We did it!!! Waterfall rappelling is checked off our adventure bucket list! This was such a truly unique, exhilarating Aloha experience and more fun than we expected. Naan & Shiz were the best. We felt safe and comfortable throughout the tour. First, was a practice run on dry land. Next, we hiked down to the 30 foot waterfall in 2 separate groups of 4. Last, we hiked through a muddy trail and crossed a stream to the 60 foot waterfall!!! This is a once in a lifetime experience and a must try. We plan to make this a regular activity when in Kauai when we can do it with our eyes closed (just kidding about "eyes closed"). read more

Let me lead with...this is a MUST do in Kaua'i. Fear or not, this is a very fun, vulnerable and therapeutic time out in the outdoors to 2 very beautiful waterfalls that you get to both see and repel down. Katie and Matt were phenomenal guides and really created a safe space in what can be deemed as being scary to many. They furthermore create opportunities to bond and celebrate each other through the process of repelling and learning to repel, while knowing their audience and really bringing the perfect hospitality feel. This was well worth the money and the time that they give you out there - they also provide equipment and gear for you at no added cost, which has not been the case at many of the other things that we have done. They also will provide you with choices of how or where you can propel within your comfort and based on skills and teach you how to dry repel prior to actually doing it which really helps with boosting confidence - I was very fortunate and comfortable with being vulnerable and ventured through the waterfall! Cannot guarantee this to anyone, yet it made my experience very memorable and put me into a huge state of humility and peace. We will be back again and I hope it is sooner over later! I hope that people find this review invaluable as well. Cheers, Stephen read more

My daughter really wanted to do this but I had previous plans so I called them and they accommodated her. This is the only people who do repel off of waterfalls, the concierge at our hotel did not even know about them so I made sure and called them and did a little research and booked it. She had to take an Uber and they sent us coordinates which was weird and she ended up walking a bit because it was on private land. The following is her review: Very cool . would do again. They remembered my name and made sure I had pictures and videos taken of me even though I was there by myself. Very encouraging and helpful on the waterfalls on the island. We did zip lining today and she said she like the waterfall repelling better. So I guess I must endorse these guys, next time I will go as well. read more

Stop what you're doing and book a tour with these guys!! It's definitely not a female-dominate sport. We were actually supposed to go ATV-ing but glad that we chose rapelling instead. I'm not a particularly athletic or strong female, and definitely do not have any knowledge for climbing and less than average arm strength. Our guides Matt and Nan were super patient and knowledgable in teaching how to safely go down the waterfalls. The entire experience was a pure rush of adrenaline and we still pull up our videos & photos to show our friends even months after our trip. Highly highly recommend! read more

My girlfriend bought us the waterfall rappelling tour on Kauai with Da Life Outdoors and it was an amazing experience! We got to their location on Kauai at about 8am while we checked in and waited for the other people on our tour. We met the guides Matt and Renan who were awesome the whole way through! Funny and entertaining while keeping us safe and giving us the full experience! After our entire group of 6 was ready, they took us in a van to a short drive to trailhead. Here we got some snacks and water and got a brief explanation of what we were going to be doing that day. Everyone did a dry run of rappelling with step by step easy to follow instructions from the guides. We put on some boots made for waterfall rappelling (definitely not good for hiking though!) and eat suits. They gave us helmets and harnesses of course and we hiked down to the first 30 foot waterfall. They setup while you have the opportunity to take pictures and split up the group 3 at a time. The other 3 were encouraged to take pictures for the 3 rappelling which was great. The area was gorgeous and I got straight under the waterfall to take pictures as my girlfriend rapelled. When it came my turn the guys guided me every step of the way and it was a blast! After we hiked a short hike to this gorgeous but intimidating 60 foot waterfall! Same procedure, 3 at a time. When I went down there was sooo much more water this time! I slipped because of the water and smooth rocks but nothing too bad. The most difficult part was about midway when it felt like the whole ocean was coming into my face and I had trouble getting air! The guys told me to put my head down to let the water go over my helmet which worked! Finished on the way down and that was it! when we were all done they took us to this little beautiful area behind the waterfall against the rocks where I took more pictures. After hiking back we had more snack, chatted up a bit and headed back to base! Amazing experience! Thank Matt, Renan, and Da Life Outdoors! read more

Absolutely amazing tour! The instruction is thorough and entertaining. The prep with a dry wall then small 30' waterfall then the big kahuna 80' waterfall was ideal. Matt and Nan are fantastic. Upbeat and made the entire time go smoothly. Would strongly recommend this tour to all. Will be a great and memorable experience for any and all who venture rappelling the waterfalls. Pure thrill! read more

We had an amazing time with Matt and Kate repelling yesterday! I booked this for myself and my mom (as a spectator). I have no repelling experience so I wasn't quite sure what to expect but both Matt and Kate were extremely throw in their instructions and made you feel very comfortable before actually getting out onto the waterfall. They were charismatic and very kind while helping my mom through the hiking part to the waterfalls (she's 72). Their aytention to detail and safety made me feel extremely comfortable. It was a once in a lifetime experience and I was happy to share it with them. read more

We were looking for fun and new things to do on our Kauai trip and came across the waterfall rappelling in the Kauai Revealed book! The book recommended it as a "real rush"! We decided to give it a try and boy were we all glad we did! Our guides, Erric and Nan were amazing and funny. They took the time to explain everything and go through all the techniques and safety followed up with some practice on a little dirt wall to make sure we understood how to rapell. Your fine to show up in flip flops because they had us wear these awesome water shoes with a felt bottom that made it so you don't slip on the rocks in the water. I wore a hat under my helmet to help keep the water off my face while I rapelled down. At the end you can swim around in the pool under the waterfall. Our guides were also great at taking pictures for us under the falls and as we rapelled down! Definitely would do this again! read more

Adventure of a lifetime! We took the rappel tour with our 13 and 12 year old kids yesterday. Our guides, Nan and Matt were fun, experienced and made us all feel super safe. The instruction at the beginning was excellent and it really prepared us for the 30 and 60 foot rappels. The opportunity to have access to waterfalls on private land was incredible. My wife and I had a blast on this rappelling adventure. The instructors were amazing and so good at what they do. Hands down, one of the BEST experiences my husband and I have ever had! We had the pleasure of learning how to rapell from two of the most engaging instructors, Nan and Matt! They were informative, supportive, engaging and so kind! You can tell that they absolutely love what they do! The waterfalls are gorgeous and to be able to rapell them was something I cannot ever describe. If we are fortunate enough to return to the island, we would not hesitate to book this tour again! Thank you for making our trip here memorable! read more

Just got back from Kauai and one of my favorite parts of the trip was the Kayak/water fall rappel adventure with Da Life. This would be a perfect outing for someone that wants a little challenge that isn't too taxing. The kayaking was practically self propelled as the current carries you down the river. A few necessary paddling areas require just enough effort to give a light workout, the rest is just steady paddle to keep from drifting into edges of river. Our guide HayNah (guessing on spelling) was not only pleasant, but funny and informative. The waterfall was a bit smaller than I was expecting but it turns out water rappel is quite a bit more challenging than your normal rappel so it is a good introduction. Of course they also offer a rappel that is twice the height for those looking for greater challenge. read more
