Wall decor includes large photos of famous Italian cinema icons like Anna Magnani, Monica Vitti, Alberto Sordi, and Marcello Mastroianni. I've got a vague understanding of their menu and gathered that your dinner options here vary greatly depending on the alignment of many factors, owner's creativity included. Just like home, already! -:) If available, you have to order Ossobuco here. It's braised veal shanks mixed with veggies and sautéed in white wine (in Bianco) or with tomatoes and carrots (which turns out a completely different dish, in my humble opinion). Our dishes were well prepared and nicely presented: fresh burrata with tomatoes, a flavorful carbonara, rigatoni all'amatriciana, and a rich tiramisù to finish. Prices were definitely higher than what you'd typically pay in Rome, but considering the location and hotel setting, it felt reasonable enough. Service was friendly and efficient, which we appreciated after a tiring day. Breakfast the next morning was excellent--honestly the highlight. The pastries were extremely fresh, and the buffet even included fresh mozzarella, which you don't see often at hotel breakfasts. A great way to start the day before heading into the city. Overall, La Serra is a solid and reliable choice if you're staying at the hotel. Convenient, good food, and especially a great breakfast experience.
