The results at the end of the project were exactly what we had envisioned - it's super clean, smooth, and exceptionally well done. What really made them stand out from all of the other quotes we received for this project was the very detailed quote, the quality of work we could see in their previous jobs (yelp reviews), and most of all the quick responses/communication. They didn't just remove my old concrete and pour new, they actually helped move and adjust parts of my sprinkler system in multiple locations so that not only would it not get damaged, but would be accessible when I need to repair/move it in the future. That level of care and attention to detail isn't something you will find with every company, and I really valued it. They worked efficiently, always arrived on schedule, and communicated clearly throughout the entire process, so I was informed at every step of the way of what was happening, and what to expect. When the job was done, they cleaned everything up like they were never here, except of course for the beautiful new concrete. The quality of their work is genuinely top-notch. They removed old, water-stained paver bricks from…read moreour front entry atrium and replaced them with new pavers, seamlessly tying into existing brickwork for a superb look. Another project we had was to remedy an efflorescence-stained faux rock wall resulting from an ill-designed waterfall feature put in by the previous owner of the house in the front entry atrium. Otelio, the Veliz Masonry owner, contacted the manufacturer of the faux rock wall and discovered a staining method that could be used to bring back the original colors and luster of the damaged wall (see photos). They did an absolutely wonderful job of restoring the wall to its original beauty and we couldn't be happier with the results, which exceeded our highest expectations. Finally we had Veliz remove about 120 lineal feet of loose or damaged brick capstone off of retaining walls in our back yard and replace them with a high end Sonorastone flat wall cap (see photo). Again, Otelio and crew did a masterful job of installation to greatly enhance the beauty of our backyard. Otelio, his sons Manny and Diego, and his brother Gerry, were the crew who did all of the work. They performed in a highly professional manner and paid attention to every detail to ensure a super high quality job. Prior the starting the work they meticulously prepped the work area to protect against damage and were very conscientious about cleanup as the work progressed. They kept to the work schedule, showing up on time each day and putting in a full day's work with excellent communication throughout the duration of the project. It's refreshing (and rare) to find such a great contractor that is so attuned to the customer's needs. If his crew lacks experience in doing a task, he has them just leave it as is and simply tells the customer/me, what I'm asking for "is not possible and he doesn't have time nor the money to try and fix my issues". Every time I'd call for an issue, he'd be upset screaming and threaten to take his people off the job. One day he will be pleasant and easy to work with and the next day he can be disrespectful and unprofessional. On top of everything else, he will be deceitful. He promised me "Duramax" Vinyl fencing. He provided me an invoice specifying Duramax was purchased. Once the job was done, I had already lost all trust in this man and grew suspicious, so I called a Duramax rep to come out and inspect the product....I'm glad I did. The fence he used was a cheap product manufactured in China. I went as far as calling the company shown on the invoice - AG Fencing Supply. They told me they do not sell Duramax and do not sell to contractors. I spent thousands of dollars for peace of mind a "licensed contractor" would do a good job without having any issues - I was so wrong.

What impressed us the most was their solution to a pour they did on our side yard. There were two small AC units from a recently completed ADU sitting on plastic platforms that were sitting on grass/dirt. We wanted a concrete pad to replace the grass. All the contactors said they could place forms around the AC units and pour around them. We expressed our concerns about the look and viability of leaving the units sitting on the plastic platforms and dirt. The other contractors said all they could do is frame and pour around them or we could have an electrician come and move them for the pour and then have the put back after the pour. Sounded expensive. Juan and his crew came up with an great plan to suspend the units and pour the concrete under them. Problem solved! We loved that they heard our concerns and came up with a solution. Also the work on the driveway was quick, clean and came out great.

It was time to replace a deteriorating privacy fence at my home. I decided to replace it with a…read moreblock wall in order to minimize future maintenance. It was shared fence with two other neighbors and they agreed to share in the cost. I asked four different Companies to bid on a new cinder block wall. In the end only two Companies provided quotes. The prices were similar. I chose National Concrete based upon Brian La Fuente and his honest and straight forward approach. The project consisted of demo an existing wood fence and build a 219 linear feet cinder block wall with Orco split face blocks. The National Concrete team for my project was 3 highly skilled and very efficient craftsmen. I was amazed at the fast pace of the work for only three guys. They did not take short cuts. The crew worked straight through on the job. In the end it took four weeks to complete the fence including all city inspections. I think the work quality was top notch.
