Gouda & Shrimp Mac n' Cheese
    Brandi T.

Pretty standard food truck, I didn't think it was anything to rave about. I was at a work event that had food trucks available to eat. I've always seen the D'lish food truck at local food festivals in Houston and this is the first time I decided to try it. After take a peek at their menu, I was originally going to order one of their poutine options, but I recently got oral surgery so the things I can actually chew has become limited. So I opted for one of their mac n' cheese options, specifically the smoked gouda and shrimp mac n' cheese. Sounded yummy. I liked the cheese sauce, it had a little bit of a kick to it at the end. It wasn't gritty cheese sauce and it was super creamy. The shrimp was well cooked and wasn't rubbery. They were small shrimp but you get a good amount of them in a serving. I liked that D'lish offers 2 sizes, an appetizer and an entree size. I opted for the entree size since it was supposed to last me the whole day, that being said I should have just gotten the appetizer portion. The mac n' cheese was too heavy for me to finish.

Don't advertise tacos when you use pita bread in lieu of a tortilla. Name it something else. Plus, I was craving a delicious taco, and Htown has many other TRUE taco trucks. $47 later for 4 tacos is a bit pricey, and wasted pita bread as we just ate the filling. Pork and shrimp tasted generic. First time and most definitely last. If you really like tacos, don't think you'll get your fix with D'Lish Curbside Bistro.

Sriracha poutine with fried chicken- stay away!!

This is just an amateur truck at best. Nothing exciting at all. Bland food that is not thought of well at all. I ordered the spicy sriracha poutine with crispy chicken and it was simply fries topped with fried strips and Frank's hot sauce and that's way too far from poutine. The worst part is that I paid $13 for this trash. Never again and I don't recommend this food truck at all.

The fries knocked a star off, the burger alone woulda gotten full marks! The guy at the window was very friendly, he asked if I had any questions, I said "can you half my burger so my husband and I can share it?" He said of course and that was that! We ordered the Triple Cheese and bacon burger, next time we would double up on meat, it was delicious. Juicy but not greasy, packed full of flavour and very reasonably priced. The fries were just ok, a little over spiced and the garlic aioli was packing a lil heat too so it was all just a bit spicy for my plain-lovin hubby. Definitely going back here though, this truck makes my list!

For $16 I got 4 small pieces of shrimp, french fries and gravy. I dont care how good it taste this dish was not worth the price.

I got the Smoked Gouda & Lobster Burger. Not too bad. Toasting the bun would have made it 10x better!

I got the smoked Gouda & Lobster burger. Not too bad, a toasted bun would have made it a whole lot better. I had to eat on the fly, so I didn't get the flavor bomb that was promised. The jalapeño mayo lacked kick and as mentioned before the bun was straight from the package. They also serve poutine style fries. The pictures show crinkle cut fries, which unfortunately was a turn off. I was reminded of school lunch. I hope these guys iron out the little things that can make them a whole lot better.

The food from this truck is amazing. I was a little skeptical about ordering seafood from a food truck because I'm from south Louisiana and VERY picky about the freshness of seafood. It was great! I'm not sure if it was because the seafood was super fresh or if it was covered in cheese so I couldn't tell, but who really cares, right?! Everything was very good and I'd eat this again anytime. If you're looking for a healthy meal though, you'll need to move on to another truck because everything here is fried or covered in cheese.

Best caramel, bacon cheesecake ever. Didn't think I would like bacon on a cheesecake but now after experiencing this lovely concoction I can't wait until the weekend for the food trucks to arrive at the food park. If you are ever in the Kemah, TX area on the weekend do not miss the opportunity to indulge in this sweet treat.

Something simple that should be an easy win. Unfortunately, everything leaned the same direction: either it was heavy, over-sauced, or overly garlicky. It tasted more like dressed-up frozen food than something thoughtfully prepared. And listen...I don't mind indulgent. But there still has to be balance and fresh food. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. And with seafood, that's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is friendly, great music, and the service was very attentive. Even the presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't enough. But at some point, you stop asking what's missing and just accept that it's not landing. I was still hungry so I went next door hoping for a better experience. I want to be clear: It's not bad. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try the Oysters Rockefeller... and let's just say they weren't my speed. They weren't bad, just not for me. So naturally I sent them back and ordered my tried-and-true favorite... Chargrilled Oysters with extra garlic butter, Parmesan, and bacon. Now THAT'S what I came for! Rich, buttery, cheesy, smoky, and absolutely loaded with flavor. Every bite reminded me why these are my go-to. And because brunch rules apply... it was only right to enjoy a pineapple mimosa (or two ). Light, refreshing, and the perfect pairing for all that seafood. If you're visiting Goode Co. From managing a time constraint and adding 2 guests the day of they did what was possible to make sure that we were treated like guests. So many restaurants start off from the mind set that they can make the patrons jump through whatever hoops or meet any number of strange criteria just to come dine, but they made sure we felt welcomed. Everybody had a great time with the visuals and the taste of the signature cocktails, the frozen orange juice as a floater in the ome the ladies ordered is a standout. Our appetizers portion of the meal was our overall highlight here on this visit. The 3 available raw east coast variety were presented tastefully and were fresh of course. Grilled octopus was easily some of the best prepared I've had, they nailed the texture. Eggplant dish was crispy, lobster gnocchi was spectacular with how much lobster made it on to the plate and quality of the gnocchi itself. Our mains were excellently prepared, I had the Tilefish, it was exactly as described by our waiter, and the crispy skin was executed perfectly. My wife's lamb chops were cleaned off the bone, not much higher of a compliment to be made there. Really the experience was capped off with class when we approached our agreed upon time to wrap things up prior to the concert. We had taken all of our time with the hot portion of the meal that we had left none for dessert. The staff then in unison changed out our plates and plated our selection of what seemed like all the dessert options for us to pick from as we liked. They allowed us a little extra time to enjoy the end of our meal and it was an amazing way to end our visit to Little's.

After seeing the Tik Tok reviews for Little's Oyster Bar, I figured it was worth the trip, and it definitely was. The rideshare ride from the airport took about 30 minutes, and I arrived roughly 10 minutes before they officially opened. The manager was kind enough to let me come in early and sit at the bar, which I really appreciated since I was working with a limited amount of time before heading back to the airport. I started with a cocktail, Champagne Colada, and was seated right away. For food, I ordered the caviar, octopus, Gulf oysters, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, and finished with the cherry gelato. Everything was really good, but those Yukon Gold mashed potatoes were especially memorable! I honestly wish I could have taken them with me, but I had to get back to the airport and knew they wouldn't make it through security. Service was welcoming, the atmosphere was relaxed and upscale, and the meal made my Houston layover feel like a mini outing instead of several hours spent sitting at the airport. Next time I'm back in Houston, Little's Oyster Bar will definitely be on my list to revisit.

For the appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Fried Oysters & Brussels, and I got the redfish for my entrée. The Brussels sprouts were flash-fried perfectly, and I loved the sweetness of the chili honey glaze. The oysters had a nice crispy coating, but I found them to be a little bland. The redfish, though, was absolutely the star of the meal. I cleaned my plate. It was served with Hoppin' John and a lemon butter sauce. I had never heard of Hoppin' John before, but it's essentially a Southern rice-and-bean dish, and paired with that lemon butter, it was so flavorful. It complemented the fish perfectly.
