These are some of the best Calzones ever. The calzones are always a good size, enough for one person. They always fill them pretty decently with your choices. I love Wednesday as they have their 2 for $10 calzones (regular) which is a darn good deal! I usually always get tater tots in my calzones as they are the bomb! I've tried their chicken bacon ranch, buffalo chicken and breakfast calzones and would order all of them again! Their delivery is usually between 30-45 minutes which isn't bad at all! The reviews kind of make me laugh because while it's TRUE that DPs food isn't phenomenal, it's my go to for a greasy cheesy mess when I'm feeling depressed after a Chem2070 final and want to eat my feelings. Like I genuinely wonder how much better my financial situation at school would be if I didnt invest so much in binging DP dough. The staff are kind of assholes, even after me probably being one if their most frequent customers, but that wont stop me from putting on another 10-15 lbs in calzone and fried oreo calories over the next two semesters before I graduate. I hardly rate any place 5 stars, and is DP Doughs food 5 stars? Hard no. But I'm giving them 5 stars because I feel like I owe it to them, if it's so bad why the hell have I eaten it so many times? Why is 10% of my body fat DP dough? Has Cornell made me an alcoholic? Do I need to stop binge eating after my drunken tirades through collegetown on Friday and Saturday nights? Maybe! I had a horrible experience yesterday at D.P. Dough. I had heard a lot of good reviews and decided to check the place out for myself. However when I reached there was one person taking orders and he spent the entire time taking someone's else's order on the phone for 10 whole minutes without even acknowledging the fact that I was waiting!!! I ended up leaving and do not plan to go back. You should not have to wait 10 minutes when there is no one else in the restaurant and when the server does not even try to speed up the process. read more

I ordered two calzones and was sooo disappointed. There was barely any filling or cheese. All dough. Not at all close to what they used to be. I am so mad I paid twenty bucks for bread dough. I normally get great food but tonight it was so gross I couldn't even eat it. The cheesy bacon tots were completely cold and so stuck together I can't eat them. The wings are also cold and I asked for some garlic and butter on the side but they put the ranch I wanted for the tots in with the wings and no side of garlic butter. I follow a very comprehensive calzone review Instagram page and never has a Calio's calzone been rated above a 7.8 out of 10 and many calzones have earned abysmal ratings below 5, which is likely the threshold of edibility for a toasted Italian bread pie. These statistics warrant a 2 or 3-star review, but I elected to choose 1-star based on moral principles. Now that I hear Calio's is no longer accepting it's own coupons, I plan to file a lawsuit under the New York State Consumer Protection Act to bring justice to these phonies who already sell customers short by offering subpar calzones on a nightly basis. I received a coupon from my student planner for a free calzone. Made the trek out there today to find out they are "no longer accepting coupons." I am very disappointed with my order at DP dough. my order has been over an hour delayed, and I understand that the driver has several other orders to complete, so that is not the issue. The issue is that we called a couple times and the woman we spoke to on the phone was very rude and short with us. each time she just said the driver was on the way and said have a good night and hung up on us. This is a very terrible service on her end, and I understand she may be getting a lot of calls but she was not giving us any information as to if the driver was OK or running behind. I've never heard of a place that only sells calzones, but I was excited to try. After trying multiple places to get pizza and failing, we decided to get DP Dough to deliver late night. We ordered 3 different calzones...I loved that we had options of what we wanted inside! And they arrived to our AirBnB shortly after. Decent calzones and great variety but the best part about calios is it's open until 4am, absolutely great for late night meals.

I'm not sure what has happened to D.P. Dough - perhaps good help is hard to find. I mostly used them for home delivery, but over the last six months, the service has plummeted. Sometimes they tell me it will be between an hour and a half and two and half hours to deliver something, and when I politely attempt to let them know I'll make other arrangements, the person on the phone will start haggling with me about how it could be less time, but they cannot control it. Sometimes I'm handed off from one person on the phone to another - each telling me different things. After about three instances of such poor and disorganized service (over about a four month period), I have essentially taken them off my mental list of take out food. The quality of the food varies, but is typically decent, flavorful, and filling. read more

I ordered for delivery and was estimated for 45-60 min. got delivered in about 35-40. So far so good. It was dropped off at the front desk and driver call me to let me know. However, once I got the food and dug it, that's where it all went to crap! I ordered a calzone and cheese stix. The calzone was small for the price and although not terrible in tasting, the cheese stix were raw - literally. The cheese on top was melted but the dough was so raw I could knead it! An earlier review said this is good food if your drunk and I totally agree. I called to tell them about it and the only thing the girl on the phone said was, "OK I'll tell the owner in the morning." Nothing, no attempt to make it right, no refund, nothing. Folks, if you're reading this, I highly recommend getting your food elsewhere! Additionally I'll say this: "If it comes down to the fact that you are starving and you either eat food from here or die from starvation - choose death!" read more

REVIEW FROM A RESTAURANT KITCHEN MANAGER: We ordered delivery off Grub-Hub, two Doughs and a "Big" chocolate chunk cookie. Total was $30.92. When it got delivered I only had one calzone, but upon checking the receipt I was charged for 2. Called back the store to tell them to re-deliver it (my girlfriend was clearly mad she didn't get her calzone which we paid for, but that's not all. Talking to the manager, she told me to "stop being so rude" when talking. I simply expressed disappointment in how they messed up the order. She was extremely sassy, but finally offered either to redeliver the calzone. She didn't even offer to remake / redeliver the full order, just the missing calzone. After telling me to stop being so "rude". I chose for them to redeliver, and it took a full hour for it to come. This is BY FAR the worst experience I have ever had with a food industry and it is just downright unacceptable for any employee ESPECIALLY a manager to tell a guest to stop being rude. I wasn't the one who messed up the order. Terrible, terrible experience. Sad to see a level of management so poor as a restaurant manager myself. Do not eat here. Ordered at 2:30 and called twice, first after an hour and they said my order would be there in 20 minutes, the second time after another 45 minutes, and they said my order was just leaving the place. Nestled in this vibrant college town is a place you go to, to enjoy a tasty snack. The calzones are good. It's more about the creative fillings that made it good. The dough tasted fresh. This place is a joke. They claim to use a mozzarella, ricotta, and Parmesan mix but what I got was a solidified, barely warm glob of what tasted like cheap Polly o cheese. The sauce is equally bad, think Burger King marinara sauce. In other words, not marinara sauce. The Caesar salad was the most passable thing we tried. Calios was a very unpleasant experience, to start I ordered a pound of wings, I was delivered a half pound, that was after a 10 minute issue with the driver delivering my wings. Thank you DP Dough for being there on those nights when theres nothing to eat! DP Dough makes calzones. I only eat the cheese zone with added chicken. It is good. I don't like there bread sticks. There is no place to sit in DP Dough it is a take out type of place. They don't deliver to me because I live too far out but they do offer pick up. DP Dough is a great place to get food fast and late at night. It is more related to the college scene but I still go there. I don't think DP Dough is great but good in a pinch. read more

I love cheap pizza and Italian food, but this place fails because it can't even do the basics well. The dough was tasteless and overcooked, the cheese was tasteless and rubbery, the sauce tasted like the super cheap stuff from the can, worse than Wegman's brand. I was looking forward to the garlic bread (because how can that be bad?) but actually the dough was so tough and overcooked, and the seasoning so faint it was hardly worth eating. I heard this was a bit of a junky place so I waited to try it until I was hungry. That was a mistake because in addition to being boring, flavorless and costing 4 times as much as a microwave meal that would have been twice as good, it took a full hour for delivery, on a Sunday around 8. Don't bother! It is not cheap enough considering how bad everything tastes. read more
