We called D&L because of their reputation for keeping commitments and we are glad we did. Even with a short lead time, Drew found a time that worked for his crews and our timetable. The crew arrived on time and immediately went to work. While the crew leader, Frank, coordinated with us; the rest of the team laid out protective floor covers. Once we all understood the plan the truck was quickly loaded. Of course, a major logistical issue arose and Frank called Drew. We hired D&L Movers for a relocation from Morgan Hill to Issaquah, WA. They packed our belongings with care, loaded two trucks, drove to WA and unloaded into storage for us. Leo Jr and his crew were great. They were friendly, communicated well and worked hard staying focused on the job. Leo Jr was a great problem solver, dealing with trucks and a challenging driveway and an elderly neighbor respectfully and with strong leadership. Excellent movers that are competent and professional. The owner Leo communicated with me promptly leading up to my move, and the 3-man crew that showed up to my door of Jose, Red, and Frankie were skilled and enthusiastic. They were careful with my belongings and packed them securely with paper and bubble wrap. Not a single item broke in the move. Frankie impressed me with his skills, from driving the truck to disassembling my book shelf and putting it back together. Red gave off the confidence of a veteran at his job and leader. Jose worked diligently in packing and unpacking everything I asked. All three worked hard and great as a team. I was given a discount by paying in cash. I hired D & L Movers for a Redwood City to Santa Cruz move--yup, big move. I spoke with Leo a couple weeks prior to the move and got a quote and scheduled a move time. I wasn't able to get a morning move time, but was happy with my 2pm appointment time. Move day, I get a call from Zach around 1pm letting me know that their current job is running late (no fault of the movers, client couldn't find their storage key...) and would most likely not be able to get to our place until 4:30. I was totally cool with this, since Saturday traffic going towards Santa Cruz was always crazy--I figured a later time would help us avoid the traffic. The crew got to RWC at 5pm and immediately started to load. Zach was really friendly and apologetic about the time delay. Let me tell ya, these guys (Zach, Luis and Daniel) worked really hard to get our 2 bedroom + patio + carport (with stairs) storage all loaded with care as quickly as possible. These poor guys worked until the night (11:45) to deliver and unload all of our stuff in Santa Cruz. They had a really long day but kept a positive attitude the whole time. My husband and I couldn't thank them enough for all of their hard work. Wow! Where to begin? We are literally in the middle of unpacking right now, but I had to stop that for a minute so I could write this well-deserved review. We've used D&L for a few moves but this last move they helped us with really takes the cake. Though we called on pretty short notice (less than a week), Drew was so kind and friendly on the phone and was able to squeeze us in on our ideal move-in date. Once the team arrived, everything happened in a matter of a couple short hours from start to finish, and I cannot say how impressed we were with their friendly, thoughtful and caring approach to their service. We wanted to use a local business to help us move to Southern California. D&L Movers were very responsive to my request for an estimate and made me feel like I had nothing to worry about. We did do our own packing to save a bit but that was also offered. The moving crew showed up on time and delivered to our new home as promised. They put every box , bed and tool exactly where we wanted it to go and not an item was scratched nor broken. Wow! These guys were very professional and did everything we needed done in a few hours. We had them move some items from our home to the garage. Then we needed to get two beds from our house to my friend's home. They even took her old beds to the street and set up the new ones. Then they moved a rather large piece from Los Gatos to Discovery Bay. They took that piece upstairs without any damage. the guys offered ideas on how to protect our furniture. While this was not a complicated move we thought it would take 7-8 hours. In fact we were done in 5. I highly recommend D&L for all your moving needs. It has taken me some time to offer my review. I had such a traumatic moving experience with my previous landlord. My Pastors ended up helping me to offer support. The team was great and also really helped lift the experience. Initially, the team of packers came to my old unit to pack my things. I was nervous, at first, but, they were friendly, focused, and professional. It was a small team, but, they were amazing. Super organized. They knew exactly what to do. They used a variety of boxes, (wardrobe, large, small), and great packing material for everything. They packed a large one, almost 2 bedrooms, in only 3.5 hours. Alisa, Ruben, and Miro--thank you so much! Next, the crew came to load my belongings into the van. It was a tight squeeze in my apartment complex, but, they maneuvered the large moving van well and moved it for my neighbors. These are big, strong, guys, but, they were very kind and professional. They loaded the truck and unloaded it at a storage facility since my new apartment was not ready to move into yet. Although I had two of the largest storage units, they were still quite small and the team managed to fit my many items neatly and securely into both. Afterward, all the work was very neatly displayed on the order and the payment process was smooth. When unpacking my items, it is very clear that a lot of thought went into how to pack them so that they would be secure/unbroken. These guys literally live by their slogan of offering the red carpet treatment. From the very start when I first called and spoke with Drew on the phone, he was clear and concise, broke everything down for me and gave me a very good price on my move. The morning of the packing, a crew showed up and they packed my entire house in a few hours and labeled everything perfectly. On the day of the move, the nicest guys showed up and did some excellent work in disassembling beds, tables, and other furniture. They packed everything in their truck and brought it to my new home. They took everything out, put it where it needed to go, assembled everything, and it was done better than I could've imagined. Hands down the absolutely best moving experience my husband I have ever had and we will be hiring them again. We had originally hired them this past weekend to move a bunch of heavy, oversized furniture out of our house into a storage unit in advance of putting our house on the market in mid-February. Red and his team were incredible; they went out of their way to carefully wrap all of our furniture and deal with Herculean tasks including moving an 800-pound solid wood bookcase without dropping it, moving another 500-pound solid wood bookcase (which required us busting the door frame in advance of the move just to get out of the room) down a spiral staircase and calling Drew to the house for his expertise on figuring out how on earth to safely move it, and ensuring that all of the pillows and sections of our leather couch were properly wrapped and ventilated so they wouldn't dry out while in storage. When moving everything off the truck, they were meticulous and made sure that nothing got dropped or dinged in the process. The more incredible moving experience began fifteen minutes after we got home from the storage unit when we got news that my father-in-law had dropped dead and we needed to get on a flight and be gone indefinitely. Instead of spending Sunday packing up everything else that was left so our painters could come on Monday, we were gone at 6 am leaving an absolute mess of half packed boxes, piles of laundry, random crap, etc. I frantically called the owner of D&L after we had landed on the first leg of our trip and asked if there was any way that they could come into my house and pack up EVERYTHING on Monday otherwise we couldn't get our house on the market for at least another 2-3 months. Even though they were completely booked, they came through and scheduled a moving crew led by Red again for Monday morning. Red and his team worked all day to empty every single room, closet, and garage of EVERYTHING - clothes, toiletries, linens, random knickknacks - you name it, they packed it. While they were busy, my husband and I were able to focus on helping my mother-in-law to meet with the funeral home and schedule the funeral and make all the arrangements. I can't thank them enough - they went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to get our house on market when we were on the verge of cancelling all of our contractors and our real estate agent and exponentially decrease our stress and anxiety level. We will absolutely be using them for our next move wherever in the US we end up. read more

Life Savers! We've used D&L twice (moving apartments in Cupertino and again from apartment to house) and they are hands-down the best there is. The team - Freddie, Mike, Micah, Sal and Erik - showed up at 9AM sharp, we broke for lunch at noon, and everything was wrapped by 2:15 for a 3 bedroom house. Insanely fast. They packed up random items for us in wardrobe boxes, laid down walking mats through the house, and even took their shoes off since we just did the carpets in the two extra bedrooms that morning. We used D & L Movers to both move our home furnishings from our house into our garage, and then 2-1/2 weeks later to again move the furnishing back into the house. The team of four was expertly led by Rob; highlights of their excellent service were the following: (1) The team was timely; they arrived exactly when they said they would and the work was exactly within the estimated duration of time. (2) The team was incredibly efficient. They closely worked together to properly blanket and plastic wrap the furnishings, and then orchestrated an efficient piece-by-piece move into the garage, making use of every available inch of space! (3) They showed extreme care with each and every piece of furniture. This included some very heavy cabinets, chest of drawers, night stands, bookcases, bed frames, etc. (4) They had ample packing materials available for the job: blanket wraps, plastic wrap, cloth tarps for protecting the floors, etc. (5) When moving items back into the house, they worked together closely as a team to efficiently unpack the garage and meticulously reassembled cabinets, bed frames, and furnishings once repositioned back in the house. Karen and I have moved 12 times over the last thirty years for our careers and family. Each time we did it ourselves. This time we decided to have a mover do the work. Best decision ever. I prepared our belongings, packaged and wrapped, ready to move. Michael, Daniel, and Drew arrived and immediately I knew we had made the right choice. Michael had his red "carpet" ready to lay on our floors, he assessed our needs, asked the right questions about our move, what fragile items they needed to be aware, and started to assemble his team with tasks and directions. They in turn asked very good questions and then began the move. I thought I had everything right for the move. Nope! For example: I had packed our sofa pillows in double heavy duty bags, and wrapped with shrink wrap. Michael, Daniel, and Drew then wrapped them in moving blankets secured with tape. This is standard procedure for them. When it came to moving our white furniture, they stopped, asked permission to wash their hands before touching the upholstery, placed clean gloves and then shrink wrapped, and blankets before they moved them out of the apartment. The move into our new place was done with the same care and attention as the move out. Even though this was their second move of the day, they never flagged or not show a real pride in their in work. I will say this about Michael, Drew and Daniel: When we move back to our home in Nevada, I will ask for them specifically through D&L Movers. They exhibited professionalism, pride, and spirit, even through no lunch break, exhausting heat, and a thirteen hour work day for them. If I was the owner of D&L they would be my "First Squad" to call. P.S. To those who choose D&L, remember, these men work very hard and never asked for a break or a drink of water, They are committed to moving you safely and quickly. Overall, the movers were helpful, very nice and I'm grateful for the hard work they put in. However, not one of them wore masks or had any to put on. All of my stuff (furniture and boxes) was moved into a storage unit. It is a bit disappointing that boxes were stored along the back wall in front of heavy furniture. I have no ability to access them should I need to. If you have moving supplies on hand like tape, packing paper, padded covers, etc request they use yours or you will be charged for their supplies. I would use them again but now having experience, I know what to keep any eye on and how to keep that time and material cost down. read more

Called because I got a referral. Didn't talk with Drew, but his "business partner" seemed clueless. Didn't listen, talked in circles. It never seemed like he knew what was going on. Maybe it was a bad day for this guy. Never even got him to even give me a quote. But I ended talking with Drew who called to follow up with me and make things right. I have no doubt now about why the reviews talk about him as almost miraculous. He came over in person, sent guys to handle my moving (they are loading my Pods). The two guys he sent were great, not just at loading, but were friendly and helpful. After listening to me, Drew took what was a not so great beginning and made me a fan. I had no interest, time or patience to pack up and physically move my things to the new house so I started shopping around for professional movers. I left a voice message for Drew and he called back within the hour. He was confident in being able to provide an accurate quote over the phone, which I appreciated. Of the 4 local companies I spoke to, Drew gave me the most comfort in being able to deliver on his commitments. I have a 6 bedroom, 3 bath, 2500 SF home and they had 7 people show up for the day to pack. They were on-time, everyone introduced themselves and immediately got to work. Everyone was polite, sweet, nice and just cool! They packed EVERYTHING in my house in 4.5 hours! I came back and was flabbergasted!! There was NOTHING left unpacked. I'm pretty sure I walked around looking like a kid in a candy shop, totally giddy that everything was done. On the day of the move, Drew, Leo, Matt, Hayden, Zach, Jose and Josh showed up (most of whom looked like body builders). There was not a moment of idle time. The company that moved me out was terrible, lousy, broke 3 pieces of furniture... then on the day they were supposed to move me in, they didn't show up, call, or email.... just left me standing at my facility. I was screwed. So I got on Yelp and the phone and started calling people to find a new mover. Drew from D&L was professional from the very 1st call. Got me a quote immediately to move it the very next morning. They showed up on-time, took the stuff out of storage, pointed out damage from the previous movers and actually repaired many of the items on the spot, re-wrapped everything professionally, loaded it in the truck and off we went. They moved my entire home. They were courteous, thorough, helpful, worked hard, professional, pleasant, clean, careful. I couldn't be happier and more pleased with them.
