Need to give a huge shot out again to Brian and his team. We had to get another 18,000 BTU LG window unit unfortunately, because ours started not to cool efficiently. Our understanding is was ether the refrigerant was low and possibility could be the compressor. So we decide to order another 18,000 btu again through the app. Next morning Brian called my wife first thing in the morning and asked when we wanted to pick up our unit, so professional and amazing guy. I picked up the unit and came home and swapped it out in 1/2 hour since the housing didn't need to be changed. The bottom line is we will not go anywhere elsewhere to get AC units just because how professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and caring Brian and his team are. Please don't hesitate to contact Brian. He has a great passion for his clients and business. We need more people like this Thank you Brain and Team!! Iron sharpens Iron!! read more

I have nothing but praise for Affordable Home AC. Brian was very responsive to my initial phone call asking for a replacement window AC. He came over to check the space and to see what was needed, suggesting the right size (BTU) for my condo unit and making sure the AC he carries will fit in the slot of my old one. He gave me an honest quote and then we scheduled. On installation day, Chris and Omar were very considerate. They did a great job in removing the old unit and installing the new one, caulking around the unit and putting a coat on the shell of the unit to prevent rusting. Brian followed up with a phone call to make sure everything went well. I would surely do business with them again! read more

hired Affordable Home AC to service my Fujitsu split AC unit. They diagnosed a bad motherboard and compressor, both covered under warranty, but I still paid a hefty labor charge for the repair. About 2-3 months later, the unit stopped blowing cold air entirely. I called both the technician directly and the company's main line multiple times -- no response, no callback, nothing. I had a second HVAC company come out to look at it, and they found the compressor was still leaking refrigerant because it hadn't been connected properly in the first place. Basically paid for a repair that was never done correctly, and now I'm out the labor cost with a broken AC unit again. The new company I called is actually doing the job right and fixing what should've been done correctly the first time. I've also reached out to Affordable Home AC again since getting this diagnosis and still haven't heard back. I wouldn't trust Affordable Home AC with your AC unit -- if something goes wrong after they leave, don't expect them to stand behind their work. read more

Very efficient and worked on a holiday (Veterans Day) to replace my large window AC. My AC also has WiFi so I can control it outside my home. Chris was very professional and was teaching his coworkers the tips and tricks on a successful installation. Chris installed a total of 2 ACs in my place. They are busy but they will stick to their schedule! Thank you guys for installing my ACs!!! They also do maintenance on the units! read more

I found this company on Google. They are located in the Waipahu industrial area across from the old City Mill. The LG AC unit my mother needed was in stock - so that was a HUGE plus. However, she left 3 messages for them during the day on a Friday (May 1st). Brian called her Saturday morning and my mother went to their warehouse that morning and picked up an upgraded LG AC unit (more energy efficient & way more quiet) that was installed yesterday (May 3rd). Yes, we wish they returned her call sooner, but they were likely very busy and/or short staffed. Also, their website has been down since May 1st. Not sure why that is, but tried to visit their website again this morning (May 4th) and it's still down. Hope they get that resolved soon. Overall, we'd recommend Affordable Home AC in Waipahu, and in particular Brian. Brian was cordial; he said and did all the right things. Thank you again, Brian! read more

We had gotten our window unit initially installed by Affordable Home AC a year ago. We noticed our unit started leaking onto the Lanai, and called them up to take a look at the issue. They were able to give us a quote on the phone, and schedule within 2 days. Chris came onsite, remembered us, and was able to remove, assess the issue, and correct the unit within an hour and a half. We also asked him what best practices were to maintain our unit to maximize it's lifecycle. He was honest, and gave us things we should do weekly ourselves (checking the filter to clean) and scheduling maintenance just short of yearly. As people who aren't familiar with AC systems, he's extremely knowledgable, has great bedside manners, and is a really honest guy who isn't money grabbing at every opportunity. We plan to reach out for future services and any other AC needs we will have in the future! read more

Per Yelp it says open 24/ 7. Called the company, goes to voicemail. I went directly to the office. It was closed. Didn't even look like an office. If it's by appointment only, can it state that. Open 24/7 is very misleading. I ended up going to another reliable company, open hours as indicated. read more

The AC unit stopped working in my apartment so my landlord helped make arrangements to connect with Brian and Chris. They were very professional and had a new AC installed in less than an hour. Not only is it energy efficient, I can also control it from my phone and they took the time to go over all this with me after the install. I followed all their advice and sure enough, I came home to a perfect temperature and slept so well for the first time in a while. The LG unit they installed is also very quiet and blows crisp, clean air. Mahalo again for such great service, Brian and Chris. Highly recommend for your AC needs, especially since summer is coming. read more

Brian came over for a free estimate and guided us to the better recommendation for our situation. I was interested in a single unit AC due to the small size of my under utilized rooms. I also have a split system where 1 unit is broken. I was interested in placing a single unit in that room, too. Brian actually did not recommend his single units for my specific situation. I appreciate his opinion and advice. He gave me some referrals that I will look into. Mahalo! read more

So glad I found Affordable Home AC! I needed to find a company that could install a window a/c unit, and they're one of the few that can. I reached out on Wednesday, September 6th, to multiple companies via Yelp's "Projects" feature, and received a response from Bryan M the next day at 10:00 am - his response had estimates for the unit + installation, which I appreciated! I called in that day to discuss scheduling an appointment, and was able to schedule for today, Wednesday, Sept 13. So, complete turnaround time from my initial reach out to installation was exactly one week - awesome! I believe I spoke with the owner, Brian, on the phone to discuss the scheduling, and he answered all my questions thoroughly and patiently. I also want to give a shout out to Chris and Makoa who did the actual installation - they finished everything, including explaining the features and educating on unit care/maintenance, in an hour, and were very courteous and professional throughout. Overall, I highly encourage this company - I really only write reviews for very positive experiences, and the Affordable Home AC team was great to work with every step of the way! read more

I am giving Affordable Home Air Conditioning in Waipahu my highest recommendation to other Yelp users in the Honolulu area. Brian Borges and his team were quick, thorough and cost effective. I work from home and AC is essential for me. Brian's team were able to respond quickly and installed a new LG window air conditioning unit. The new unit is fantastic; quiet, powerful and energy efficient. My home office is much cooler and quieter now. Mahalo to Brian and his team for their excellent service. Chris was great. He got back with me very quickly with the quote for cleaning. And then he was right on time coming for the job. He did a great job cleaning out our dirty A/C window unit and made great recommendations about what we can do in the future to replace another older window unit. We were very satisfied with the job they did and will definitely be using their services in the near future! I would definitely recommend using them! read more

Affordable Home AC did an excellent job in installing a new window unit air conditioner and removing and replacing two other window units. Baby + heat = fussy baby Baby + A/C = happy baby! We got two units installed just in time for summer. I won't have to worry about a fussy baby this summer! Phew! It was super easy to coordinate everything with Brian. He was super helpful and responded quickly to my emails and calls. He also helped to coordinate everything with my HOA. On the day of installation, Brian and his team were pretty fast. He taught us how to maintain our unit, provided the warranty info and also taught us about our AC. I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting ACs installed. read more

Professional, courteous, responsive, good price, pretty much everything you want. This business caters to residential AC and they know what they are doing! I highly recommend Brian and Chris. Fantastic work, fast, neat, everything you want from a business like this. My AC looks awesome and works great. Nothing really more to say except that this is what a 5 star business is like. Brian and his team are AMAZING! This review is long overdue but so happy I can finally take the time to review them. I reached out to Brian for a quote last summer after having my baby. Our apartment is a common place where his team provides service so I was pleased that they were familiar with our paperwork we had to provide to our HOA and complex site managers. Brian provided a free estimate after a walk through of our home. He gave a thorough breakdown and wasn't pushing for a sale at all - simply stated to give him a call whenever we're ready. Prices were way better than other places we checked. He makes it easy to communicate with him and the team through text messaging. The crew that installed everything were fast and efficient. Everything was pretty much done in an hour or so! This entire team is personable, friendly and definitely can tell they are family oriented as they were waving to baby each time they passed by. Brian even checked on our experience shortly after they left and wished us well wishes with our newborn. Thank you for this great experience! read more

Thrilled with the work completed by Affordable Home AC. They did a great job with a tricky replacement project for 3 in-wall AC units. From initial contact to final install was about 1.5 weeks. This included talking to Brian via the phone to see if the project was something they would do, Brian coming out to do an inspection/estimate, and finally the installation day. Couldn't ask for better! The three new LG units work well, are quiet, and were really cleanly installed. Mahalo Brian and team. Strongly recommended! read more

Prompt response, completed job quickly and professionally and cleaned up before they left. Brian and Chris were really helpful!

I had Affordable Home AC install a new through-the-wall air conditioner in my apartment. They did a great job. I quickly made arrangements with Brian, and the installers Chris and Makua (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) arrived at the appointed time and very efficiently removed and hauled away the old A.C., installed the new one, showed me how to use it, and cleaned up. The new A.C. works really well. Excellent service. read more

I needed to change my existing thru-the wall unit and after calling numerous companies and being told they do only split systems or central systems I was beginning to get discouraged. I decided to give Affordable Home AC a call. After leaving a message, Brian returned my call very promptly. He told me yes they do sell and install wall units. What a Godsend! He gave me a very reasonable quote and informed me the they could schedule the work the very next week. On the day of the installation they called and showed up earlier than expected. They promptly went to work in removing the old unit and installing the new one in about 1/2 hour. As a retired construction inspector, I've worked with numerous contractors before and I can tell you these guys are the real deal! They were fast, efficient and very neat. Brian and Chris took the time to explain how to operate the unit and how to fill out the rebate form. This company is no shibai and will not jerk you around. By the way the LG unit they installed is very highly rated. I will highly recommend this company. Try giving them a call first you won't be disapointed. read more

Expect a quick response if you message Affordable Home AC via their website, scheduling a free estimate is a breeze, and employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and give five star customer service! I was impressed when John showed up on time, asked intelligent questions, took a look at my existing a/c unit by neatly removing it from the casing, and then patiently explained my options ... even showing me pictures of what I could expect and ensuring I purchased the right size unit for the space. After getting an estimate and approving the price, it took a couple of weeks to order my new a/c unit and schedule the actual installation -- a delay I was perfectly fine with since my neighbor flooded my kitchen and I had to live with a dehumidifier and fan for 3 days! -- but once scheduled, again, what a breeze! Brian called ahead of the appointment to make sure I was home and showed up with the new unit and cleaning equipment neatly loaded onto a cart. The care in which Brian made sure my flooring and carpeting remained spotless while removing the old unit was doubly impressive because the appliance had to weigh a thousand pounds. Okay, maybe 50. Seriously, I am totally grateful when a business treats your home with respect and aloha. Brian had the process and technique down to a wire, so the entire installation was less than 30 minutes! Now when I look at my new remote controlled GE 10,000 btu energy efficient a/c, it just warms my heart while I enjoy the cool air. Cheehooo! Bottom line, I highly recommend Affordable Home AC to anyone looking to replace a window a/c unit. Check the website so you can see how other installations have turned out, and also look at the photos of the employees so you know who is going to show up at your door. Prices are affordable and they will recycle your old a/c. If you pay by cash or check, save 3.5% off credit card processing fees. As Fran C. would say, no can go wrong! read more

Just had my 20 year ac finally replaced and I'm so sad we didn't do this sooner! We were def suffering from the heat with our ac that was so loud, not blowing cool air, and wasting so much energy. Called Affordable Home AC and spoke with Brian to schedule a free home estimate. Brian was professional, quick, and kind, he was straight to the point (no up-selling or anything) and we decided to schedule an install 2 weeks after. On the day of install Chris and his partner came 15 mins early and completed the project in 45 mins (we had two units installed)! Chris is also super friendly and he and his partner worked quickly, efficiently, and kept the area clean at all times. I love love love my new ACs! This company is definitely trustworthy and great at their jobs! I called and left a message on their machine and they called me back the following day because they do their installations throughout the day and return late in the afternoon. I scheduled an in home estimate with Brian and was trying to replace my living room Friedrich unit and was recommended the LG as a quieter and more energy efficient option. They returned a week later with the installation team and after an hour, they were finished. Installation looked great, everything was sealed up front and back and framed with new trim wood. The unit is sooooo much quieter than the last one and I am a happy customer with nothing but great things to say. Thank you to Brian and Chris for your hard work and kind words read more
