Disappointing experience and refusal to refund an avoidable fee…read more I had a very frustrating experience with this storage facility and would caution others to be careful before renting. Before completing my rental, I called and specifically explained that I needed to store a piece of glass measuring 8 ft. × 8 ft. I asked about the dimensions of the entryway to make sure I could physically get the glass into the unit. The employee assured me that it would fit, and I relied on that information when proceeding with the online rental. I went to the facility expecting to access the unit, but no one was available to assist me. There was no note on the door, and my phone calls went unanswered. Because I needed the storage that day, I proceeded with the online paperwork in an attempt to gain access. When I arrived to be assigned the unit, I discovered that the entryway was not 8 feet wide and would not accommodate my needs. I had specifically asked about this before paying, which made the situation especially frustrating. I requested a refund, and the facility offered to return the rent and insurance charges but refused to refund the $29 administration fee. Even after explaining that I had relied on information provided by their employee, management maintained that the fee was nonrefundable. I understand that businesses have policies, but I don't believe customers should have to absorb fees when they make a purchase based on information provided by staff that turns out to be incorrect. The lack of assistance when I arrived only added to the frustration. What could have been a straightforward resolution has instead left me disappointed with the customer service and management's unwillingness to make an exception. My recommendation: Confirm every measurement in writing before renting and don't rely solely on verbal assurances. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility.

If I could rate them with 10 stars I would. Minnie, Sal and now Linda are just the beginning as to why I still use the facility and why I HIGHLY recommend it. When you pull up to the gate, the facility does well to hide the expansiveness of its true size. In the years that we have rented there, at no time have we ever found it to be dirty or unkept. Rarely, and I mean VERY RARELY, have I ever seen even leaves that may blow around on a high wind day. There is never even dust on the ground even though the back lot is made of rock and dirt! The restroom is always stocked with hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels along with being clean at all times. Whenever I am there at night, regardless of the fact that my unit is in the back and rarely do I see another tenant near me, I always feel safe. At night, there is a security guard who drives the entire facility. And on a personal level, we have, on multiple occasions, fallen behind on our bill. Our unit could have been auctioned off each time. However, Minnie spoke to the owner on our behalf ensuring our payment. (Which we have obviously taken care of each time) The monthly rate not only is less than what we previously paid, but the unit itself is larger than our previous one. If you need a storage unit, and you want quality customer service, look no further. Bridgehead Self Storage is THE place! Thank you Minnie and Sal and my "little Linda" for simply being the amazing people that you are. For always having our back and for letting us know that human kindness still exists.

My mom was moving so Cary S. recommended Bridgehead, saying that the businesses know each other and know who is more reliable and has an employee there all the time. The place is alarmed; if your unit is opened without the keypad entry, staff comes out right away to check your unit. Mom had 3 units at once (different sizes), then consolidated down to 1 unit. We always dealt with employee Minnie who is friendly, patient, thorough, and efficient; that's what we all want in customer service. Minnie always recognized me and my mom. :-D 7 days a week and the hours are good; a friend in Livermore complained that a place near him wasn't open on Sundays, which made me realize that other businesses can be quite a bit worse. The price was reasonable throughout our 12 years, and we felt at peace, knowing that our items were safe and never had water damage. It served my mom well. I know, 12 years is a long time, but that's what it took for my mom and now we cleared out our storage unit.

Oakley Self Storage has been a great place for us to store all our household goods. This place was brand new and offered great deals. They even have a military discount for all the military out there! We got a 10 x 30 because we knew we'd end up putting more in as we moved into our trailer. There are gates to get in and out, of the storage area, that require a personal code that helps keep everything safe. The only complaint I have is their payment system sometimes messes up. We signed up for auto payments every month and it doesn't always come out or it might be the wrong amount (without our military discount). Whenever this happens, we call and they fix it right away. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommended this place for all your storage needs.

I arrived at 9:06, and there was nobody there. At first I thought, "No worries, things happen for a reason." But then I found out there was no one there because they haven't had management for 2 months. This is exactly why so many people are moving out. I advised the Acorn managers of my plans and they were, again, very helpful in my relocating to the space in Antioch. In 2014, a new management company took over where I had my locker in Antioch. As I felt the conditions had changed in my Antioch location for storage and I was no longer comfortable staying in the Antioch location, I returned to Acorn Self Storage looking for a small locker . Again, I was treated like family and took note of the very clean condition of the property and the security monitoring of the entire location. I was impressed by the operation still being top quality and customer service I received when I made the transition back to Acorn.
