I have worked with Derek on 2 projects. First one was commercial (upstairs rooms on a 20K+ SF warehouse). He and his team met with me, reviewed the project (which had some difficult design issues), and provided a comprehensive bid. CoolAir was selected/awarded from the 4 bidding contractors to do the project. Completed on time, and on budget. Based on CoolAir's excellent performance in my commercial project, I selected them to install split AC's in my house. 3/4 of the way through the project, an issue arose. All equipment was moved/rerouted, and Derek's crew finished in 1 day (which was included in the original bid). Stellar job by CoolAir. Highly recommend. 6 star. read more

I contacted Cool Air to service a split system with four units after they came recommended by a friend in Kailua. Freddie and Sean were right on time, I received updates about their arrival. They were clean, kept furniture covered and were courteous and friendly. I don't have any other companies to compare to but I will be asking them again for regular service. read more

They installed 2 systems in my home. Back of the house and front of the house using ducts in the attic. Service requests for maintenance and repair for the last 10 years have been quick, responsive and reasonable. Cool Air stands behind their work and installations. read more

Worst service every. Poor installation led to lies, cover ups more bad service trying to fix the problem and made more problems for example larger leaks and water damage. I'm the end they couldn't be trusted to fix the AC issues and a more reliable company innovative AC had to fix the mess read more

The best AC company by far. Awesome and knowledgeable workers. Very Reliable and prompt.

Derek and his team (3 people total) are very friendly, professional and timely. We installed two split A/C units in our main living spaces and they have been working exceptionally well, no problems thus far. The team works very quickly, so they are in and out of your home quickly, not wasting any of your time. We highly recommend their services if you are in the market for having air conditioning installed in your home. read more

Derek (the owner) and his guys installed my Central AC unit, great service and good clean work he even let me know that having a larger AC unit is not better (cause I had the thinking the bigger the better), he let me know that when you get bigger AC it would create problems like mold, and he saved me money $$$! I recommend them to anyone looking for AC in Hawaii.. right now its to dam hot here not to have AC.. read more

This company has installed all of the carrier units in the DR Horten homes in Kapolei. I have been told repeatedly to go to COOL AIR to get any warranty work done on my split system. With the stroke of magic I was able to get them to come out and attempt to fix my brand new AC unit that was installed by them. The unit is leaking from poor installation. Issue is still not resolved. In short, They don't return your calls, they do very poor work. read more

Great company, Great system. Owner Derek easy to work with workers are knowledgeable and efficient. Derek Did AC jobs for me no complaints.

Poor service, negligent staff, horrible installation practices. Recommend using a different contractor.

Wow! Great crew great service great company. What a blessing to know there are companies out there that are fair and care about the customer. Derick runs the most professional organization and has an awesome set of guys doing great work. I cannot say enough of how great they are. They put in two new central air conditioning units in for me at an AWESOME price and a timely and efficient way. They completely revamped the way my ducts in my attic. It is so much better than what was originally done when the house was built. I would recommend this Cool AC to ANY AND EVERYONE! read more

This company installed all the Carrier split AC units for DR Horton. I've had nothing but problems with my split ac. The install was conducted poorly and incorrectly. I've tried to call them multiple time but no one answers they phone nor do they call back. read more

Derek and his crew did an awesome job installing my new central AC since the one downstairs finally died after 15 yrs when they installed them the first time. I decided to change the upstairs one as well since it would probably go soon. They are very professional and very knowledgeable. They came on time and was in and out in 4hrs! The system they installed feels fantastic, cool and quiet! Thanks Cool Air! read more

I wish I could give 6 stars. The expertise and service Derek and his Cool Air team provided was above and beyond. We always suspected our central AC system wasn't great when we bought our house 2 years ago, but when it stopped working we called a number of other companies that were either unavailable or ended up offering band-aid solutions. We are SO LUCKY a friend suggested the the Cool Air team. Derek called us immediately after we reached out and his team came by the next day! They evaluated the whole house and gave us an incredibly fair quote for what needed to be done. It was so refreshing and I cannot say enough about their customer service! We decided to move forward and Derek's team was in our driveway the next day and worked so efficiently to knock it out. These guys are AMAZING!!! read more

Cool Air Inc. is great to work with! Owner Derek made a quick and convenient appointment and sent his expert technician right over. Technician John Capirma was at our home and worked until he found a cracked pipe in one of the 5 split system HVAC units and repaired it on the spot. The entire system is now working like a charm. John and his co-worker were wearing masks and could not have been nicer or more efficient. Thank you Derek and John. I highly recommend Cool Air for their excellent and professional service! read more

We've been using Cool Air to maintain and install both split and central air conditioning systems in our house and they have been great! Really efficient and great workers. Minimal disruption and showed up when they said. The split a/c works great and our central is properly sized now to cool our house. Glad we called them! read more

These guys are horribly incompetent. They installed three split AC units into our home and we have had endless problems (i.e. leaking down the wall, no cool air running, etc.). The funny thing is, when we had them come check it out when it was still under warranty for that first year, not only did we have to have them come three times in the first year to fix it, they also admitted "yeah this was installed backwards/wrong blah blah blah" AS IF THEY WERENT THE ONES WHO DID IT. And they charge $160 an hour just for labor. Why would I pay the same people who couldn't install it correctly to "fix" it? Especially after they "fixed it" multiple over the first year. And here we are in our second year of owning and one AC is shot and they don't even care. See the attached photo for their response when i asked if we could get somebody out to check it since it's leaking again. They're too busy for business, just in case you thought about calling them. read more

I've dealt with Derek, the owner, and one of his guys Micah who I can attest have integrity in their business and look to do their best by their customers. They are busy and run a tight ship, they were able to add a visit to my issue within a day of contacting. They also were willing to offer information to teach me how these work so I can do proper maintenance, counter to what I found online. Beware of the advice you find online! Ask these guys for some help and in my experience they are forthcoming with their expertise. Thanks guys read more

I was in a pinch with a central air unit which stopped working on one of the hottest weeks. Cool Air came out right away, with a professional staff who diagnosed the issue and repaired my AC v.s. AC replacement as another company had recommended. Saving me thousands of dollars! Refreshing to have had the experience of a very honest company. If anyone wants a company with integrity I recommend Cool Air! read more

Had very great results from Cool Air for central air conditioning needed for my husband's health. They were fast, efficient and courteous at a very fair price. I highly recommend them for residential areas. Thank you Cool Air! read more

Derek did a great job on advising me what type of system is best for my needs and home. He is very intelligent and professional. On installation day he brought his crew in and the did the entire central system in a day. His team worked efficiently and cleaned up after as if they were never there. It was a pretty big job and I couldn't be more happy with their work. I have referred Derek to many of my friends who are also satisfied with his work. Quality work at a fair price. read more

We are coming to our second year at Pohakala and I have 2 units that don't blow cold any longer. During our first year while it was still under warranty DR Horton had Cool Air come out to service a unit that would constantly have water draining into a bedroom. They adjusted the angle multiple times and eventually we even had to remove and replace the water barrier behind the drywall. This particular units needed to be seen multiple times. I had spoken to Air Cool directly during one of the first instances and was told the unit was installed improperly and that they would have a supervisor come out to check their techs work. 3 of the 5 units have oxidation/rust scaling that started to emerge during the first year. Nothing but problems with these units from the first 6 months of purchasing our new home. This isn't a reflection on DR.Horton. My advice? Have a reputable company go over all your units prior to your warranty expiration to save you time and money towards near future repairs. I'm forced to now have another HVAC company come out and repair or replace these units. read more

I just had Cool Air install a split ac unit in my living room. The owner Derek personally came to my home to give me an estimate. He also recommended the size and brand. He was very professional and personable! His crew was awesome too. They were very polite, they always removed their footwear when entering my home. They even asked to use my vacuum to clean the debris caused by the install and took all of the packaging/boxes with them. I'm super satisfied with my new unit. I highly recommend using this company if you're planning on installing ac units! read more

Warm Aloha to Derek and his team!! They responded immediately, diagnosed the issue and thank god they had the materials. They had to build out new ducts in the ceiling as the central ac we had was obsolete. The team was very professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and understanding ... The cool air crew was super friendly and very efficient and professional. Did a great job installing my a/c central air conditioner. Worked fast and very clean. I went into the attic and didn't believe how clean and organized the duct work was. I've had the ac for 4 months now and its problem free. Happy that I hired them to install my ac. These guys are the BEST. Their crew completed the job in a 1/2 day and we're awesome. We just went thru a complete home remodel and out of everyone we used, plumber, electrical, contractor, painters, the ONLY one I would recommend is Derek and his central a/c. ADORE THIS COMPANY. I would buy stock in them if I could. Terry Galvin Hauula read more

I would not recommend this company. They serviced my unit 3 months ago. I noticed my outside pipe dripping and my inside drain was clogged. I went up the attic and found a lot of mess and the pipes where not even cleaned. I decided to call three weeks ago and spoke to Jeff after 5 calls and a voicemail. I told him the situation and he said they were busy with a big job. He said he will try to get someone out. A week after I had to call again, no reply. ( called 3/7 days). Third week I spoke to a guy name John and same thing. They are probably waiting until I give up and stop calling. Well I spent almost $100 for a crap job. Ernest was the guy that serviced my home. Derek is the owner and I am not sure if he is aware or cares. Do not go with this company. read more

Been trying again with the company to get a call back for service. They put my a/c unit years ago and like them at the time. But we need service and once again never get a callback. Guess they just wanted the money and don't bother to help you if you need it. I said the same thing back in 2016 hoping to hear from them NOT. Don't bother with them. read more

Wanted to get ac done in my home so I contacted Cool Air and got a quote. They said they'd contact me as soon as they could find something suitable for my home. A couple days later I got the quote and I said when can I make the appointment. They said anytime as long as I give them a 7day notice so they could order everything they needed for install and 50% of the costs. So I waited a couple of weeks and decided to take a chance. In less than a week that I made the appointment they said they were ready for install, I was shocked. So the day they came in they were early, appointment was at 8am and the installers were there at 730a bringing supplies into my home. All I got to say was man these guys knew what they were doing, excellent job. They finished around 1pm and I'd say that was extremely fast. They did a three split ac install inside plus the main unit outside, plus everything in between. All I have to say is great job and thanks again to Ponci and the crew. read more
