Keeping it real folks! Just bought a 3-way...ribs chicken and tritip. Unfortunately all of it was DRY! I thought I'd give it try and I know for sure that I can cook it better. Even with bbq sauce it was still dry. Like old cooked food or food that's been sitting all day still getting heat on them or just cooked way too long. Green beans too salty. Cmon folks...my first time and sorry to say, my last time! I took a few bites of each meat to see if it was just one piece but it was all the pieces of all the three different meats. Sorry but it takes more than one bite to see if one likes it or not. It's not about the money sweetie. It's about how you respond to real reviews from honest people. So one bite full refund and two to three bites then I'm stuck with a full plate of dried bbq. No tenderness at all, sorry to say. What you saw that was left went into the garbage can. So all that uncut tritip, chicken and ribs I saw before closing is supposed to be for the next day? If so, then it's day old food, not freshly cooked. And could be why the food I got was dried up. No worries. Your response says it all. I never asked for a refund. Just hoping a response of come back another time when we have freshly cooked food right off the grill that hasn't been sitting for hours and possibly into the next day drying up all the tenderness. I guess that would be too difficult for you to even consider. No accountability. It's all good. read more

This place has great-tasting BBQ. Highly-recommended! I had a little of everything and it was all fantastic, even the dessert (a peach cobbler in my case). Service was fine. I've came here and have gotten the tri tip and Mac and cheese combo plates and the deliciousness is always there. Mac and cheese is creamy and cheesy. The tri tip is doused in enough bbq sauce, I usually get mild. You can change the spice level. The workers are helpful and welcoming. There's only a few tables in this restaurant. read more

The food here is delicious! However I wish they would charge more OR admit they can't & refuse to offer all dark meat chicken meals. This has always happened to me here. Serious every single time!! Tonight I was tired after a long day of work & Dad's is my family's favorite place. I decided to order. The owner was there & I totally trusted they would finally get it right so I didn't check the food until I got home. WRONG!!! ALL WRONG. I open it up and no dark meat. I drive all the way back . The owner told me "He gave you extra white meat because all of the dark meat is at the bottom. We can take back the extra chicken if you want" So I started digging to the bottom and Eureka!!!! THERE IS ONLY ONE HALF OF A WING THAT IS DARK MEAT! Yay! Really?? lol Then the owner admits to me "We can't break up an entire whole chicken just for a all dark meat order" Then she adds "Are you okay with that?" I told her you aren't offering me any alternatives here so I am forced to be okay & I left. My thing to you (owner of Dad's BBQ) is 1. STOP tricking your customers into believing they can order all dark meat orders. 2. At least provide ONE WHOLE ENTIRE PIECE OF DARK MEAT RATHER THAN 1/2 of a wing. A point of confusion: While technically white meat, wings have a slightly higher fat content than breasts, which can sometimes make them feel more like dark meat to some people," There is no agreement or understanding on any of this. You did offer more chicken yes. However as it was still NOT what I initially ordered. After my previous experience & an invitation to try again from the owner when we spoke, I came & tried Dad's again. My thoughts.. Food was a hit! Everything was good. I walked in to order & waited about 5 mins. Inside is clean & tidy, staff is friendly. I had rib/hot link combo (med/hot bbq sauce), potato salad, baked beans & sweet potato pie. Mmmmmm, the sauce!! I love good bbq sauce. No bread issues, perfect for the sauce! Sweet potato pie hit the spot! Ummmm, I've ordered from Dad's BBQ Lone Tree Way location twice so far; both DoorDash orders and both of my experiences have been great. My first time, I ordered a 3-way combo; links, chicken, tri-tip--my sides were green beans and MAC. My second time ordering, I ordered another 3-way, which consisted of ribs, tri-tip, chicken--this time my sides were potato salad and green beans... the potato salad was really good (I don't eat anyone's potato salad, but my own)! Pretty generous with the portions as well as the sides. The drop in stars was for the cornbread because it is CRIMINAL to charge an extra $4 for a mini cupcake size cornbread that's dry AF! I'll keep it short.. I am done supporting businesses that believe they can play in folks faces. I picked up my food, but did not look (I should have), because this is ridiculous. While the fish has a good batter, the fish was soft (after I asked for it to be fried crispy), and the goo inside of catfish was not thoroughly cooked. I had to put the fish in the air fryer. BUT.. The biggest issue is, cutting up one piece of catfish into small pieces and calling it a three piece! No, ma'am! No, sir! I'll cook at home from now on! read more

Came out to support local businesses at the Wed Food Truck gathering at Brentwood Community Center on Wed. Saw Dad's was here so we gave it a try. The gentleman at the order window didn't seem too thrill to be there as I also had to ask him to repeat himself over the loud generator noise. Ordered the fried catfish and a combo order. We happened to stop in close to closing and they were so nice, not annoyed by us walking in, the BBQ is some of the best I've ever had. This review is about the Dad's BBQ food truck that sold food at the car show in Pittsburg. My order was taken by a small child maybe 8 years old. This was fine but she could have used more training. I asked for mild everything. I received spicy. I bought 2 meals and two desserts. I ended up throwing it all awy. I hate wasting money but it was terrible. The ribs were dry and salty and covered in sauce. The fish and fries were cooked in the same oil. This was not good. Sweet potato pie seemed old and was super sweet like tons of sugar. The peach cobbler was also unfresh. The baked beans and potato salad were very basic. I did not return the food or complain because I did not desire any replacements. I hate wasting money. Got two "3" plates. Order was mixed up with sides and meat in the wrong plates so we had to scoop out the sides and switch the food around. Annoying. Potato salad was not good at all...Has a weird taste to it. $3 for corn bread muffin is crazy, especially when it was extremely dry and tasteless. Tritip and chicken were good! We also paid $16 for peach cobbler that was served cold in a plastic container. Are we supposed to heat it up at home or??? Overall extremely disappointing after paying $120. If there was ever a time when I liked this place, that time is gone. Instead of fall-of-the-bone smoked or bbq'd chicken, theirs had not cooked long enough. The leg was tough to bite into. It took 3 bites to realize it wasn't completely cooked and by that time I had eaten too much. I checked and the thigh was undercooked too. I got sick due to their sloppy standards. The bbq sauce tasted pretty decent but was too sweet and very watery. The sweet potato pie was all of 2" diameter for a.total of 3 bites but cost $6. The ribs were meaty without too much fat but way too salty to finish. For $30 the 2-way combo and tiny pie was over-priced and parts were inedible. That doesn't even include a drink. This was the second time having Dad's bbq. The ribs, chicken, sausage, and tri-tip was good. The rib tips not good and not worth $5 extra. My opinion sorry if you don't like it. I too would rather have a leg and thigh for my chicken instead of cut up. I don't think that would be disrespectful. Potato salad was cold and the beans were hot. Perfect! Mac and cheese were also great. I get the extra cost for that since you make it from scratch. I wish you had brisket and burnt ends. The portions were good. We ordered 2 - 3 ways and got 5 meals out of it. Oh and the sauce is awesome as well. Thanks for a good meal. We will be back next time we are craving bbq. read more

I am down here visiting from Southern California last night. My husband and I wanted some good barbecue so we saw dad's barbecue place. We walked in. It smelled delicious. We thought we were in for a wonderful treat, and when we walked in, no one greeted us at first, we stood there for about a minute before the cashier came up to us and asked us what we wanted. I told her that it was our first time there what were her top recommendations? She said right there on the wall is where the menu is at so I said OK so then I continue to order. I got some ribs and some tri-tip that's what I ordered and I ordered potato salad and baked beans and then I ordered on the side of a slice of the cornbread and it said hot cornbread. My husband got the same thing tri-tip and some ribs as well. He got the baked beans And mac & cheese and then I told him get the cornbread. I bet you it's delicious. I was just figuring it was delicious cause it was three dollars extra so I figured it would be well just to tell you it was not. They got my order wrong. It was overpriced. The meat was tough.
