Well I tried this place after looking at the reviews on yelp. So let's break it down. Ribs - pretty good but the sauce is too watered down. Chicken- kinda bland. No taste. Mac salad- decent but could be better. Baked beans- way too sweet. Could barely eat a spoonful. So overall the place was empty and I kinda see why. Might come back for the ribs if I really don't have any other choice for BBQ. read more

Hard to find a good BBQ joint and I must say the drive from San Pablo to Pittsburgh was worth it. We had a slab of ribs with medium BBQ sauce, baked beans, potato salad and mac & cheese. We also decided to try the gumbo... let's say it was so good we ordered another to go lol I deducted a star because the mac & cheese wasn't that great. read more

Wasn't the best bbq i've had. I went during the seafood festival and i must say, the fish was very dry and salty. I've had the ribs, the bbq chicken and all of it had no juices whatsoever. I will not be coming back. read more

Went for lunch, got the ribs with baked beans. The ribs were GREAT! Cooked and seasoned perfectly. The baked beans were delicious and sweet, how i like them. My mother got the month special, fried chicken wings---hella good. My sister got the bbz chicken, sort of dry and the french fries that came with the fried cat fish (which everyone said was really good) were nothing special. But i really enjoyed it and plan on coming back! read more

My husband and i just ate their food and we love to bbq this food was amazing!!! Staff was very nice and we will be back again.

Food is good. The prices are very high considering the baby size portions they are serving. Not going back. read more

Ehhh no Ambience was pretty quiet in here (some music would help) instead we just got to hear the workers yelling back and forth. Was freezing in there. Service was very very slow. We weren't acknowledged when we walked in and took the lady around ten mins to come and take our order and then another 5 mins to bring us our drinks. There was only one other table! Really? I like the that the sweet tea comes from a machine and that they serve it in red solo cups. if you're a sit down restaurant get some actual plates and cutlery not styrofoam and plastic. Food was ehhh pretty sure they heated it in the microwave. Medium sauce had no kick and was sweet. Macaroni salad sucked and the cornbread was so dry and bleh. There are much better choices around. read more

Im very picky and found good consistent food and a variety of food. However ive had the hardest time with getting them to get the sauce right on my orders. The place is always clean they are generally friendly until i called about the. Latest mix up. They kindly offered to replace the meals we bought when we wanted to come back. They took all the information down and said he would put it on the board. Well... I called to let them know i would be sending my son to pick up the orders i was confronted with a nasty dry attitude grilled me like im stealing from them. When all this could've been avoided by checking my order. Who likes to pay good money for some food to drive all the way get ready to eat and cant because the food u wanted and paid for was not whar u asked for. Im the one should be mad???? Especially when u know its a problem. One lady there older lady is very attentive to customers and your order. Whens shes there i NEVER have a problem. read more

I am beyond pissed off. I drove 30min all the way out here to try their food for the first time, only to be told that they're out of freaking potatoe salad. I guess I won't be trying anything at this point...Disappointed read more

Small place with indoor seating. The staff reminds me of old school BBQ places that want you to hurry up and order because you should already know what you want! Had the rib dinner with hot bbq sauce. Ribs were pretty good and the beans and potato salad were good also. Overall, pretty good. read more

Rib Tips were really good. Everything else we ordered was okay, but definitely not bad. I'll be back when I'm having my next last minute Bbq craving. In my opinion, it was a little pricey for a place who only has paper plates and plastic cups/ silver wear. The can soda was a little under $2. Our order: 3 pc Cat Fish platter with potato salad. Great traditional brisket, ribs, chicken. Relocated from Oakland to Old Towne Pittsburg. Now located on Railroad just past 10th Street going towards the Pittsburg Marina. I've tried briskett and ribs and really liked both. The lunch sandwich is the usual: meat, two slices of bread, side dish (potao salad), sauce on top of meat (mild, medium or hot). Dad's located into the space that used to house C&C BBQ who went out of business after 20 years. I am thrilled good BBQ has come to East County. I've eaten here a number of times now that I've become aware of them and found the quality is uneven. I tried beef and ribs and both have ranged from very tender to very tough and the last two visits were the latter. I can only think that they have a new cook who doesn't know how to properly slow cook the meats so that they aquire the fall-off-the-bone tenderness which I love. I asked the woman there and she kinda looked blank, she doesn't eat beef or ribs. Her favorite is chicken and links, maybe I'll try those next time. The sauce is excellent, mild-medium-hot choices. read more

DELICIOUS FOOD, EXCELLENT SERVICE! Went here with a coworker for lunch and it blew my expectations away. Very good food, treated very well! Can't wait to go back! read more

Very middle of the road as far as taste... not the worst, but definitely not the best! Service was cool though, and that was with only one dude running the front by himself. Might go back if I'm nearby and have a real BBQ craving. read more

The food was good, though I am curious if it would hold up without all the sauce. Other reviews said out was dry, but that wasn't my experience (I had the ribs and beans lunch special). The service was okay. I had to repeat myself a few times as the kid behind the counter was deep in his ipod, but he was friendly and even checked to see that I was happy with everything. He also asked if I wanted bread and brought my water out to me. I was hoping to meet the owner, but he wasn't around. The place was clean and comfortable. Sadly, I ordered the lunch special which left me hungry and in need of food again sooner than I had hoped. The portions are small, though after I'd eaten I read another review suggesting this isn't the case with the full size meals. Next time. read more

Good food, good service, a bit pricy, but ur not gonna find bbq like this around here for cheaper. Don't waste ur time ordering beef ribs, more fat then meat, and not much of either to begin with. The pork ribs are a much better choice. The tri tip is tasty, as is the hot links. Beans and potato salad are my choices for sides, and the bread is store bought sliced wheat. Sodas come in cans, and make sure u ask for more napkins to begin with, they'll give u one for each person. Good location, as Downtown Pittsburg has been getting a face lift, and more business are establishing themselves within the downtown community, seems much safer then it did in previous years. read more

Food is good, wait wasn't long, easy to find, fair prices. Even though my milk came to $14 and some change. I think you could have been a couple of dollars less. $14 should mean my macaroni salad is filled to the brim and my baked beans should be a nice heap. I need you guys to bring more color to the outside and inside of the store. Make it more appealing to the families and the children. It feels like I should come in there, by my food, and leave. When it should feel like more than that. But you can taste the family in the food. Don't get me wrong, the food is very good, no problems with my meal. I just felt like I should smile when I walk through your doors, not shrug. Your restaurant is beautiful on the inside and out, and I've love what you've done with the place. Just asking for a little more lighting a little more smiles, to match those wonderfully great attitudes that you gave us. All in all, four stars should be wonderful, I'll give you the last star when you put love and warmth into your interior and exterior read more

Dad's BBQ - Nice people and nice service. Was recommended by my OG, when I seen his BBQ plate. - Barbeque Near Me - Antioch, California

Came out here from San Jose for an event, we yelped good lunch places and found Dads! Place was busy, I guess they felt like it took a little too long for us to get served because they gave us a free plate of there meat selection!! It was awesome! Food was actually good. Service from the female waitress...no bueno. Coming from a Southern family whom throws down in the kitchen...and having an aunt and uncle who are complete beasts on the barbecue grill....I'm used to great food. I've been looking for barbecue as good as or close to my family's. When I walked in, there was one family sitting down, and two people at the counter getting ready to leave with their food. The black lady working never said hello...just a minute..NOTHING! If you read my other reviews...this is a huge thing for me. It wasn't busy...learn to be polite and acknowledge a paying customer. I didn't walk out this time because I really wanted some ribs. I stood there..finally found my own menu....and eventually a black man...I believe he was the chef...walked up and asked if I was ready to order. He was very nice. Food wasn't as good as my fams, but the ribs were very good. Mac and cheese was ok...baked beans were really good...but the potato salad...YUCK. stay away from it. I'd go back...and the black chick would want to play nice. I go zero to 100 REAL QUICK. read more

If you're looking for AUTHENTIC southern style bbq on a budget, this is the place. Their beef brisket is amazing and they offer you 3 different bbq sauces (mild, medium, hot) to cook the meat with. Their baked beans are great, as well as their green beans. I've only had the banana pudding for desert and it was wonderful! We always have left overs for the next day and it's just as good reheated. Love this place!! read more

so because I was starting a new diet I decided to get my BBQ fix at this place. I was really craving some BBQ from this place in Oakland, but this was closer so I decided to try it because I had heard a couple of good things about it. the area is super cute the storefront is adorable and the inside is nice and clean. the staff was average on its friendliness, not too friendly but not rude completely. so I got my food and got the car everything smelled really good (I was starving). I stay about 15 20 minutes away, so I got home and my kid and I got ready to eat. he had the kids meal chicken dinner plate and I had the rib dinner. now like I said I'm used to this place in Oakland, so I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this place. on my rib dinner there was supposed to be ribs beans and potato salad. as you can see from my pictures I forgot my potato salad. but I said whatever its fine. now I thought this was a kid plate. really? Like 45 rude for $12? taste wise it was ok nothing great. but at least give me my money's worth. for $12 I could have bought my own slab of ribs and made my own stuff at home. I think from now on I will just spend my $12 on gas and go to Oakland for bvq. or at least when its a serious craving. overall, the food is okay nothing to rave about and the atmosphere is decent. read more

Dad's is always clutch when you want BBQ and don't want to do it yourself. It's a little pricey but it's worth it. You won't be getting "commercialized" BBQ. You will be getting straight up wood smoked meats. Give it a shot. read more

Decided to take the family out to Dad's for some bbq. Looking for good food and to support a local business. Walked in and got a kinda friendly reception from counter person, not much on help or showing excitement to us. Place was clean, had a good aroma that made me hungry. Food had great flavor, ribs fell off the bone, brisket was amazing. I won't make a big effort to go back though. That reason was price & value. Good food but portions were really small for what we paid. Beef up the portion size or drop pricing a bit I would go back but that seems to never happen with restaurants. read more

I came into this spot earlier this week, and this was my second time ordering from this business. We couldn't have been more pleased. The barbeque chicken and links that we ordered was very tasty. Antonio helped us, and I was very pleased with the customer service. He was professional and kind. It didn't take long at all to receive our order. I'll definately be visiting this spot regularly. read more

We ordered from Dad's BBQ for the first time today. We were not disappointed! Everything was well prepared and flavorful. Dad's BBQ will go into our rotation for take out. read more

I went in to this cute spot hoping to have BBQ pulled pork and coleslaw. Neither were on the menu. I chose the pork ribs. These are not baby backs. Mine were tough as though they were a couple days old. The medium spicy sauce was completely yummy. Perfect even. My side options were potato salad, macaroni salad or BBQ beans. I chose the beans. They were fine. I ordered iced tea, they only had sweetened iced tea so I had to buy a bottle of Snapple. I recommend adding pulled pork, coleslaw & fried chicken to the menu. Also regular iced tea, unsweetened with free refills. Lunch was served on styrofoam. Tacky. The woman working had complete attitude toward the guy running the show. She seemed new because she didn't have prices memorized. The ladies restroom said Out of Order but I was told I could go ahead and use it. There was no trash can for the paper towel. Weird. This place could be a destination spot with a few improvements. Great location on the Main Street. read more

Good bbq for Pittsburg. Owners are nice and friendly. Hot is really hot. Get the mild. Order to go unless you like the old mom & pops decor.

Ordered the hot links with hot bbq sauce and the Mac and cheese too good will definitely be back.

Catfish was skimp total came out to 45$ for two people one order 6pc fried CF other beef tri tip/chicken combo they didn't have lemon for the fish the Mac and cheese was velveeta and not like the picture shown the service was SHIT we ordered for here and they didn't bother to offer us any forks which we had to ask for and they took they sweet ass time just a lazy ass estabpissment to say the least read more

This food taste horrible. The macaroni and cheese was in a plastic container. None of the side dishes were hot. I will never go back to this location read more

Service 2 to 3 stars, needs work. Ambiance, needs a face-lift BBQ with the hot sauce, THE BOMB Tri-Tip with mild sauce, cooked well and crackin Potato Salad, pretty good, not the best Baked Beans, same Banana Pudding, took it home.............should have left it. Okay now for the major improvements needed: Styrofoam plates............... boooooooooooo, bad for the environment., And I am not at a picnic. Red plastic cups......last time I used those I was at a Frat party. Overall there was no food left on the Styrofoam plate once I was finished so I will be back, read more

So delicious! I enjoyed every bite of everything I ate, ribs, Mac n cheese, potatoes salad and sweet potatoes pie!

This may once have been special but now there's not much good to say. The food was sub-par most of the tri-tip was tender but as far as flavor goes not much there. Over sauced and over sweet. The offerings of 3 sides was overwhelming got the potato salad was very bland The price for a side of meat with a side of potato salad was well above what I would pay for I will not return here. Sorry to say seems as if the passion for food died with the original owner read more

Great bbq sauces! Mild or spicy whatever you can handle will not disappoint. Got the ribs and wings and wish there was more. Meaning portion could be slightly more on the ribs for the price. Baked beans were good. Reminded me a bit of pork and beans. Corn bread is a bit bland. A little honey butter will fix it right up. The staff is friendly and service was fast. I would return because the sauces were amazing and makes up for all the negatives. read more

I was in the area and was in the mood for meat! I've passed by this place a few times before so I finally decided to go in and check it out. It's not much when you walk in but I still decided to order some bbq to take home. I ordered the three meat combo: 2x ribs and tri-tip were my choices. It came with two sides and I picked the baked beans and potato salad but they were out of the potato salad so I ended up with two orders of the baked beans. The baked beans were pretty decent but it just reminded me of pork n beans! The meat portions were a bit less than what I expected for the price but overall was pretty good. I would go back again if ever I am in the area and craving some meat. read more
