That company could not commit to a date/time, giving general "we'll send someone over Wednesday", and then it was Monday, and then it was Friday. I found this company here on Yelp so I decided it would be best to leave my review for others. I left a message and Amanda called me back the same day and sent her Tech Gopala to our home. Our AC units were not blowing cold air and Gopala new exactly what it was and changed our thermostats. The turn around time and service time was all the same day. Gopala called me and kept me informed of what he was doing and what needed to be done. ( he also sent me pics) communication with Gopala is he's very easy going and takes the time to explain things in basic non AC language to me. Most importantly he knows what he's doing! I live off island so the communication was key in getting this fixed. Definitely recommend this company and Tech Gopala! We needed an air conditioner to replace our 20+ year old non-functioning one. We contacted Amanda at Sun Electric and AC Service and Richard (One of two owners) showed up one day later. He took measurements and explained the sizing options. He sent us a written quote the very same afternoon for 2 different units. Can't ask for anything faster than that! We decided to go with Richard's recommendation for the larger unit. We set a installation date a few days later. On the date of the install, Amanda texted me about the time. Richard then called me and told me that they were running late due to the traffic/construction in Waimanalo. He showed up about 20 minutes late; not really a big deal. He and Nimai? went to work immediately and began removing our old unit. A few minutes later, John showed up with the new unit(s). He started taking down the interior unit. Gopala (the other owner) also arrived and all 4 of them worked diligently for 4 hours (no breaks) and removed my old units and installed the new one. All four were courteous and introduced themselves and greeted both my wife and I. They finished the job within a reasonable amount of time, cleaned up after themselves and were the most professional company I have ever dealt with regarding home issues. Gopala (who is a certified/licensed electrician) also showed me a slight electrical issue in the power box to the a/c unit. He also explained the remote, how to clean the filters and the condenser fins. Hire these guys. You won't regret it! read more

We got our AC unit installed a few years ago and it's still running great. We had a question a couple months ago about the unit and they were quick to reply and very helpful. If you're looking to get an AC unit definitely get a split system. It's quiet and very efficient on power. Sun Electric and AC installed a large split in our family/dining/kitchen area and a tri-zone split system in our 3 bedrooms. This is a family run business that offers great communication. The initial quote was quick and they helped us select the model sizes we needed and the Fujitsu product line (the also carry Mitsubishi and maybe others). We price shopped three companies. From our experience with a previous installation and competitor quotes, we felt the cost was fair. They were able to come do the install about a week after we paid our deposit. Our job was a little bit complicated because I wanted to hide as much of the refrigerant and condensate lines as possible so I had them routing through closets. Some of the units had just enough space to squeeze in and they were able to pull it off. We also needed one of the outside units mounted to the side of our house, and the other installed underneath our house. The end result is a clean looking installation. I was consulted on how I wanted new electrical to be routed and condensate drains were consolidated to reduce the amount of spaghetti under our house. Walls were wiped clean and all trash was removed from the property before they left. I felt the Sun Electric team treated our property with respect and even took care of a mess that another contractor left so that I wouldn't be bothered with it (without even mentioning it to me). They also promptly delivered our permit and warranty registration. AND... although most people don't usually consider hiccups to be a selling point of a contractor, I will say that while we were the odd ball out and had a few issues that required troubleshooting after the initial install, and Sun Electric came out within 2 days to do the fix, which gives me great confidence looking forward that if we have any problems they will be able to help us out. read more
