This place was amazing! I'm always so skeptical of trying new nail places but it was great. They just reopened because they had been renovating for 3 weeks and everything is brand new inside now. This was the best dip manicure I've ever gotten. They spent the time cleaning underneath the nail and cuticle after putting the dip powder on my nails. I walked over from my house prepared to drop at least $150 on services. Full set, pedicure, maybe even some brow tint and waxing. Place was empty on a Saturday afternoon, other than the staff. I ask if I can get serviced, and they say no, they are appointment only. I'm told, despite NO ONE BEING THERE, I can make an appointment for later... that they'd rather wait for people who aren't there then service me. I thought about it, but the place looks a bit run down. Best thing about it is the location. So if you do decide to use them, don't be like me...make an appointment with them first. read more

You should definitely visit this neighborhood nail salon! People rave about Patrick (with good reason) but honestly, the entire staff is great. I only get pedicures and have had zero problems. They updated the salon within the last few years and it is very relaxing and clean. Again, the staff is what matters and they are better than any pedicure I've gotten in Dallas. The last time I wrote a review for this wonderful business was in 2018, and it's time to write another! I have been patronizing D&J Nails for years, and I absolutely adore the staff. They have done my nails and listened and talked me through multiple family weddings, deaths, and so many other life events. Tina always does a beautiful job with my nails, giving me advice on the color and complimenting my choices, even when they're counter to her preferences. ;) She and I alternate between conversation about our families, small talk, wild giggling, and comfortable silence during my appointments. She knows it's meditative for me to watch people do nails--which is part of the reason I even get my nails done in the first place--and lets me sit and watch her and zone out. When I got engaged, Tina was the first person I told after family and my two best friends. Then, when my husband I chose a wedding date that gave us A LITERAL WEEK to prepare for our nuptials, Tina was game to do my wedding nails with very little notice. She is an angel. It was my first time here and i think I found my new normal salon! I got dip powder. The lady was very gentle taking off my last set of dip set nails. The manicure job itself was well done. If you normally get dip powder, sometimes it's filed over unevenly. But Tina actually smoothed it all over perfectly! I'm honestly so happy. I've been salon hopping for months on months. They did an awesome job, near perfect honestly. Nail dip was fair priced. And it was done quicker than at other salons, which I see as experienced. They know what they're doing. This place has been here for over 16 years. We called on a Saturday and they were able to get us in within the hour for 2 pedicures. They did a great job! They are being safe as well requiring mask, requiring you to wash hand upon entry and taking temperatures. They are also sanitizing everything as they are used. This is a place to go to get business done - it's not a fancy place but do a great job for a good price. Would recommend for the assertiveness, price, safety- sanitization, effectiveness. I have terrible issues with "runner's toe" and am prone to getting hang nails. Patrick saw this right away (I've Burchard my toe nails to try and stop it) and he made sure to get them immaculate and beautiful!! He was so gentil and thorough from start to finish. I would have paid FAR more for this kind of treatment anywhere else-- for a "basic pedicure" this was above any beyond. So excited to have found my go-to place in Dallas on my first try! Went in for a pedicure on Tuesday of last week, everything was going well until she started cutting down my toenails. To my knowledge I had no hangnails, however, the nail tech (younger girl in the salon) cut out what I'm assuming she THOUGHT was a hangnail. It immediately started bleeding and I pulled my foot back in pain but she just put it in tub and acted like it didn't happen. I was hesitant about letting her continue after that but let her proceed nonetheless. The day after it was a bit sore but nothing too concerning. Now a week later, my toe is swollen, red, and hurts to walk. I will absolutely will not be going back. Nail tech didn't apologize even after I verbally expressed that she hurt me. Complete disregard for the situation. Now I'm concerned that this could be infected. Save your money, or take it somewhere where they are gentle with clients. read more

Please disregard the review that gave 2 stars! They SANITIZE the equipment in machines in the back room.. I'm looking at them as I type. I appreciate the fact that the equipment isn't taking up the whole shop since it is small! They also do CLEAN, hot towels too! They've been open for a long time and could not have continued if they didn't sanitize. There's always gotta be someone trying to ruin GOOD small businesses! Great place! This was my first time here. I was in the area waiting for a car repair and decided to stop in and get my nails done. I received the best pedicure ever since I have in Dallas (9 months) and I have been in search of a great pedicure. Tina is the business on the pedicure. Time is detailed oriented, careful, gentle, and great at responding not to specific needs. She also does an excellent French pedicure. And an awesome thing I have never seen, is they line the basin of the pedicure tub with this giant shower cap. Talk about protection. I also got solar, pink and white nails done. They are well done and look fantastic. I can't remember the lady's name who did my nails, but she was professional, careful, and made sure I was happy with the result. Great experience here. Just moved to the area and was dreading the process of finding a new nail salon. Happy to say I found it on my first try. Kim did my powder dip nails and did a fantastic job. The shape is beautiful, no pain in the drilling or filing process and she got them nice and thin for a natural look. So pleased. This is a small salon without the fancy junk some of those spa-like places have, but my experience in those places has been rushed services and high prices. The price was super reasonable and Kim took her time to make sure my nails looked great! They instruments were clean and they had a large selection of colors. Like I said it's a smaller place so it's better to make an appointment. I walked-in on a Thursday at noon and only had to wait about 15 min, but I'll make appointments from now on. Parking can be an issue because it's in Bishop Arts district, so that's something to think about. I'll probably Uber if I ever go on the weekend. If you need fancy chandeliers and cheap wine at your nail salon, this isn't the place for you. But if you like quality work, supporting small local businesses, and great prices I highly recommend! I needed a Mani- Pedi so I called D.N.J. salon to discuss fees and the possibility of an available opening. The lady I spoke with told me the price was $37 and come over because they had time and space for me. When I got there I had to wait approximately 15 minutes but that was okay. I didn't expect them to drop a customer, that was there, as soon as I walked in the door. When they were ready someone escorted me to a chair. They started the water for my feet to soak. The man working there came over and started to remove the nail polish on my feet he said this is just for pedicure right I said no it wasn't it was for both and his reply was that they don't have enough people to do a manicure and because they were busy I could only have the pedicure done. I asked how much the pedicure was and he said $25 So they wanted to charge me $25 for a pedicure when I had scheduled a Mani- Pedi which was going to be $37. Having already started, I would have just had the pedi part done, if they would charge me accordingly by they insisted that since I was only having one thing done that the cost would be higher. I feel that this is extremely poor customer service because they changed the rules after telling me something different. I drove all the way there because of what they had told me on the phone. I have been coming to this business off and on for the past 3 years. They are a small, locally owned Bishop Arts salon. Customer service waxes and wanes with wait times and services offered. For the most part, they are friendly and offer water bottles to keep hydrated. Their spa pedicure with their new machines is pretty awesome. Prices can be a bit higher than area norms. read more

Terrible experience. Walked in this Saturday morning around 10 AM after passing by the huge sign on their building that states "Walk-Ins Welcome". I proceeded to park my car, and then I walked in. I was greeted by a woman at the back of the nail shop screaming, "What do you want?" I said, "I would like a pedicure, please." She then said "Come back later!" I politely said, "Okay. What time?" She waited about a minute before screaming, "2:30!" I asked just for clarification, "Do you all not accept walk-ins? Because your sign outside on your window states otherwise." Then one of the male techs screams, "We are booked!! Goodbye!!!" I get it- it is Saturday morning in August at a nail salon, but they had only been open for business for one hour. I felt dismissed. I will never come back to this place of business. Very, very rude. Their sign should state, "Appointments Only" or "SATURDAYS: By Appointment Only". Don't waste your time looking for parking in the busy Bishop Arts area to come to this salon- you might be turned away! read more

5 star pedi. That's all that counts here. There's way fancier locations to go. But, I'm a big fan of street tacos and corner pedicures, which lets me save for putting my fancies somewhere else. Patrick may have done one of the more thorough pedicures I've ever had. Super detail oriented, not a touch of dead skin left. And he left me alone to read way outdated magazines. My one suggestion would be to get a subscription to current smutty magazines. It's what most of us want during a pedicure. read more
