so I got the six piece chicken and let's just say for six bucks you're not going to be more satisfied than this here bucket of fried sliced beak peckers. i'm not so good at math, but I damn sure surpass six chicken tenders after forcing myself to withstand the walls of Jericho of delicious crustiness surrounding thin, sliced fillet chicken breast from pastures of greatness like you've never seen before. Both sauces had my eyes watering like I just lost my homework for my final exam to get my masters degree before my trip to Hawaii tomorrow. all of that was fine and dandy, but I'll tell you what it was the first bite of the mini cannoli that made me pop my eyes open to try to see through Niagara Falls,I reached for a beach towel from my backseat to wipe my eyes so I could see my phone specifically to write a review about how delicious this little thing was. I couldn't even believe it, my forehead and eyebrows are still sweating as I speak these words to my cellular device. I have not even tried this chocolate cookie yet, but I fear that once I begin that adventure, you may not see me here in these comments again. Their pizza is good, we get it every so often. I like their sweet chili chicken pizza, it's good, but if you don't like pizzas being a little sweet then it might not be for you. We also got a sausage, pepper, and onion pizza which was good, although this time it felt like less toppings were put on. Their chicken cutlet sandwich is good too. Their pizzas crust is thin and they all have nice tastes. Every time we get pizza from here it's good, there was only once the bottom was really burnt. Moodus Da Vinci makes great pizza. The staff is friendly, the dough is thin and tasty. Sauce is fresh tasting. Unlike a Greek style pizza it is not too greasy or too cheesy. Moodus location is take away only. There is no place to sit and stay. They offer salads and sandwiches as well although I have not tried those things. The best take-out pizza option in the area. Da Vinci is a good local chain with outlets in Cobalt, Higganum and elsewhere. They stand in contrast to most of the local pizza shops in that they go with fresh made dough and relatively thin crust cooked in appropriately hot oven (as opposed to a grill-o-tron conveyor as I have seen at other local places). I would not put them up on the Frank Pepe level, but you'll be hard pressed to do better in Central CT. A good variety of toppings. The "Tutto Mangiare" is among my favorites but I am equally happy with a plain tomato and mozz. pie. Salads are very good, as well as the calzones and grinders. By far my favorite pizza place in town! We just moved from NJ so I was in the hunt for good pizza. The crust is nice and thin and they have a great selection of speciality pies. The spinach and feta, DaVinci and milano are all delicious. Even with all the toppings the crust holds up to it. Very good pizza and reasonable prices. There are coupons on their website that can be used over and over too, which is really nice. It's only take out. It can be hard to find, though it's right on route 149 in the center of Moodus. For pizza in Moodus, CT this is definitely your best option, but it is still by no means the best pizza ever. But it is a cute, cozy, friendly spot. Chances are that if you go here, you know them or they know you. So be nice! Honestly that's all I have to say except that my family found the pizza a bit too greasy. Delicious... This review is long over due. Ordered take out half a dozen times, always 20 minutes. Small place with friendly and easy to work with staff. Ingredients fresh and flavorful, especially the chewy, homemade crust. Only place in the area that makes their crust from scratch. Da Vinci's definitely has some of the best pizza in the East Haddam area, their only rival in that department might be Illiano's in Colchester. This is not a sit down restaurant. In the summers it is also blazing hot inside the place, so I recommend calling in advance and not waiting there for your food. The biggest downside of Da Vinci's is their bad hours. They don't open until 4pm. There have been so many times where I wanted pizza for dinner but didn't want to wait until they opened, so I had to settle for Village Pizza across the street. Everyone seems to call just as they open, so sometimes you could be waiting 10 minutes for the phone to stop being busy. It would be nice if going there was an option for lunch. read more
