I was a Mac guy for over 20 years and had recently made the decision to switch back to a PC. I found DA Computer online and saw they assembled custom builds, so decided to give them a try and my only regret is that I didn't find them sooner! I do Graphic Design work and also like to enjoy some good gaming on my downtime, so my computer needs are pretty specialized. I took the list of parts a friend had given me to DA Computer and Mike was able to give me some great advice on where to put my money into parts and where to cut back and not lose any quality. I went out and grabbed all the parts and quickly hurried back to have Mike assemble it for me. What an amazingly beautiful job he did. When half your computer case is glass so you can look at the inside parts it really matters when someone takes the time to wire it nicely and assemble it with care. The "oohs" and "aahs" from every one who has stepped in my office and saw Mike's work proudly displayed on top of my desk speaks volumes and reminds me every time why I'm so glad I made the choice to go to them. I SHOULD have written this review a few weeks ago when he first finished the job but this is the first chance I've gotten to pull myself away from all the beautiful graphics and speed to visit this website. The best thing I have done!! Dave saved me from spending $$$$. My laptop wasn't working for months although it was not even a year old and it would make the noise of starting up but the screen would not turn on. I scheduled an appointment with best buy and within a one minute chat, they told me that it was either the motherboard or a wire problem connecting the motherboard to the screen. So needless to say I was ready to buy a new laptop but the best buy guy told me to go to D.A. Computer and it was the best thing. I went to Dave and told him that I had an online class and I'm still in college and I NEED my laptop. He opened it up right in front of me and told me that he can try a few things. 20 minutes later, I have my baby back up and running. This gentleman is the only shop that actually repairs power jacks in the state. Other shops say then do the work and send it out to DA, my computer took that route, I brought it to a shop they offered to fix it then I get a call from D.A asking me a question about the machine. It was then I found out HE IS THE MAN for motherboard and other repairs. His prices are more than reasonable, he is easily available for questions and will definitely go the extra mile. What Dell wanted over $1000 to fix he did for $130. I am a Professor of Information Systems at URI College of Business as thus do have some level of competence to review repair shops. I bought a used laptop from Dave. The video wasn't keeping up with the sound and it seemed like the computer was running a little slow. I stopped in about a month after I bought it and mentioned it to him. He told me to bring it by no charge. Two months later I took it to him. He looked at it and said I have new laptops coming in tomorrow, I am giving you the best one that comes in. I don't know how you didn't slam it on the floor. I have been seeking Dave's help for my desktop home computer for over 2+ years. My husband and I are not computer geeks. However, we do all our banking, correspondence etc. on line so can't live without it. When the PC contracted a virus we were completely non functional. Dave was referred to us by a friend. If I could give these guys extra stars I would. I needed help with a litany of things and Dave and Mike were spectacular. So, so much was going wrong with my tech and my set-up at home that we actually discussed poltergeists, magnetic vortices, and ancient graveyards. I visited these guys so often over a period of a few weeks with some fresh hell for them to untangle and was always met with patience, humor and an unflagging determination to sort out whatever was happening. I came into D.A computer with an old Apple IMAC because I needed to retrieve some very important photos that had sentimental value for me and my family. Dave was amazing. As soon as I walked into the shop he looked at my computer-- a quick evaluation. That afternoon he called with the good news he could save my data, and after a full appraisal the next morning he called again to let me know what he found. He couldn't save the computer, which was no surprise to me as I'd had trouble with it before, and it was pretty old, but he definitely captured all my data. The whole thing took less than a day. I didn't have to wait and wonder. He helped me figure out what I needed as a replacement, so I was able to walk right into Staples and get a new computer at a decent price. I took my desktop to DA Computer because it just died on me. I had a terrible experience with Best Buy a few years ago so I did not want to take it back there. I found DA Computer online and found it was right around the corner from my house. Dave was so friendly and welcoming. I was lucky enough to find DA on Yelp as I was in need of some help. My laptop was 8 months old and was working fine, then all of a sudden it seemed like the keyboard was locked. I tried to figure it out but needed an IT guy. I went to DA and right away they made me feel at home. They are very personable and very easy to get along with. The reason I needed DA Computer is so mortifying that I never want to think about it again, but DA Computer's service was so terrific - Mike Donato! - that I have to write. In December 2016 I fell for a scam and was thoroughly hacked. I took both my Dell laptop and HP desktop to Mike and Dave. They explained clearly to me what needed to be done, then wiped them clean, re-installed everything, saved all my files, put in a good security system, and assured me I wasn't as stupid as I know I am. We went here because the power connection on my monitor stopped working. Within five minutes, he diagnosed that it was the power adapter that was broken, not the monitor, and he had a universal power adapter to confirm the monitor was fine. He refused to take any payment for the diagnosis, even though he probably saved me $300 I would have spent on a new monitor. He was very friendly, and on the way out (it was a hot summer day), he even offered us sodas! I would highly recommend this place to anyone with computer problems. My old PC died with about 1,000 pictures in it.
