When I reported it the front office said he was sitting in front of my house for 30 minutes trying to call me. 1.I have no missed calls. 2. Checked the cameras monitoring the front of my house thirty minutes before and after appointed time and no trucks were ever parked there. 3. Couldn't get out and ring doorbell? We have a unit in The Waikiki Landmark and we're introduced to this company by our general manager/board of directors. All owners were strongly advised to have our A/C units completely changed for approximately $25,000.00 or in the very least, have a complete inspection, maintenance, and cleaning for approximately $2,500.00. We chose the latter and had them proceed with the work. We then had this company do annual cleaning and maintenance as advised by the general manager/Board of Directors. After hearing that they spent only 10 minutes at each unit(non-resident owners) for annual cleaning/maintenance work from another owner, I decided to have another company step in in August 2023. What they discovered was abhorrent and downright unacceptable: -the second bedroom's pan was completely rotted out, It was rusty and obviously had not been replaced for years. -the filters in the main bedroom and kitchen were filthy. read more

We needed duct cleaning for our air conditioning. We had alot of dust in the ducts and the return and since our family has bad allergies/sinus problems. We needed this done asap. (It was greatly appreciated) i noticed the prep work took awhile and rightfully so. They covered all our furniture, tvs etc....with plastic. Speaking of plastic. Long story short. With a phone call, an estimator was sent a couple days later to do a detailed estimate both with basic servicing and a total overhaul pricing. I'm glad I was given options. I went with the $2,500 basic servicing and repair because the total overhaul pricing including four brand new units would have been over $30,000. The Pureair Hawaii workers arrived on time and were exceptionally clean in putting dust covers on nearby furniture and cleaning up after they were done. They planned to work from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but due to some difficulties stayed until almost 6 p.m. they even help me put back some of the closet shelves which is beyond the scope of their responsibility. I had a 9 yr. old Mitsubishi Split A/C system. I understand they have a life expectancy of around 15 years. Oct. 2022: The unit in the bedroom started blowing out some dark debris, so had PurAir look at it. They performed cleaning on the whole system and maintenance, including a recommended leak seal on the condenser to fix a lack of cooling. Paid about $1,300 for the cleaning and almost $700 for the leak seal. 9 months later, July 2023: The same unit starts blowing out the debris again. Called back PurAir, they cleaned the system again, charging about $1,400. 6 months later, Jan. 2024: It stops blowing any cold air. Called back PurAir to diagnose what happened since I paid them $3,400 so far. They said the condenser was leaking (again) and needs to be replaced. Charged $800 just for the diagnosis to be told that. Then gave me a quote for $6,300 to replace the condenser. So over 15 months I paid PurAir about $4,200 for cleaning, maintenance and diagnosis of a system that they now say is unfixable. Didn't get any indication from them earlier it was on its last legs. Asked the owner Pat for some credit given how much I paid them in good faith and what a new one costs. Would not budge - nothing. Ended up finding another local contractor who replaced the Mistubishi condensor with a new Mistubishi for much less than their quote, about $4,800. Everything is working perfectly. So I have to question what was the point of PurAir's services that cost me thousands? Based on my experience, PurAir is overpriced, their services do not last long, and they are very inflexible with their customers who have spent a lot of money with them in good faith. read more

I manage a 204 unit apartment complex in the middle of Kakaako and lets just say that our shared laundry room gets it from the residents. I have been a customer of Pur Air for about a few years but never wrote a review. This time I knew I had too. First off Vicky was just amazing in her customer service; she walked me through the whole process in what they completed in our laundry room. Her personality is contagious and she is the real reason I will not look any where else to service our Laundry room vents. When you think of hard workers you think of Sam and Renie. We need more workers like them. They showed me a before picture of my Laundry room vents and it was filled with lent , dust and all the that stuff left behind from drying your clothes and to see the after picture , I knew would be requesting this group in hopes they can be our regular technicians. One of our split AC units stopped putting out cold air... I called around and found Pureair Hawaii to be one of the only companies that services Freidrich AC units. Everyone from the rep that scheduled us to the technicians that came out to the house were super friendly. They were able troubleshoot and diagnose our Split AC unit problem. The technician discovered that a gecko had fried against the main control board. He recommended swapping it out with a new board or since our AC unit was 15 years old potentially replacing it with new one. I decided to swap the control board out myself, found a used one on eBay for about $120 after shipping. All in all Purair completed the work in a timely manner and for what we were originally quoted. Horrible experience with an A/C thermostat install and cleaning. Field crew are ok, but office is a complete unorganized mess. After agreeing and signing a pricing agreement, once workers showed up it became this "you absolutely need..." massive expansion of what we needed, and quotes went back and forth all day with the office personnel. This is AFTER the owner of the company did a site visit and approved/confirmed the work needed. Once work began, it became a full 9 hour day to simply replace (2) residential thermostats and clean the duct of a 600sq.ft. apartment. Then office forgot to add advertised "10% discount", and responded with "Oh, btw, we forgot to add another install price". This exceeded the 10% discount they forgot to add, and had the nerve to invoice me AGAIN, a full 2 weeks later. Office girls are completely clueless, field personnel turnover is constant... Be forewarned... this company is barely holding on and completely incompetent! $4k later... Gag!!! And the thermostats don't seem to be working accurately! read more

Scheduled for Two days cleaning the central AC ducts of two floors on Thursday and Friday. The last day ran into a hiccup. The team stayed on to assure the family that they weren't abandoned until the arrival of the A-team around 7:30 pm on Friday night. It only took the A-team Less than 10 minutes to troubleshoot and resolved the issue and the system has been running successfully afterwards. The team lead by Kella and A-team by Lee are all professional, organized, courteous, polite and kept the house clean. Absolutely horrible customer service. Called this company early in the morning- the woman I spoke to "Shawna" said they were completely booked till next week. I explained it was an emergency as water was leaking from our ac unit into the wall and we had a tenant moving into the unit in four days. I own a condo in Honolulu that I use as a rental. Shawna then said they could squeeze me in the schedule and she booked an appointment for me in two days. I felt relieved and reassured that this problem would be fixed. A woman called me back in the afternoon around 3pm and said she "accidentally" double booked and the technician would not be able to come out. And the appointment was just an inspection. They weren't actually going to fix the problem. Big news to me after the fact. Then she said that the earliest available would be mid next week. Then I proceeded to tell her that the woman I spoke to this morning said she could squeeze me in this week given our emergency situation. Then she said that was her and she made the mistake and could "no longer" squeeze me in as they didn't have availability. My suggestion- don't book an appointment with a customer then cancel and tell them that you can't give a similar appointment around the same time frame. Don't tell a customer you can actually fit them in when you can't. I told her don't make an appointment for me. The entire appointment process gave me a bad taste in my mouth. They waisted an entire day of my time when I could have been calling around for other companies & getting the ac problem fixed sooner. This company seriously needs to train their employees on customer service. Taking my business elsewhere. Found an ac company that is coming to do the repair tomorrow. I contacted Purair on 9/30/19 as they are just around the corner from my condo. Pat came, looked at the two air-conditioning units, wrote lots of notes and told me that the office would contact me for the service I really wanted, which was a regular change/cleaning of the filters. I paid him $200. No one ever contacted me. This year I tried again. I spoke to a woman in the office, explained that we'd had a visit from Pat. She said she'd look into it and call me back. She never did. I called again myself a week later and she said she wasn't sure if they had the filters (they are a standard size) and she'd check with the warehouse and call me back. She never did. A week later I called a third time. This time I got a different woman and explained all over again what I was waiting for . She said she'd call me back. She never did. So I gave up. read more

We've worked with Pur Air twice and we've gotten good service each time; they're well informed and willing to work with us to find the best option for our budget. We had our AC replaced in our condo unit in 2014 and we've been pleased with it so we called Pur Air again when we found mold throughout after we had been away for 8 months. Over the phone they listened to the problems we had and suggested a few different ways to fix them, giving estimated costs as well as pros and cons. When we made our choice we called them and they set up a time to initially drop by about 10 days after that first call. After looking at the problem last Friday they had a team here on Monday, they arrived at 1:30pm (they said they would arrive between 1-2) and left at 5:30. Before they left, Rommel showed us everything they did to clean the ducts, to remove all mold and to prevent future mold. He had installed UV lighting and showed us the switch that he had labeled in large lettering so it was easy to spot. We live downtown and they do a lot of work in this area so setting up the time may be easier here, they got to us quickly on Monday because they were working on an apartment in the building next door already that morning. Overall Pur Air is what I hope to see from service professionals; they helped us understand our options without taking advantage of our ignorance on the subject. read more

However, we got quotes from three other vendors and all three said there was absolutely nothing wrong with our unit! They don't care about "ohana", they just want money at the expense of customers. I called PurAir because I needed work done on my AC in the Princess Leilani building. I talked with Kenny who was very helpful. They sent workers out to my unit who was on time, but the worker that they sent, one of them couldn't speak English, he was actually the one that supposed to know what he was doing. The other guy they sent wasn't actually a guy but a buchi. I figured I didn't want to be there while they were working because of course they had to move all my things around and cover everything with covers. So I left, when I got back from picking my daughter up from school I guess they were on lunch because they had a portable stove n my living room frying up bacon or something. I didn't want to be rude so I told my daughter to go in her room and do her homework. So they continued to clean up there picnic and start working again when they were done they cleaned up and told me the problems they found and what they had to do to fix it. While the helper girl was telling me all that I looked at the foreign speaking so called technician and he seemed to be perving on my 10 year daughter who was bending over picking up something from the floor. They also told me they were going to be checking back in to see if everything went ok. When they left the AC worked ok. The next day the AC suddenly began stopped blowing cold air. When I called PurAir someone put me on the phone with someone called Annie who just gave me so much attitude and sounded like she was just playing with herself I was so pissed off I just hung up the phone. A few days later I went to PurAir and spoke with the owner Pat who sounded like he was trying to lecture me about trying to get work done for free but I wasn't falling for it I told him that his work ethic was a piece of shit and left because he smelt so bad I thought I was going to pass out. Anyways when I got home and opened to AC unit I found believe it or not a sausage clogging up the motor. PurAir is a bad choice, but from what I know is the only company that works with chilled water units which is outdated. read more

Don't bother! All I asked was for a simple dryer hose cleaning and they failed. I'm off one day a week and could only meet to let the guy in on that day. Here's a summary of my experience: First, to give them credit they DID at least call me the day before to confirm the appointment. +1 star. I missed the call but called back after hours and left a voice mail to confirm - there was no subsequent follow up from them. Next, on the day of, my appointment time came (3pm) and went with no call or word from the company. So I called them and they got me in touch with the technician who told me he would be there in 45 minutes to an hour. 4:00. 5:00pm comes, no word from the tech. I call. He now can't come "for maybe 30 minutes to an hour." That would put him here 3 hours from the time of the original appt. time. Completely unacceptable. I understand that this is Hawaii and island time is very real, but being 3 hours late for an appointment is not cutting it. Don't waste your time with this company if you value timeliness and professionalism. read more

Awesome Customer service ! I own a rental unit and the building board of directors had PurAir do a all building inspection. The AC was rusted and need all types of repairs. The estimate was sent over by Kenny (I think GM) was a lot more than I wanted to pay but...I had to bite the bullet and have it done. Fast forward to Today. The repairs were done and I received a Voice message from Kenny..."We pulled the top coil and the rust didn't look as bad as we thought, so we didnt need to change that out...so we are sending a refund for that portion of the job we didnt have to do" I called Kenny back right away and Thanked him for running an honest business. Not sure how long he's been with them but PurAir Hawaii is Lucky to have a good person on their staff...also I wanted to point out..it's 6:15pm on a Friday..he picked up the phone..that's another added star..if I could give one more star for extra credit I would. These guys are terrific - particularly Mike, the technician who did most of the work on our two AC units. Pat, the owner, was very helpful and informative when we first investigated having work done on our units, and was always available and responsive when we had questions or issues. Pat gave us a good sense of the pros and cons of various types of service, was not timid about sharing cost estimates, and let us go slowly as we figured out what we wanted to do. Most of the work was done by Mike, who was punctual, focused, professional and polite. He even came back late on a Friday night (!) to help figure out a mysterious source of water, and fixed it. Hopefully we've done everything to our AC units that needs to be done, but if anything comes up I'll definitely use PurAir. read more

Pretty Disappointed with the service. Had our AC cleaned was pretty much using wet vacuum. Took him 15mins and then he asked how do we make a payment. We asked him what about the drain pan in the AC. Apparently they knew the problem thats why we had it service. But he wasnt prepared for our service at all. We also asked what about dryer duct, he made a call then informed us he needs to have another guy come out because he didn't have his tools. Paid $95 for A/C cleaning when i could of bought a $30 wet vac and did it myself! Didnt even test if theres mold or complete check. read more

PURAIR Hawaii is the a/c company to go with when needing to clean your ducts or fix your a/c unit. Back in 2017, I first used there service to inspect and clean my a/c central system. Although they took a little longer than I expected to complete the job, they did an excellent job and it looked brand new when they finished. Was very pleased and felt good breathing in clean air. A couple months ago I had the coils cleaned by internal maintenance and for some reason the temperature never got down to what it used to be. I called another repair company and they said nothing was wrong and couldn't do anything else. That's when I decided to try going back to Purair Hawaii again for their expertise. Spoke to Kenny who was very pleasant to speak to over the phone and got an appt. Although there was a slight mix up in the scheduling he was able to reschedule me with great satisfaction and much more convenience. Romel, the technician who came out, is a great asset to that company. He remembered me from 2017 and was fantastic in trying to find the problem. As he was trouble shooting the job, he was so thorough in explaining step by step what he was doing and detailed in the inspection.
