Our Fujitsu Split Air units are old, and purchased from Aire Conditioner Shoppe so we continue to go to them for repairs even though the warranty expired several years ago because we liked the service technicians in the past. It's always a challenging event to schedule an appointment because the owner (Neal?) takes all the calls himself and he's frequently (always?) rushed and busy. He can be very brusque and a bit rude... Same thing this time. He actually asked if he could call me back since he had calls already on all his phone lines. I said ok. TIP - have your model numbers ready before you call, he won't look them up in his records. You may need the inside unit model numbers and serial numbers and/or the outside unit's depending on the problem. I, knowing nothing never seem to get it right ahead of time but after this last service call, I'll be ready for next time! He confirmed that he still had parts for our units even though they are old so he agreed to service them but he had a wait list two to six weeks out! Fortunately we were going to be traveling and could manage without the A/Cs for a few days so I said ok since I'm of the mindset that bringing in another company that I know nothing about may cost me more and I don't know if another company that I can trust. (But what do I know?) Also, this was the first time he was back logged so much. In the past we'd be serviced within a few days to a week from when I called. (But I think this is more the trend now with many companies I'd all kinds.) He called back a day after we returned from our trip saying he could send someone the next day and of course we said ok. We had a new technician who was just as nice as the old crew was. He was able to fix the units quickly since it was a simple problem ; thermostats). We asked if he had any idea how long our old units would last and of course he couldn't give an estimate (understandable). He said they could have problems again soon or even keep going a few years. We asked if we would get a discount if we replaced our units and were told that yes, Neal would give a discount to repeat customers. Two weeks ago (the six week mark from our initial call) I had a VM from Neal, he didn't seem to realize he'd already gotten our units fixed and was asking (hesitantly) if we still needed our units serviced. Or maybe he wasn't sure if the job was done so was following up to be sure? I did appreciate the follow up even though it wasn't needed.

Just had my 30-year old Sanyo split AC replaced with a Mitsubishi from The AC Shoppe. Called…read moreMonday afternoon, and Kua came out first thing next morning to look at the set-up. By Thursday morning, my new Mitsubishi was up and running! It was supposedly going to be done in December or January but apparently, they had a last minute cancellation (after going to the site) so I guess since they had a whole crew with no job, I was moved up!! Alex and crew came by within an hour of a call from owner Neil. They took down and took away the old unit, and quickly installed the new one using the existing hole and drain. It is offset from center because the new unit is narrower, but it was either that or drill a new hole in the wall. Afterwards, they cleaned up nicely and helped put my furniture back! Very happy with the result! I know the warranty is for 12 years, but my Sanyo lasted 30, so I'm hoping for the same luck with better maintenance on my part. As for Neil and some of the negative comments here, I think people misinterpret his straight-forward talk as rude. I personally like it if someone just tells me straight and not beat around the bush! To me, he was very friendly and helpful. Not sure if he remembers, but the AC Shoppe installed my old Sanyo 30 years ago because they happened to be next door to where my wife worked.
