And in our eyes, there absolutely nothing wrong with that! LOL!!! We had the pleasure of meeting (and getting to know) Hugo, who did a fantastic job with our tasting experience, and we're excited for his journey and internship with Benom! We were equally excited to see (and chit-chat with) Arnaud, who is always so kind to make time (Merci Monsieur) It was amazing to see a few pictures of how bountiful their vineyard has flourished since the last time we were here! So awesome!! I was quite giddy seeing the pics, or maybe it was enjoying the delicious Origin and Muze that was running through my veins! LOL!!! Nonetheless, we look forward to Benom's vineyard coming alive in the near future! Continued blessings! CHEERS till next time...

My first visit to Robert Hall Winery was made truly special by Richard (I believe I have his name…read moreright!), who was absolutely wonderful. He taught me so much about wine--from its history to the unique details of each bottle--and was incredibly patient, thoughtful, and welcoming. His genuine passion for his work as a sommelier really came through, and I appreciated the time he took to share his knowledge. During my visit, I was also lucky enough to have a perfectly timed appearance soon after I arrived from the winery cat, who later checked in on me again. :) It was such a warm and memorable experience all around. The next time I'm back visiting, I look forward to another great experience--and until then, I'll be savoring the bottle of port I brought home!

She taught us how to not only experience wine, but how to perceive wine for what it was: the result of the people adding their zest, the grapes, the climate, the year and how it all came together to form each vintage year. If you are new to wine and still learning how to experience it, start here and ask for Jacqui.

Upon our arrival, Matt greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome immediately. We settled in with a glass of wine and the snacks we had brought, and the tasting experience was both relaxed and memorable. The wines were delicious, and Matt struck the perfect balance of being attentive and gracious without ever being overbearing. He also shared the history of the ranch and offered thoughtful insight into each of the wines we tasted. We joined the wine club because of both the quality of the wines and the exceptional level of service Matt provided. We look forward to returning to enjoy more outstanding wine and another wonderful visit. We enjoyed the "financial" connection to the wines, with creative finance naming, that made lots of sense with the specific wines. We were told we could no longer do wine tasting outside unless we ordered food, which felt more like a way to increase sales than accommodate guests. What made it more frustrating is that not long ago we were able to enjoy wine tasting outside without any issue. On a beautiful day like today, we were instead seated in the back bar area, not even at a proper table, despite having an infant with us. After 20 years of loyalty, this was really disappointing and not the experience we expected.

Our plans changed and instead of having 3 people for a tasting, we ended up having 5, and they were able to accommodate us no problem. We chose to sit outside where we could view some vineyards across the street. Of the 3 wineries we visited, this is the only one where they brought the wine tastings to us rather than doing the tasting standing at the bar. It made for a more relaxing experience in my opinion, and our group was able to talk and eat the charcuterie board with enough space on the table. The tasting was quite generous, and at the end of the tasting, the owner asked us if we wanted any additional tastes of anything which was a really nice touch. I also really enjoyed hearing the owner's story and which grapes they grow and where they grow on the property.

I heard him mention this tasting room in downtown Paso to a couple sitting a few seats down, but never got there, opting for other "larger" wineries. However, since walking through the door in June 2025, I feel Bushong is one of the best Paso Robles has to offer and really like what Jason says, "We're not focused on making more and more, but making better and better." The tasting room is located half a block off the square at 12th St & Spring St. a very easy walk across Spring, if you are visiting other tasting rooms in town. Jason, the winemaker and Mike, mister "does everything else" serve up some great wines! Walking through the door it feels as if you are walking into someone's living room. The wall opposite the entrance is a wall full of vinyl (that's records, Gen Z). Willing to spin whatever you are in the mood to listen to. The wine names are all music related, as are the labels. Specializing in red blends, Jason does an excellent job getting the most out of each varietal used to create a symphony of flavor in each bottle. The tasting run $25 per person, but is waved with the purchase of two bottles. You taste your way through the lighter offerings, a white and rose before moving on to the red blends and possible the 23 year old cream sherry. So lovely! Everything he bottles has been excellent. I've been very impressed with the quality considering the size of his boutique winery, but really becoming a fan of these smaller operations because of what they produce time after time.
