BBQ pork
Cindy D.

I am so happy I got to try more Filipino food. We ordered BBQ Pork, lumpia (eggrolls) and Cassava cake. All were delicious. I absolutely love their BBQ pork. I do not know what they put in there but it was tender and very flavorful. I like to eat them with a side of pickles. Lumpia were very good, too. I took a bite of cassava cake and found out they put milk in there. Anyways, everything was good and the line was worth a wait. I think you have check out their Facebook page to see what time they open and serve. I guess they change their menu every weekend?

Fantastic Filipino food made fresh to order! We had hallo hallo and lechon. Took a bit of time, there were many orders ahead of us), but this food is worth the wait!

Pinoy Fusion for weekend lunch in front of Phil-Oriental

Found this place on University Ave. one Saturday and got in the (very long) line to get some amazing Filipino grub. Showed up around 12 pm near the Phil-Oriental filipino market. Had to wait for quite a bit as they make everything to order, but absolutely worth it. The sisig was righteous -- hearty and soft chunks of meat in a light but slightly spicy stock base. Loaded with glutamates and some very slightly crispy from frying on the grill. Wonderful on rice. We added some extra thai peppers of our own and this elevated it to complete silence-inducing bliss. The lechon kawali was completely out of this f'n world. Super crispy pieces of fried pork belly, each piece had a good chunk of tender meat. When eaten together with the tamarind dipping sauce that came with it the combination almost made me believe in god - well, anyway, it made me believe that in the Philippines they probably know how to do up pork better than anyone else on the planet. If you aren't eating kosher or halal this is a foodgasm inducing spot for sure. Eat here if you can find this place. And I dearly hope that you find it.

Halo halo is fire, make sure to get this!!

Finally found a Filipino food place in the Twin Cities! Pinoy Fusion is litty. Make sure to get the halo halo, Filipino dessert drink. Pinoy Fusion's halo halo is the best I've ever had!! Sweet coconut milk w/ jellies & beans and topped with a large scoop of ube ice cream! So delicious. Their crispy pork belly (lechon kawali) is dope too, and they give you very generous portions! They seem to be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm, and they're parked right outside Phil Oriental Foods (789 University Ave W) in Saint Paul. Everyone should go here and support good local Filipino food!!

My daughter and I at the food truck. It does get crowded.

The food truck is located right in front of Phil Oriental Foods. There is a parking lot in the alley located immediately to the side of the store. There are plenty of choices on their menu. We ordered the sisig and dinaguan which were delicious. Be prepared for a wait as they cook this food fresh and there are always customers. Come and support a local Filipino business and enjoy some great food. We'll definitely try the BBQ next time.

Love the images of the delicious Filipino food items.

I'll preface this with the fact that I'm not a fan of tex-mex, strip mall style joints. That said,…read moreLa Tapatia was a great experience. The atmosphere was trying to be trendy with the neon signs, rustic-chic, exposed duct aesthetic. The server was amazing. Incredibly friendly and helpful with questions that our group had. The food was also way better than I feared it might be. I appreciated the build-your-own option for a lot of the dishes. I got a large salad with grilled shrimp and it was pretty good. The shrimp was flavorful and the salad bright. I used some of the cilantro salsa that came with the chips as dressing and it was great. It happened to be my birthday and they brought out some churros as a treat, which was really nice. The churros, however, were pretty bad. Super dense and chewy. The service definitely added an extra star and that waiter (I didn't get her name) should get some recognition. I would put this in the "group pleasing", "work happy hour" bucket of restaurants. I would never suggest but definitely wouldn't be upset if the group chose here.

So 2:00pm it was. It was busy and only a few tables were open. Fun drunk menu and lots of local and Mexican beer options. Shared chips and salsa and Guac and both of us got two tacos and dessert and a drink. $40 a piece which wasn't bad. Would definitely go back.

Mozzarella sandwich: by far the best item. a great salty fresh flavor balance on fresh artisan like bread. Strawberry side salad: a nice complement to any dish here, very refreshing for summer

Best food truck in the Cities? Nope, but not bad either…read more I'm a fan of the pulled pork, albeit was a bit disappointed by the cuban sandwich I had my first time here as it was served on pretty generic white bread and accompanied by plain ol' potato chips. When available, the pulled pork tacos do the slowly cooked swine the justice it deserves and are quite good. The buffalo chicken sandwich is also very good and nicely balanced with blue cheese. The tomato basil soup I tried seems like it would make a better marinara sauce as opposed to a hearty lunch for a cold day. So even though some of the menu items could be improved, I'm still a fan since Fork in the Road is really the only food truck that stays primarily in Lowertown most of the summer, service has always been very friendly and, somewhat surprisingly, they're open year-round - the owners obviously have thicker skin than I do.

I work with a diverse group of people, with many Ethnic backgrounds. And as much as I love (prefer) burgers and wraps, I have also come to enjoy rice and noodles. My doctor team had to work on Saturday and we get lunch "catered". Typical delivery options: JJs, Davani's, Chipolte, Vietnamese or Thai. But a new option was presented to the team: FILIPINO cuisine! My mind went "oh no, something new. (Insert grimace face). I know what to order at the regular places. Will I even like it?" On Thursday, I looked at the online menu and grabbed "A" (a Filipino coworker) and asked what things were. I'm not a fan of SPICY SPICY food (like Indian) and she assured me I was safe here. I asked about the noodles (glass and flour mixed with vegetables, similar to fried rice). She said they'll be dry but full of flavor. Lumpia are miniature egg rolls (thin, flaky wrapper). BBQ pork skewer (self explitory). I decided on Combo #1! Saturday: Holy smokes! This is my new favorite place. Let's start back with the noodles. Yes they are dry, but the catering box came with sauces (soy, sweet chili and HOT sauce). I added a little bit of soy just to add wetness to be able to swirl the fork, but the flavor is on point. The egg rolls..2 is not enough. Give me at least 6 and all the sweet chili sauce. Very addictive. The bbq pork skewer... If I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was steak. I was delighted to taste smokiness from the grill. I could imaging eating this at a 4th of July picnic. Combo #1 was filling. Half of the office ordered the combo #1 and the other half did the Combo #2 (Chicken Adabo). How good it tasted was all anyone could talk about the rest of the day between seeing patients. I have no doubt we'll be ordering this again in the future. Again, I was shown that trying new things isn't always a bad thing.

It really felt like eating with family and friends. The ambiance felt fun and tropical with plants and fun decorative items. I can hardly wait to eat here again.
