Very nicely set up and displayed goodies, from sandwiches to cakes to gelato. Service is friendly and helpful, and the selection of gelato is wonderful. I had a hard time deciding but went with a scoop of the cherry, wirh some fancy Italian name and a scoop of the D'oro special. I had them both in a cup. They all looked so creamy and delectable in the case. Both selections were delicious and refreshing, although on the expensive side. It was almost $8 for two scoops, with tax and tip. Yet, I understand that true gelato tends to be pricey. This is a good place for a light snack, and the soups being served look good, too.
The sign said "if it's not one of the best coffees you've had them...it's free!" So I said challenge accepted. I had already eaten a brie and marmalade croissant with a London fog, but since it's my last day in Vancouver, I decided well why not. So I ordered a coffee thinking maybe I'll get it for free lol. But heck. This actually is one of the best cups of coffees I've had. It's made to perfection. I even asked for oat milk since I'm an LA girl and we be like that, but it still tasted phenomenal. I can't wait to come back to Vancouver with my husband. When we come back, we're definitely coming back to this cafe for coffee, breakfast, and then back again for dessert :)
Living in NY for a bit, I got hooked onto Gelato and D'oro did not dissappoint! Inside, the space isn't too large, but there is any area to sit/stand with friends. This felt like a pretty standard gelato shop where it's very much a quick grab-and-go. What I enjoyed the most was the variety of the options and flavors for ordering gelato. They had a good list of options from a mini sampler to a large cone to try out different flavors and get your gelato fix. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely stop by again!
I came in with no idea what I wanted so I shared some items I really enjoyed and the barista created a coffee with pistachio cream which was phenomenal. The service was kind and swift. I enjoyed working there while enjoying the view and my delicious evening snack.
This place is sooo aesthetic. Right when I walked in, I was drawn to how clean and cute the decorations were. They serve a lot of French desserts and ice cream. I got their tiramisu ice cream which I thought was super good. Would def come here to study/do work or just hang out with friends
With way too many cafés and desserts in the lower mainland, I'm naturally spoiled and picky. This place has changed its name a couple of times since what it was before... Mondo gelato? I really loved what it once was and decided to give this one a try. Upon walking in, I was a little surprised at how much the prices have gone up since the old days. However, I'm totally fine if the food/beverage is on par with what's charged. I ordered a cappuccino and a cappuccino cake. The cappuccino was your usual espresso based drink. They used Umbria for their coffee beans. The disappointment was the cappuccino cake. There was NO hint of espresso /cappuccino taste on my tongue. I had an extremely rich cappuccino cake in Italy so I had thought this would probably be similar, considering that it was an Italian coffee shop after all. The cake wasn't moist nor was it yummy. It was just a slice of mediocre tasting cake. I have had better cakes at less than the price they charged ($7?). In hindsight, I probably should have ordered just the gelato as this was what they're known for. The cafe itself is quite nice and there are small flower vases on each table. Too bad the food wasn't on point. As mentioned in my intro, with so many options available in the lower mainland, I wouldn't come back here again.
When I'm walking around post-dinner and I see a gelato place... there's a pretty good chance I'm going to pop inside. Such was the case when I stumbled across D'oro. My friend and I came in and had hearts for eyes right away! They had a large variety of flavors and they all looked amazing. What I loved was the large selection of sorbetto options - everything from chocolate to peach to lemon and more. Those three were the ones I sampled and ultimately ordered from... the peach is a great summer flavor! They do let you sample flavors so be sure to take advantage of that! You're not able to split scoops (as in no half scoop of chocolate and half scoop of peach), but you can do three mini scoops for the same price as one scoop... and each mini scoop can be a different flavor. If you're only stopping by the one time, that's what I'd recommend doing, unless you find a flavor to obsess over as you sample away.
Fun gelato place and Italian cafe. The interior is very pretty with an almost old-fashioned charm, and the staff member who helped me was very friendly and patient. They have some savoury stuff in addition to sweets and coffee but options are a bit limited so it doesn't really stand on its own as a lunch/dinner spot. As a dessert spot on the other hand, there's a huge variety of gelato and sorbetto, cakes, and other baked goods. Everything looked so good, even though I went in for gelato I was almost tempted to try a baked good instead. An interesting thing they also offer is some basic Italian soft drinks. I ended up getting a leek and Parmesan strudel and 2 scoops of gelato, pistachio and tiramisu. The strudel was nice and the cheese gave it a pleasant texture, but it wasn't really heated evenly. Gelato was delicious! I really enjoyed both flavours, they both had a lot of depth and the pistachio in particular stood out as being more authentic in taste than most pistachio ice cream products. The only thing that would make me hesitate to return here for dessert is the prices, which are quite high for the size of what you get.
Amazing place for desert after roaming around the street!!! The flavors were great - We got hazelnut, violetta, and strawberry cheese cake! Nice place to sit and take a break from everything. Make sure you try a few flavors before you decide to get one because the variety is great!! We will be back!!
Do you like Italian Gelato ? So this is the place where you are looking for. Italian there a lot of good choices of ice cream and it's not expensive. The best thing is, if you are not so fan of ice cream, you have a good options as dessert and iced and hot drinks. I eat a dark chocolate and wild fruits, they were amazing :) I'm not sure about the price, but maybe I paid ~ 8 dollars for dual cup. And Their service is good, they are fast and helpful. It's not a big place, so it's better when you take your gelato to go, cause the place is busy. I expect you have a great experience as I had guys.
I love their sesame ice cream. So far I have to say they are when it comes to sesame. As well, I love the variety that they offer. I have to say, I am not looking for distinct flavor like lavender or any kind of flowers. I am looking for a regular flavor that I can enjoy. I am not a big fan of their waffle cone. It taste like regular cone not sure nothing special. I recommend just getting the cup. The people here are friendly. As well this place has lots of tables and seats. They also have an espresso machine. I think that machine must only be turned on in the winter time. I have never seen any one order coffee or espresso here. Not sure if its good. Maybe when I come over here in the winter time, I will give it a try. Other than that, I love their long hours. Its just awesome how they are open late. I mean late late. I came at 11 and they are still open
Since my original review this place has changed names 2 or 3 times, the portion sizes have gotten smaller, the prices have gone up, and the variety of flavours has gone down. However, the gelato is still great. So despite the other changes its nice to see that the quality is still there.

The cake was smaller than expected but it was delicious and made as described. I was surprised when they had me sign something while picking up the cake stating it's only good for a half hour out at room temperature and my transit was to be more than a half hour journey from downtown Vancouver. I didn't see this time frame stated on the website or order form. read more
Why 5 stars? Because the ice cream was everything you want it to be. --- --- --- After a nearby dinner, we were hoping to finish off the night with something sweet, and we're suckers for gelato when on vacation. I ordered a cone with salted caramel and coconut and while I enjoyed both, the salted caramel was pretty much perfect. The coconut was a little on the fruity side, but it grew on me as I made my way through it. The initial bites could have just been a bit odd due to the transition of coming off salted caramel. We walked back to our hotel in the cold and rain, which is not ideal gelato eating weather, but it tasted great enough that we were happy anyway. read more

$7 for one scoop that is the size of a golf bowl and my cup was not even full. What a shame. Not even good. Go to shopper drug mart and get a big ice cream thing you'll be way happier. I strongly do not recommend! read more
I love the gelato here. Creamy, rich and flavourful. They are operating at fewer flavours right now, but the pistachio and dark chocolate are all you need. The pistachio is so rich and nutty - it's the absolute best. Not the cheapest, but worth the treat especially on a beautiful sunny day. Service has always been friendly and quick. read more

Love love the Coffee Crisp and Ferrero Gelato. It was delish. Came here while waiting for my pizza to be ready next door.. Love the selection and the service.. Parking on the street is sometimes hard to find.. But worth stopping by. read more

I came across Mondo Gelato when I was looking for dessert places on Yelp. As I was visiting Robson, I decided to check it out as we walked by. There was a good selection of flavors for gelatos and sorbettos. They have also have an assortment of cakes, which looked yummy. I asked to sample pistachio, black sesame, and ferrero rocher. Of the three, I ordered a regular cup (comes with two scoops) of pistachio and black sesame. The pistachio was my favorite as it didn't have an artificial taste. It was super creamy too. The black sesame was good, but I've had better. I'll definitely visit again! read more
I usually don't eat ice creams/gelato much but once in a while I crave for them. During such craving I searched yelp to find a gelato cafe nearby and was excited to find one at a walking distance from my hotel. It also appeared on the top searches on yelp. The staff was super friendly and helped us in selecting the flavors. We firstly sampled 3-5 flavors and then I settle on dolce latte and rum & raisins, while my husband opted for tiramisu and coconut. We also ordered cappuccinos. Dolce latte tasted good at first few bites but then its richness coated my tongue. Rum & raising helped in cutting down that richness. Overall, it was great. Tiramisu and coconut tasted so good. Next time I will try their rose flavor. When I tasted it I found it to be strong but I guess if I combine it with some other lighter flavor, it would taste good. read more

Walked into this adorable place after a full meal- and to be prudent, we had the mini trio of three flavors: creme brûlée / Black sesame / chocolate coconut WRONG CHOICE. Should have asked for a larger cup cuz all are deliriously delicious Crème brûlée: milky, silky smooth and sweet in a pleasant way Black sesame: just very authentic sesame-y - you know what I mean - it's clearly making me cry when you get a good "oriental" flavor in a non-Japanese sweet shop Chocolate coconut: more on the side of a type of stracietella made with coconut sorbet. The chocolate chips only adds on some chunkiness without messing up with the purity and lightness of the indulgent coconut flavor. A great combine. Had a lengthy stare of the case of gelato cakes before we go. after dinner at stephos ...walked around robson for a bit and discovered this gelato place.... ordered a strawberry cheesecake and a chocolate gelato mixed with condensed milk. both these flavours were amazing! the gelato was of outstanding quality. very very creamy and smooth. now, ive had gelato on the streets of italy, particularly in the plaza ....and let me just say...this gelato is already at par with that. they dont have that many flavours compared to other places in yaletown or the drive...but the quality easily stands out. my only concern is that their taste line and ordering line are a complete chaos. there is no proper system or directions in place to let people know where to line up to pay, taste, or claim their orders. on a busy summer day...just imagine the grief this would bring. place is small too and staff not enough. but the gelato is superb! would be back for sure! happy eating!! read more

Boyfriend just came back from Italy and was craving some good gelato so we decided to come here as it had a good rating and within budget at the "$" mark. Sampled the tiramisu, creme brulee, and pistachio before ordering. Tiramisu was delicious (and was the one I went for), creme brulee was meh (had a very commercial vanilla base taste), and pistachio tasted just like creamy pistachio (wasn't for me, but flavour was on point). Boyfriend said it wasn't as good as gelato from Italy but pretty close. One scoop in a waffle cone cost me $5.46 after tax. I wouldn't consider this place in the "$" range but rather a "$$". They have lots of seating inside and two tables outside which we enjoyed. They also sell coffee and other hot drinks. Overall, a great place for some tasty gelato, but it was a splurge for me price-wise. read more
