Egg roll and dumplings
Nancy E.

We went to the Cub Foods in White Bear Lake there were food trucks selling their wares. I got an egg roll and dumplings and a cold Thai tea. It was very good. We ate in our car and enjoyed the food. There were other vendors there also. We had a nice time.

They didn't skimp on the egg roll fillings, which I really appreciated. I've gotten egg rolls from other places where it just feels like cabbage and the bare minimum pork, but this wasn't like that. They had a crispy exterior and were perfect. I really love cream cheese wontons, and they were the kind I like best with a sweet cream cheese interior.

I ordered an egg roll and some tempura garlic wings. The food was delicious! It took about 6-8 minutes to be cooked and the staff was friendly and quick! The ONLY reason I put it at 4 stars was due to the excessive garlic chunks on the wings. This was, personally, a lot of garlic for me. If you love garlic, these wings are absolutely perfect! The wings and the other flavors were still really good and I'd love to try their wontons and dumplings. A couple of folks from our group ordered those and they went quickly!! Look them up and see what stop they'll be making next. The bonus is you might even enjoy a tasty beer from a local craft master when they're at another brewery!

Cuban Quesadilla: a unique play on the traditional Cuban sandwich. Although we love their tacos, it is not the only food they serve. They rotate their menu, but there are crab cakes, sandwiches, and other tacos! Keep an eye out for their food truck or check out their website for their list of events. You won't be disappointed.

As evidenced by the name, Tiki Tim's focuses mainly on island inspired cuisine (save for the fried pickles). Their menu is fairly modest in size, comprised of Tiki (shrimp and crab) cakes, fish tacos, a Hawaiian influenced pulled pork sandwich and a smattering of side dishes. While the choices are limited, they've all been quite good. The fish tacos are the highlight for me, with generous pieces of crispy and not-too-greasy fish, but you really can't wrong with anything (bring a knife and fork for the pork sandwich). The converted big blue Chevy is easy to spot on the streets, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Given that we're about as far from the coasts as possible and a long haul from Hawaii, it's nice to see someone aspiring to bring the tropical mindset to the streets of the Twin Cities.

Now that I live in the area I am so thankful that a food truck that serves authentic Mexican food is here ! You don't have authentic food in this Shoreview area really. All you have is chipotle and Pancheros Mexican grill which did not pass the test for good food. Here you have a wide selection of meat choices: Beef: ASADA( beef steak), BARBACOA (Beef cooked in guajillo sauce and spices with the house recipe "not spicy"), cabeza (Beef head), LENGUA, (Beef tongue), SUADERO (Beef skirts), and CECINA PORK: PASTOR (Beef skirt), CARNITAS (Deep fried pork) CHORIZO (Mexican sausage) CHICHARRON EN SALSA VERDE (Crackling pork cooked with tomatillo) CHICKEN: POLLO(Grill chicken breast) TINGA (Chicken marinated with chipotle sauce and jalapeños Trust me it's so hard to find a place that makes lengua tacos which are by far my favorite. I love that the order of tacos comes with slices of cucumber because it's something refreshing to munch on at the end or whenever. The tacos had flavor and the portions were pretty good definitely not small tacos. The enchiladas were delicious and had some spicynes to it which my mom would approve of. Service is always always great and you have the option of calling and placing an order, coming to the place and ordering or doing a door dash order. There is a picnic table at the side if you want to eat these as well. I honestly can't wait to come here in the morning and check out their breakfast menu.
