I contacted a couple different AC installation companies for estimates. Derek came out the house on a Sat to talk us through the process and come up with a plan. Other places were telling me all the reasons I couldn't do something, but Derek came up with a plan to accommodate my old, single walled house. Both Ilima and Derek were very patient with all my questions...and I had a lot. On the day of installation, the guys showed up on time and ready to work. They were all so conscientious and respectful. They did a fantastic job with all the nuances of my house! It was definitely not easy, but I felt they really took the time to make sure it was done right, not just fast. I had my 21 year old air-conditioning system replaced with Mitsubishi split system just about a month ago from D & D Air Conditioning. The price charged by D&D is comparable to other Mitsubishi AC contractors in Honolulu. It is all about "the service" that sets companies apart and I'm so glad I chose D&D. The staffs that installed the AC in my 2-bedroom and living room/kitchen townhouse were respectful, efficient and very neat. I'm just sorry I did not write this review sooner as I can't recall their names. In any event, there were 3 installers who came on time at 8AM and worked through what is generally considered lunch time and completed the installation by 1PM. And they left the area they worked in cleaner than when they came. I would (and have) highly recommend D&D to my family and friends/neighbors. read more

D&D staff and field techs are by far the best to deal with. I called them to request a service call today and was told they were really busy and had no appointments available for another 2 weeks. They offered to put me on a wait list which I was so grateful but to my surprise the rep called a few hours later and sent a tech over today, the same day I called. OMG what good customer service. I would recommend them to anyone needing air conditioning service. Call them!!!!!You won't be sorry. Helpful, courteous and just plain awesome.. locally owned and in business for many years. Excellent service from this company. I purchased 5 Mitsubishi air conditioners to replace my 21 year old air conditioners. Derick and his staff did a fantastic job changing out my system. All of the workers were personable, hard working and took care to make sure nothing was damaged in the house as a TV, sofa, etc had to be moved to get to the existing units. They were very thorough in cleaning out the old refrigerant lines and checking the drain pipes to make sure they worked as required. They also made sure they did not leave any rubbish behind as they rechecked every room and outside area to make sure they were clean. At the completion of the job, Derick patiently explained the remote system and each A/C unit as I had 3 different types. He also assured me that I could call them at any time should I have any questions. A pleasent surprise was Derick informing me that I am eligible for a $150 per unit rebate from Hawaii Energy.
