A wonderfully cozy Italian restaurant with truly excellent service. The intimate space makes reservations a must. The staff is attentive without being intrusive--my water glass was never empty. I forgot to photograph the Bellini, but it deserves special mention: made with fresh peach juice, it was easily the best Bellini I've ever had. I began with complimentary bread, followed by the pasta special of the day--perfectly cooked and finished with freshly shaved black truffle. To end the meal, I had the crostata di mele, which was delightful! Similar to an apple tart. It's a pricey restaurant, but the food quality definitely matches the price. read more

Lovely, cozy, and authentic Italian spot in the UES serving handmade pastas. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Plus, it was not hard at all to get a reservation on a Friday night. La Chiantigiana di Adriano ($28) - I was initially drawn to this option of "cocoa nibs pasta" expecting it to have some sort of unique cocoa flavor. However, it sort of just tasted like normal pasta, albeit pretty good pasta with tomato sauce and slow cooked braised beef. The interior is not that big but has a nice cozy vibe with dimmed lighting, making for a great date spot. The service speed is fairly quick. And I have to mention again that the staff are really great. Overall, while the pasta wasn't all that special, the vibes and service were and so Da Adriano gets a solid 4 stars from me. read more

Five stars for service, four stars for food creativity and variety and the delightful outdoor seating, three stars for my zucchini omelette with goat cheese and spinach, and two stars for the focaccia (do not recommend). My dining companion's peach bruschetta is something I will try to replicate at home, though! Glad we went. read more

Little cozy Italian spot in UES. Came here as "homemade" ingredients are just very important for Italian Food. We shared couple items - Focaccia filled with mortadella, stracciatella and pistachio pesto - LOVE the flavor combination, thought the focaccia started to be a bit dry, maybe coz later of the day? Regardless it was still a good appetizer sandwich. Lasagna - it wasn't a very pretty Lasagna but I enjoyed each bite a lot. La Chiantigiana di Adriano - tomato sauce was on a milder side, would love a more robust flavor. Warm place with friendly and welcoming staffs here. read more

Authentic UES Gem - Best Crespelle in the City! If you're looking for a spot that feels less like a Midtown tourist trap and more like a hidden corner of Rome, Da Adriano is it. We stopped in for lunch and were honestly blown away by the quality of the pasta coming out of this kitchen. Here's the play-by-play of what to order: The Focaccia: They bring this out warm, and it's dangerous. Perfectly salted with a light, airy crunch. Try not to fill up on it, but honestly, no judgment if you do. The Crespelle: This was the absolute star of the show. Imagine the best parts of a lasagna--the crispy edges and the rich, cheesy center--but elevated. It's decadent, savory, and topped with just the right amount of cheese. Do not skip this. Meatballs: The meatballs at Da Adriano are a standout example of classic Italian comfort. They are homemade using a tender blend of veal and beef, which gives them a much lighter, more delicate texture than a standard all-beef meatball. Simmered in a bright, vibrant tomato sauce (polpette al sugo), they are finished with a generous dusting of salty Parmigiano-Reggiano. They manage to be incredibly juicy and rich without feeling heavy--the kind of meatballs that taste like they've been simmering on a grandmother's stove all Sunday morning. Cacio e Pepe: A masterclass in simplicity. The sauce was perfectly emulsified (no clumping here!) and had that sharp, floral kick of black pepper that stays on your tongue. The pasta was perfectly al dente. Spaghetti Pomodoro: A total classic. The red sauce is bright and fresh, topped with a mountain of cheese and a fragrant basil leaf. It's the ultimate comfort food done with high-end execution. The Vibe: The space is cozy and inviting--perfect for a long, lazy lunch. Note that the menu leans into the Breakfast & Lunch crowd, so it's the perfect sophisticated "daytime" Italian spot that doesn't feel rushed. Pro Tip: It's located right on 1st Ave (near 65th). If you're a local, this should be in your weekly rotation. If you're just visiting the UES, it's worth the walk! read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE da Adriano! How many times have I popped in midday for the perfect latte (or three) and ended up joining happy hour (great wine selection and freshly baked focaccia), onward to dinner . . . and thank you to the accommodating staff who always keeps me happy throughout my three-part adventure! This is the coziest, most welcoming of cafes/wine bars/restaurants on the UES (perhaps of anywhere in NYC)! Everything is delicious (and do leave room for dessert), and the staff could not be more welcoming and friendly. As Chef Adrian makes his way around the cozy dining room to personally check on the happiness(!) at each table, one can understand the love that went into this gem! I cannot wait for another masterpiece by Chef Adrian! If his new creation, La Colina, is anything like his wonderful da Adriano on First Avenue (64/65), I must rush to make a reservation before it's discovered by all who love fresh, carefully and creatively offered Italian cuisine serviced by friendly, knowledgeable staff (and the most gracious of owner/chefs). read more

We live four blocks from this restaurant, not sure why we have never tried it! We made a reservation for a Friday evening, and this place did not disappoint! We ordered the Blue Fin Tuna Tartar, OMG! It was absolutely delicious. It melts in your mouth! (Wish we took a pic) I had the TONNARELLI CACIO E PEPE and my husband had the LASAGNA. Both were SO good! We ordered dessert, we shared the TORTA DELLA NONNA it's a dough crust filled with pastry vanilla cream, pine nuts, delicious! We will definitely be back!! read more

4.2 / 5.0 Italian Restaurant on 65th ST. You can enjoy authentic pasta in New York City, and the restaurant is always full right away! The pasta noodles are sticky and well mixed with the sauce! When I told the waitress that it was my friend's birthday,She surprised us with a dessert plate and a birthday song! Very sweet! The atmosphere of the restaurant is like being in a coffee shop. The restaurant's background music is not loud, so we were able to enjoy a relaxing meal with good conversation. I would like to go back because it is a child-friendly restaurant! What I ordered was: ・Rigatoni all'Amatriciana ・Tonnarelli cacio e pepe ・Tiramisu ・Iced latte macchiato read more

Visited da Adriano's for a Saturday afternoon lunch. Great location in the UES. Pass by here regularly, has cozy vibes with a romantic feel. Not a huge space but has both inside/ouside seating. Service was friendly and relatively quick. We ordered the crudo di san daniele and pollo sandwiches. Both were great! Pollo has a zesty lemon chicken salad feel while the crudo is saltier and bolder flavor. Foccacia was fresh and crispy. Would definitely return for a dinner. read more

I had a very nice early dinner at da Adriano on a Thursday. It's a quaint restaurant in UES where I was able to walk in with no reservation. The service is excellent and the food is pretty good. I got the Cacio e Pepe, carrots, and a glass of one of the Montepulciano wines. While this place isn't quite Italy, they did a great job attempting to create the atmosphere in Manhattan. read more

This is a small neighborhood Italian spot. Everyone should be lucky enough to have this kind of place in their neighborhood. The service is warm, attentive and professional. The food is delicious and well-presented. This place is about food and dining-well, rather than being about putting on a show and impressing with excess or flash. It is also NOT like the usual UES Italian restaurants, which do have a time and place in everyone's calendar. It reminds me of dining in Italy, where more often than not, the quality of the food at a restaurant takes precedence. The pasta is homemade. We loved the frutti de mare and the gnocchi with pesto. Even the ordinary sounding mixed salad was better than most of the salads I eat all week because of the freshness of ingredients and simple quality dressing. The specials included pasta with shaved truffles and spinach ravioli with sage butter. We did not try them. We enjoyed tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake for dessert but the real reason to dine here is for the rest of the menu. read more

We came here seeking the best Italian food in the upper east side, which is filled with above-average Italian spots. Da Adriano looks nondescript from the outside, but we were intrigued after reviewing the website and menu. They advertise themselves as a "focacceria," which caught our attention. We broke the news to our waiter that we were looking for a vegan meal, and he was extremely accommodating. We got the spaghetti pomodoro (delicious), the quinoa lentil salad (our waiter's recommendation - excellent), several veggie sides (all great), and several rounds of olive oil focaccia. We'd love if they added one or two more vegan items (especially dessert), but we would return nevertheless. read more

They have indoor and outdoor seating. It's cozy and warm inside, limited tables. The staff is nice, the manager or owner was kind enough to bring us blankets when we got chilly while eating and watching the marathon runners today. The bolognese was yummy, and my friend and her mom enjoyed the focaccia sandwich and chicken caprese salad. read more

Tiny, wee kept, great service and the best Italian food I've had in 30 years of traveling everywhere.

Da Adriano's--This is like being magically transported to ITALY. The food, the service, the staff, so nice. The chef-owner, Adriano, may stop by your table-You will feel like you're away, on vacation. I waited to write my review until I had my 2nd visit. At My first visit, a few weeks ago, I enjoyed the homemade pasta, Cacio e Pepe ...I had been craving it, and this did satisfy my craving. It was hard to visit a second time and not order one of the homemade pasta dishes, but, I wanted to try "Adriano's salad", because during my first visit, the lady at the nearby table highly recommended it, saying it was really good. And, I concur!! I enjoyed Adriano's salad very much, all yummy ingredients: white meat chicken breast, little tomatoes, so full of flavor, sliced avocado, walnuts, a bit of goat cheese, fresh spinach; fresh raspberries ...all so nice...and next time I will ask for a little bit more dressing. I'm not even a big dressing person, but this was a wonderful Dijon vinaigrette, and I would've liked just a tiny bit more because it was so good on the fresh spinach greens. The fresh raspberries were a delightful surprise, flavorful and perfect. I loved this salad. And, this salad is also available for easy, quick take-out...see photos. I also ordered one of the side orders--the roasted carrots. Mmmm, I loved them, and I look forward to enjoying them again, soon. Simple, flavorful carrots, roasted to perfection, and also making me feel like I am on a nice vacation. I could enjoy these roasted carrots anytime, day, night, snack. I'd love to eat these at the movies, too!! Popcorn? Not today, May I have the roasted carrots please? :). I WISH!! Food for thought...I just might take out the roasted carrots and bring them to the movies! Yes, I'm serious. Carrots may be my no-guilt almost candy. LOL...I'll have to post a photo IF I do this!! Stay tuned. And, with about five tables, plus outside seating, plus the window seating...I think about 5 or six window seats/individual stools--it was a lovely and delicious surprise when Chef Adriano brought his homemade Foccaccia bread to each table. I'm telling you, I felt like I was on vacation in Italy. See my photos please, to see the 2 pieces of homemade Foccaccia brought to the table. Very special, and, very good!! And, The homemade croissant was also very, very good. I'll let you be surprised...I'll just say be sure to try one, if they haven't sold out. And I enjoyed the artful cappuccino. The homemade tiramisu was very good. Credit cards are accepted, including both, Apple Pay, AND Google Pay. Something to keep in mind--GENERALLY SPEAKING, for long-time restaurants and brand new restaurants, these are challenging times, so please be mindful that most, if not all restaurants that accept credit cards are charged a fee every time a cc is used. So, please consider, maybe paying in cash, every once in a while, to help out the hardworking restaurantuers. Thank you. I intend to joyfully work my way through the menu!! LOL. I saw a yummy looking, homemade rigatoni pasta plate that looked so delicious, and the person eating It told me it was. That might be my next meal but I'm not kidding. I intend to try everything on this menu. I have to try to get here for breakfast, because everything -- lunch and dinner--has been so yummy, and I'm curious to see what Chef Adriano does for his breakfast menu. Oh, THERE IS FRESH OJ!! And goodies after the meal--the pine nut cookies are divine, as light as air. The homemade tiramisu was very nice. And so was the almond biscotti. If you dine here, please post food photos :) And, to sum up: YES!!! You should eat here! Wish you could go on vacation right now, but can't??! Visit Da Adriano's and FEEL LIKE YOU'RE ON VACATION. read more

Outstanding addition to not only the neighborhood but all of NYC! So authentic, quality, understated - just classic Tuscan vibes. My wife and I are both gluten free but we ate the focaccia as well as the pastas since they are made with flour from Italy and not the crap we have here in America. Meatballs were a standout, along with the cacio e Pepe. Of course, dipping the focaccia in the pasta sauce after too. Spritz's were great too. Several more dishes to try the next time (including coffee + dessert) so very much so looking forward to it! Adriano was a great guy and same with the staff. Little Hole in the Wall with a Tiny Bathroom What an incredibly disappointing experience at this place that someone recommended and I should've researched more thoroughly. If you're going to charge $25 for prosciutto and melon appetizer, it needs to be announced by the server. And why would this be a special - like it's so hard to get prosciutto and melon? The entrée salads were $18 so it came as a shock to the system to charge so much for a few pieces of ham and melon. But the worst thing was the entrée of grilled tuna that I ordered. It was covered with tons of mostly black sesame seeds that would stick in your teeth for days but it couldn't cover up the fact that the fish tasted really funny and most likely on the verge of being spoiled. I took one partial bite of the dried out tuna and sent it back, opting for that entrée salad with a couple strips of chicken. Asked for it to go but threw it out. Would never go back here again and don't recommend it. Ugh. And the tiny bathroom was highly unpleasant. read more
