We had an issue with our central AC. Contacted Malama AC was one of the first ones to get back with me with and came down to troubleshoot. Git a quote but it turned out the quote was for a wrong part so they gave me an updated quote. After they came to replace the part, they found another piece that needed to be replaced and that made the initial estimate jump to more than double. I wasn't happy initially (it's not their fault that the parts are expensive) but they were kind enough to work with me and found the best solution. At the end of the day, I was really happy with Malama AC and would definitely hire them again on future projects. read more

Thank you Malama Air Conditioning for coming out to my house in Ewa so quickly. The two guys that came out were very professional and checked out everything and determined the AC works well and it was an electrical issue. Thank you for the detailed work order statement. It turns out the solar company nicked a wire when drilling through the wall. They denied it at first but with Malama A/C confirming it's an electrical issue, they came back and found the damaged wire and repaired it. A/C was out for a week in Ewa but now it's working. read more

Malama Air-conditioning. Local Company. The Owner Matt, was confident that he had enough knowledge and experience to resolve my ongoing Leak issue with my split system air-conditioner. Thru out the years I had numerous well known companies come in every 6 months for cleaning and/or servicing this one unit for leaks. Recent cleaning was done in Jan 2024 and the unit began to leak again. So I called Fujitsu hotline and spoke to Justin and he recommended Malama Air Conditioning. Malama crew showed up the same day and once David dismantled unit and saw all the sludge, grime, gunk, in drip pan and behind coils he decided to return the next day to do a DEEP clean. Which took the crew 4 hours, from 3 pm to 7 pm. David would not leave UNTIL he knew it was resolved to the best of his ability being that another company and numerous companies worked on this unit. He also noted the air Handler was not positioned correctly. So he Repitch the unit as much as he could to allow proper drainage. The 3 man crew was David the knowledable lead, Elijah young Hawaiian Fabio who had knowledge of AC units (his Uncle Matt taught him), Tama young quiet Samoan. Deep Clean runs $375.00, pricey but if your AC is leaking or not working properly and you keep doing basic cleaning and nothing changes, you need to call Malama Air-conditioning for a deep clean. Trust me, you can thank me later. Workers show great work ethic. Lead David was very thorough and would not leave until he felt it was his BEST work. Pictures don't lie,this is after numerous cleaning. Support Local Must Do, Must Call Malama if you are having issues. Also Matt hires young people, teaches them a skill for life. Matthew at Malama Air Conditioning was excellent! My wife and I recently closed on a new home and for some reason, the unit was unable to cool our house. We booked an appointment with Malama and Matthew showed up on time and ready to assist. He quickly diagnosed our AC unit had a bad capacitor. Matt was very responsive and his team of techs were courteous. His crew did arrive later than expected from what we originally scheduled (apparently due to one of his vans breaking down). Matt did have to come back the next day to fine tune some items with the units and look over the work completed from the previous day, nonetheless he contacted me immediately and addressed them all. He offered to come back if there was any other problems and thankfully the units are running smoothly. The cleaning is on the pricier side compared to other vendors, but from what I can tell it is a very detailed and thorough cleaning. read more

I had a minor emergency when the central air system stopped cooling. Given the heat right now there was no way to do without being able to cool the house. I called Matt, who installed that system, and even though he was off-island, managed to get a guy over the same day to troubleshoot. My central AC crapped out after 14 years of battling the Ewa heat. After getting quotes from 4 different AC companies, I've decided to go with Matthew and Malama air conditioning. First and foremost... we're all tryna save a bit of $$$, and get bang for the buck. The estimate I got from Matthew saved me at least $2k in caparison to the other companies, for the same AC unit. I was very impressed with his professionalism and customer service. For all other companies, I had to wait 4+ days for them to submit a proposal. Matthew sent me an estimate the same day he came to check out my AC. Along with the proposal, he also sent pics of prior jobs that he had done that were in the same community, and for the same fixes. His response time was very quick. Often within minutes of me texting him a question, he'd call me back with the answers. Talk about next level of service: the day I approved the proposal and paid the deposit, he brought over a portable AC unit to keep a section of my house cool while I awaited my appointment date. Our 20+ year central air began to have issues & didn't cool like before. Matt, the owner, came the next day & was the only guy to check the pressure & coolant levels. After giving us some options, we decided to go for a new system & saved us a almost $3000 from other quotes.
