I contacted KW on Aug 4th and they slow rolled me until finally showing up to look at the unit on Aug 19. The technician left saying he contacted the manufacture (Rheem) and he would get back to me. Well today, Aug 20 my system is completely down. I called KW again and they said they would order an electrical board and fan motor. Overall service response time has been POOR and now I'm out of AC for who knows how many days until the parts arrive. If they would have simply responded to my request for service at the beginning of the month I would not be without AC.

I *hate* making phone calls, but the receptionist was SUPER nice, so that immediately put me at ease. Their quote was flat rate and very reasonable so I was happy I wouldn't be guessing how much it would come to at the end. She apologized for not being able to get me in the week I called but was able to fit me in the next week - which was faster than I had expected! The technician came at the quoted time and took about an hour, which is how long they had told me on the phone. It says something about other companies on island that this is a noteworthy comment! He was very friendly and worked quickly and efficiently. He showed me the visible spots he had cleaned, but the best thing is now our AC is back to being icy cold - I had to bump it up to make it warmer! - and it smells nice and clean. I paid in cash (there is a fee if you use card. You can also write a check if you prefer). We will definitely be happy to use this company again in the future!

By Thursday morning, my new Mitsubishi was up and running! It was supposedly going to be done in December or January but apparently, they had a last minute cancellation (after going to the site) so I guess since they had a whole crew with no job, I was moved up!! Alex and crew came by within an hour of a call from owner Neil. They took down and took away the old unit, and quickly installed the new one using the existing hole and drain. It is offset from center because the new unit is narrower, but it was either that or drill a new hole in the wall. Afterwards, they cleaned up nicely and helped put my furniture back! Very happy with the result! I know the warranty is for 12 years, but my Sanyo lasted 30, so I'm hoping for the same luck with better maintenance on my part. As for Neil and some of the negative comments here, I think people misinterpret his straight-forward talk as rude. I personally like it if someone just tells me straight and not beat around the bush! To me, he was very friendly and helpful. Not sure if he remembers, but the AC Shoppe installed my old Sanyo 30 years ago because they happened to be next door to where my wife worked. Our understanding is was ether the refrigerant was low and possibility could be the compressor. So we decide to order another 18,000 btu again through the app. Next morning Brian called my wife first thing in the morning and asked when we wanted to pick up our unit, so professional and amazing guy. I picked up the unit and came home and swapped it out in 1/2 hour since the housing didn't need to be changed. Also, the A/C in our bedroom made a noise I found annoying the installer said it was normal and after we paid for his wife to clean our system, the flapping noise persisted. I called and spoke with Sam, the owner about the price to clean the 4 splits & 2 compressors. It was higher than competitors but sounded like it was more thorough so we agreed on it and a time and date. Micah and his younger brother, Cash were prompt and very professional. The promptly looked at the compressors and had a quick look at the inside units and then started cleaning the compressors very thoroughly. Micah then proceeded to clean each split, and happily explained everything he was doing along the way. He asked if we wanted to dispose of the water and junk from cleaning the splits in the toilet but we requested they pour it in the dirt in the yard instead. Micah and Cash were very neat and thorough. The units have never been cleaner (or colder). We were very pleased with their great work and how cheery and professional they were. We highly recommend this company and will use them for our future needs and maybe will clean every 6 months instead of just once/year. While they do cost more than other companies, I really feel they do a VERY thorough job! They were working close to 5 hours doing all their cleaning.
