. I liked that it was an option to try a little bit of everything. The ahi poke was super fresh, with minimal sauce. The seaweed salad was sweet and not very fishy. The kalua pig was tender. The lomi salmon was probably my least favorite because it was pretty salty. I'd rate the DHK bowl a 3/5. Their new menu seems to be focused on CPC chicken with only a few other options. Also note there's no indoor seating, and they only have a couple of picnic tables outside.

I had bookmarked this place but after my experience with their foodstand, I'm hesitant to try their brick and mortar store. So the HoA event started at 10 am. We finally heard 5 minutes until opening at 10:55 am. 11 am came and went. They finally opened at 11:10 am. When I finally place more order, they didn't have the smoked meats or port musubi. What a let down. So I had to order the Kalua Pig and Spam Musubi. When I asked how much longer it would be for the smoked meat, the "auntie" said at least 30 minutes to an hour...which means in Hawaiian...sometime later today maybe before we close. Food wise, it was okay. Nothing special. Definitely not food worthy of going to their store. And they didn't even provide utensils when I picked up my food. Note to whoever runs this at events. If you're not going to open until 11 am (an hour after the event begins) at least put a sign out. And if you're not going to have certain food items ready an hour after you open, do better and be more considerate to the customers who had been waiting over an hour and now walked away disappointed.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh right away, with clean flavors and a great balance of umami, savory richness, and just the right amount of spice. Each component complemented the others well, and nothing felt overly heavy or overpowering. It's easy to see why people say this is one of the most authentic poke spots in the area, the simplicity and quality really shine through. That said, personal preference-wise, I still find myself leaning toward Poke Express in Las Vegas (though to be fair, I've never been to Hawaii, so that might change one day). Price: Pricing is pretty standard for quality poke in Southern California. A regular bowl (about 1/3 lb of fish with rice and a side) typically runs around $15-17, while larger bowls can range from about $19-24 depending on portion size. Overall, expect to spend around $15-25 per person, which feels fair given the freshness and portion sizes. Ambiance: This is very much a grab‑and‑go style spot rather than a sit-down restaurant. It's located right along the street and almost always has a long line of people waiting, which tells you a lot about its popularity. Inside, there's a small bar area with a handful of high chairs, and a couple of tables outside, but seating overall is pretty limited. Not really a place to linger, more for a quick, casual bite. Service: Despite how busy it constantly is, service is efficient and straightforward. The staff keeps things moving quickly and stays organized, so even with a line, the wait doesn't feel too bad. No frills, but solid and dependable. Parking: There's a small side parking lot that can fit maybe around 10 cars, which fills up quickly during peak hours. Otherwise, you'll likely have to find street parking nearby and walk over. Not impossible, but it does take a little extra effort, especially when it's busy.
