Melvin and his crew came in during hurricane Lala 8/15/26. I was for sure he'll cancel but they showed up. They finished the job in the rain and the wind. I'm extremely happy with the result and I highly recommend M.A.C. The pricing was also the best out of the others that I consulted. read more

An update to my initial review- We had a failure with one of our units which Melvin installed a little over 2 years ago. We paid him around $17k for all of our units. Contacted Melvin and he came by the next day to diagnose it. He diagnosed it quickly as a faulty circuit board, and told us he'd be in contact. He then avoided me and gave me the run around for over 2 weeks. I'm not sure what happened. Frankly, it would've been nice if he would've just communicated. He did not. Be wary. read more

Great guy, great service. Melvin was easy to contact and I would definitely recommend!!

Melvin was very responsive and resolved our split ac issues with great service at a reasonable price. He worked warranty actions and was able to get parts covered on a unit (covered under standard five year warranty) he did not install himself. Melvin performed needed maintenance, replaced failed parts and left our unit like new. Mahalo! Raul read more

Price was great, guys were great, and stoked to turn my house into a walk-in freezer! Highly recommend!

Melvin's Air Condition Melvin and his partner came twice to repair my home split a/c system and to check why my three wall units were not producing cool, dry air... The first visit was to add Freon; the second visit was to dismantle the three wall units and to clean the debris that had accumulated over 10 years of operation. With graciousness and expertise my a/c system is working up to par. Thank for your expert service Marvin! Mrs. F. Wong read more

My 15 yr old split unit made terrible cracking noises and then konked out. I called Melvin and he came over to the house the next day to go over my options and price. I had to go on an emergency mainland trip and he agreed to install my new units while I was away. I was so happy to return home with the new units installed and ready to work. Very trustworthy and clean workmanship. They also do efficient and well priced air con unit cleaning/maintenance. read more

Been living in our new house for nearly two years and have not done any sort of maintenance for our 3 split A/C units. Melvin A/C was responsive and professional. Excellent communication, as Melvin called before the technicians' scheduled arrival and then he called later in the day after the technicians left to follow up and everything was up and running properly. We were able to book an appointment within several days after the initial phone call, and their technicians were efficient, respectful and prompt. They arrived just before 9am and by 10:15am, all 3 A/C's were done. Services were priced similarly to other companies, but we were also given a military discount, so pricing was very reasonable. A/Cs all run like a dream. Highly recommend Melvin Air Conditioning! read more

This company canceled on me last minute, proved unreliable, and even made rude jokes about my AC unit instead of helping.

After first phone call and message he did not return any messages. I understand the admin side of the trades is poor but it's still frustrating to plan around a service date/time and it falling through and having to start from ground zero again. read more

Not professional and doesn't respect your time. I set up an appointment for Melvin to come by for an estimate to replace a dual zone split AC system. He said he'd come by after lunch the next day. So I take off work to meet after lunchtime and 2:30 rolls around and no shows. I text him and he says how 'bout 5pm? That's way too late for an "after lunch" appt. Never contacted me to say he's running late or apologize. read more

Thursday night my split unit started spouting water from the front. Not good. Started looking for a repair service first thing Friday morning. I called Melvin and he offered to come to my house right away take a look at my unit. No one was going to be home so we arranged for him to come first thing Saturday, this morning. He was at my house before 8:00, unclogged the drain and gave the unit a deep cleaning. I mean a really deep cleaning, inside unit and outside unit as well. She's purring like a kitten now and I couldn't be happier. Melvin's work is quick, efficient and reasonable. Could not ask for more. And what I like best is that his is a locally owned and run business. read more

Called for a quote and Melvin came out the same day to take measurements and meet. He sent the quote over the next day. We signed the contract (I think on a Tuesday) for 2 splits and a compressor that can run both since the rooms are right next to each other. Melvin, his crew, and electrician came out to perform the install the following Monday. They were all very pleasant, personable, respectful, and clean about their work. It was a blazing hot day and these guys worked very hard. We are very happy with our decision to go with Melvin and will recommend him to our friends in the future! read more

Melvin is good, he did fix my condo's ac, which was leaking water, and he did not charge me extra for coming back to fix it again, for which, I think he is better than most ac guys that I know. read more

Living the condo life most my adulthood, I am learning a lot about living in a house and the amount of maintenance it takes. One day abruptly, my Daikin AC began to leak. After some research, I concluded that my unit needed a cleaning. Not knowing who to call, I turned to Yelp to find a someone to service the AC. I made a request on "My Projects" via the Yelp app to find someone to look at clean my air conditioner. I got several quotes, but what impressed me the most about Melvin Air Conditioning was that he provided me with clear description of what the quote entailed. My husband and I appreciated his professionalism and we look forward to his next visit for a regular cleaning in a year! read more

Had a split AC installation done in 2023 for a second floor living room. I also had an existing 220v panel that needed wiring through the crawl space. Melvin came by to measure the living room and gave me an estimate. Once I decided to pull the trigger he and his colleagues were able to get it done in half a day. Other than a few communication hiccups the job was done well and fast. read more

Top notch. Will call Melvin first whenever I need AC stuff. Can recommend. (Split AC)

Update: I have been using Melvin's services now, regularly. He is a great guy. Absolutely without a doubt, skilled at his profession. My first review for him and his company was early on, but I have to say, he still continues to work hard and do his best for his customers. He is quick, efficient, and most of all, flexible. He has fit me into his schedule on multiple occasions now, and I cant thank him enough. If you need AC servicing, please contact Melvin and his team. read more

Outstanding cleaning very fair pricing! Prompt service and gave a fair assessment up front.

What can I say about Melvin? The quality of his work speaks for itself. We recently had two ~20 year old split AC units replaced and the entire experience was great. From the initial consultation all the way through to the final installation Melvin and his staff were sensitive to our needs and made sure the job was done the right way. I'd recommend this business to anyone shopping for AC services for the following reasons: - Quick response time - Competitive pricing - Excellent customer service - High quality work Thank you, Melvin!! read more

Requested the basic maintenance cleaning for 6 splits AC systems. They did a very thorough job and even diagnosed low cooling in one of the split systems and fixed it - a very noticeable difference. I only recently found out ACs, especially ones that are used frequently, should be serviced once a year. Melvin and his team are now my yearly AC maintenance service - they will have my repeat business. Fast response time and they also offer a variety of other AC-related services. Highly recommend. read more

My AC hasn't been working for 5 months. Called Melvin about my issues with head plug on the outside unit keeps tripping and never addressed the issue I told him. Had an electrician check out my outlet and everything is fine and even said it's the AC that has the problem. Called him a few times to schedule an appointment to repair my AC but never didn't contact me back. Very bad customer service! No quality in his service with the customers! read more

Highly recommend!!! As summer approached us, we were struggling to stay comfortable in our home without AC. I contacted Melvin and was expecting to be put on a LONG wait list, however Melvin put me on his schedule to install my split AC unit the very next week! Him and his team came on time, were very professional and FAST!! They were quickly in and out of my home. They made sure to clean up afterwards and secured all the wiring. The very next day, Melvin even called me to check in on my AC unit. I'll be using Melvin again to do the rest of my home. read more

Melvin and his team were exceptional. Extreme value for what you get. They show up on time, make sure they protect your house from getting dirty and clean up when the leave. We have 5 split level systems with 4 of them never cleaned.....and they are almost 20'years old. They clean everything....taking out the blowers.....using cleaners to kill the mold and mildew .....and when finished run the units for 30 minutes to make sure it's working and draining and no problems. We had one unit that was leaking and they stayed until they resolved the issue. Compared to other quotes I got, Melvin was 60-80% cheaper.....extreme value. Will definitely use him again. read more

I definitely recommend and will be using this company for all of my AC maintenance and cleaning needs. Melvin responded very quickly to my Yelp request for a quote - this was on the Friday evening before Christmas! I found really bad mold while cleaning my air filters. The mold was deep inside. After watching YouTube video on how to clean it, I decided it was time to call the professionals. Melvin came to my rescue and was able to clean my units the day after Christmas. Thank goodness since I run my AC every day. His quote was a great deal considering it was a deep clean. He and his helper arrived a few minutes early and went promptly to work. They hustled the entire time and cleaned my 4 split air units in 1.5 hours. I liked the small things - a nice clean towel right outside my door to wipe their feet since they were going in and out. Another towel right inside the door. Drop clothes, clean rags. They worked fast, neat and clean. I wish more companies were like Melvin's. Thank you Melvin for such good work! read more
