I walked over from the convention center after a day of sessions. Atmosphere is alive with conversation. The kitchen is open so you can see the servers picking up the food. I didn't see anything sitting. Seemed very efficient. I ordered the grouper, lump crab and shrimp with carrots. Everything was spiced just right and perfectly cooked. The carrots with the pistachios had just enough bite to them. The waitress recommended the grouper and I'm glad she did. Only thing that took longer than expected was my old fashioned from the bar but she did come by and apologized for the delay. Prices are more a $$$ to me than a $$. $162 for a pretty disappointing dinner. We drove in from Clear Lake, paid for parking, and walked about 3 blocks with two kids. Once we were seated upstairs, we waited about 10 minutes just to get menus -- my husband ended up pulling them up on his phone. When the server finally came by, we were already hungry and thirsty. He seemed very busy, so we quickly put in our drink order, but only half the drinks came out. I ordered a cocktail that never arrived initially, and my husband's Diet Coke was completely flat. The replacement was flat too, which makes me think the soda lines upstairs probably need attention. At that point we just focused on getting the kids' meals ordered. As the food started coming out, I noticed the kids weren't eating their shrimp and fries. After tasting the fries myself, it was obvious the fryer oil needed to be changed. I also asked for the restaurant's famous bread, only to be told this location didn't have any. My husband eventually just ordered a tea instead. The catfish my husband's friend ordered was not good at all, and while my dinner was okay, it definitely wasn't worth the price. The server dropped the check before even asking about dessert, and when we did decide we wanted dessert, it took another 15-20 minutes. To top it off, there wasn't even a bag provided for my to-go food, so I had to carry it the entire 3 blocks back. I Ordered a To Go Catered order of the Mardi Gras pasta which was suppose to be chicken only as it was for a department lunch seafood allergies and no pork diets . I went to pickup it up curbside the pasta had eveything I didn't want inside . Manager offered a gift card and told me they would get my order right I waited for an additional 20 mins to ONLY to be giving another Mardi Gras pasta with crawfish tails and chicken I was going to Call For the manager again but Too much time already passed I was already late for the luncheon and needed to get back so I drove off. Needless to say I doubt I'd ever order Togo from there again. I spoke so highly of the pasta that some of my colleagues couldn't even get a taste because of the seafood. While very oily, it was delicious and no stinky or metallic flavor. The crab and spinach dip was good while hot, although I wish it had more lumps of crab since it was hard for me to find the crab pieces. The pasta Mardi Gras was also pretty good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the sausage a little crispy on the edges. The medium fried shrimp was a good amount and came with French fries. They only had catfish and shrimp, they don't serve bread and the have a very limited menu with no senior pricing. Our server was fantastic but the food was very slow to come out. Service was fantastic! I will say I ended up with 4 sodas without ever realizing I got a new one. I got the special and just wow! It was beyond delicious. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I ended up eating the entire dish which rarely happens. I ordered water and had to get it replaced 3 times because every cup had some kind of dirt or other particles floating in the water. I eventually gave up and opted for a bottled drink. The bartender was doing her best but was visibly overwhelmed which led to forgetting to bring out certain items. She ended up getting help so that problem was resolved. Excellent customer service, beautiful clean establishment. This restaurant is always packed but service moves quickly. Our server was great from making suggestions regarding dishes and none of her recommendations disappointed. We celebrated my 16 year old nephew's birthday so it is family friendly. Portions were great. We had the shrimp and crab dip, roasted oysters, seafood platter and pasta. The only complaint about the meal was the catfish had a tainted taste. But issue was rectified. The stuffed crab and shrimp were very meaty and the oysters were all fantastic. I also got an adult beverage and the bartender was not shy at all. The loaded bake potato was amazing. Located directly across the street from the Hilton Americas hotel this place has a large seating capacity and an extensive menu of Cajun favorites. Wait staff greeted us warmly and we were seated before the place got full. Had some gator for appetizer and it was delicious. Had the Cajun seafood linguine and was full of prawns , andouille, sausage, and crawfish. Just the right amount of spice and it was incredible. For dessert, I had the banana pudding with a warm sugar cookie. They were served in ball jar, mugs, and the bottom consisted of crumbled up cookies. What a great way to end a fantastic meal. I'm in Houston for a conference and this was across the street from the hotel. When we walked in we didn't have to wait for a table. The service was fast, our waiter was very knowledgeable about all the food and drink questions what we had. The seafood gumbo was everything!!! Our waitress, Tiana or Tiara wasn't very pleasant. I joined my party, that arrived before me. The waitress saw me but continually passed me without acknowledgment. I had to stop her and ask for a menu. She brought me water but gave no one coasters so the water ran all across the table. So I had to ask for some. She took the order but never came back to see if we needed anything. Just keep walking by and intentionally not acknowledging us. She laughed and joked with the table across from us then ignored my table until it was time to pay. Then we we were acknowledged as "sweetheart" and "honey" with all of her teeth showing. My friend highly recommended this place so we skipped in here on a Sunday funday. The restaurant is large and we had no issue getting quickly sat by the staff. It was a Sunday so there were multiple groups of people with their families enjoying the weekend. For food, my friend and I shared the seafood platter. The portion size was so big that even with us splitting it, we still could not finish all the food on our plates. Everything was delicious and fried to perfection. The only con was our server who was not attentive and seemed bothered when we asked for assistance for stuff we should have had. The Patron Margarita was marvelous. The waitstaff brought the warm bread, lightly buttered, em hmm, tasty. It was a large group of us (12) but the waitstaff was a professional, cool, calm and answered everyone's question. Provided some recommendations for starters, entrees and desserts.
