I needed a/c installed for 2 locations. Our rental unit and a new home we bought. For our rental, in 2025, John initially did the walk through with me and we decided on how he was going to run all the lines and where I wanted all the units. Day of intall he showed up with a crew and electricians. It took about a day, it was a big job, difficulties of installing due to attic location and where I wanted the outdoor unit. At the end of day our tenants were enjoying a 36K outdoor and 3 indoor units to supply cooling to their living room and 2 bedrooms upstairs. Fast forward to May 2026, I had another project for him. Again, we did the initial walk through, where I wanted everything to go and how he would hide all the lines in the attic and only the one line from the 42K outdoor unit going up the wall. Again he came with a crew of 4, including himself and an electrician and within half a day, we had a 42k outdoor and 5 indoor units cooling 1 living room, 1 den, and 3 bedrooms. I used Cool Guys Mechanical twice to service the a/c units in my house. The first service was for a deep cleaning. The a/c in my living room was DIRTY from not getting it cleaned in a while and also having 2 dogs and dander getting sucked in. After the cleaning the a/c was blowing strong air again! The second service was because our units stopped blowing cold air. They found the a/c Freon was leaking so it was addressed and fixed. No issues with the a/c since! Con artists! The technician came to my house to fix an AC. The technician who serviced it said, "It's not really clogged so no charge." A little more than 6 months later they sent a bill to my property manager. They claimed their billing person forgot to charge us! They charged my wife $300. A $50 travel fee. Total con artists do not use them or you'll regret it later!! read more

Warning!!!.....Cool Guys Mechanical is a rip off. They came out and said it couldn't be fixed and wanted to sell me a new unit (very expensive).... I called Dynamic Air who had worked on it before. (they were not available at the time)....they had a cancellation and came out today.....They fixed it in 30mins with no parts. The problem was not the AC unit but the Nest thermostat had a bad relay! I recently bought a two bedroom apartment on Ohua Avenue. Soon after we moved in, the front zone AC system started leaking. Not knowing what to do, I called a real estate management company to ask what they do in situations like this. The response was swift and stern. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING ANYONE IN THIS MARKET FOR HVAC OTHER THAN COOL GUYS! So I called and the owner john said, I'll be right over... He came and assessed the situation, said a new drip tray needed to be fabricated and gave me a price. I called around and found out he had quoted the best price by a thousand bucks....he go the job! John's team was amazing!!! We had the four upstair split A/C go out. We were initially going with another, big name, company but found out they were scamming us. When I reached out to John and sent him the images done by that other company, he was able to use them and get the warranty squared away (we have a 10 year warranty). The other company was trying to tell us the warranty would not cover the damaged coils. I just can't say enough good things about John and his team. My son is autistic and follows folks around the house and he can't speak but John and his guys would always talk to him so nicely and definitely didn't make him feel like he was in the way or annoying. His team was very respectful of the rooms they worked in and worked so clean. I had to clean up after teve's plumbing (Forgot the "S"). Don't use that company by the way, and if you have, ask for an invoice breaking down the costs and you'll see. And the value alone would have me calling these guys back, but they do phenomenal quality work. John's estimate and invoice was extremely clear on everything planned and I truly appreciate the transparency.
