How can an Optometry business get 5 stars - I'll tell you how - provide EXCELLENT customer service from the first call to the final check up - that is how. It started with a great phone call and detailed explanation of what benefits they take and that they could see all members of the family in one visit. During the visit, everything was explained to my kids so they felt comfortable with their first real eye checkup. We filled the prescription for one kid and the glasses were delivered faster than the quoted time. Then finally chose a 2nd pair for my other child and same thing! Upon pick up, they did a great job showing my kids how to care for the glasses and clean them - both kids now are confidently wearing glasses when they need to and with a great selection of named brands - they look pretty cool too! read more

Pros: Excellent service. Cons: Frame selection moderate but not expansive I followed the Yelp reviews to this place and got more evidence that Yelp works. This is the first time I've bought glasses. At first I went to Costco (Lakewood). Something was wrong with the progressives I ordered, and I had to go back 5 or 6 times before the dept. manager yelled at me (yes, yelled) and then finally issued a refund after refusing to recast the lenses. In contrast Cypress Pointe Optometry treats their customers like royalty. They definitely know that building their business depends on referrals, and referrals depends on keeping the customer happy. Poy held my hand through the selection process, telling me which frames probably looked the best, how much my insurance would cover, what the available options for the lenses were, and what they meant. I even told him ahead of time that I didn't know if I was ready to buy yet, but that didn't seem to matter. After 15 minutes, though, I knew this was the place I wanted to buy from, so my visit seamlessly flowed into an actual buying experience. There was actually a mistake with my order. I ordered computer/reading progressives, but the order went through as trifocal progressives. When I came back they apologized, and just to make sure Dr. Huang took me to the back room to reaffirm measurements and do some fine tuning, AT NO CHARGE! When my glasses came back I was happy. So what took months and 5 or 6 trips at Costco with no solution took 1 month and 2 visits at Cypress Pointe, and I have glasses that I use now. I did wind up paying a little more, but I think it's worth it. The service at Costco was not only bad but limited--nobody ever asked me troubleshooting questions like Poy did, and nor did they double-check my prescription like Dr. Huang did. I should also mention that Dr. Huang was willing to think outside the box a little. Since my prescription is light, he mentioned perhaps trying a single lens with the prescription in the middle of reading and distance. I didn't try it, but I might in the future. The only thing bad is that the office is a bit small. While most people are going to find frames they like, the selection is not as expansive as say Lenscrafters. read more

I was really impressed with Dr. Huang's knowledge! At my first appointment, he took one look at my eyes and accurately pointed out that I see halos when driving at night because of how my pupils dilate. He was the first optometrist who I had ever seen (in my 16 years of needing vision correction) to ever mention this. It was amazing how much he could tell about me and my health in one second. With my old optometrist, I had always had to repeat my visual field tests and had been under the impression that something was not quite right with my left eye. During my visual field test with Dr. Huang, he took the time to explain how I should be blinking as much as I want during the test to get an accurate result. And wouldn't you know, my visual field is actually fine! This was the most thorough exam I had ever had. He even dilated my pupils! It was also neat to see all the state of the art gadgets and equipment. The dreaded puff of air in the eye is actually not that bad with the newer machines! This family ran practice is as good as it gets. My wife and I went in, and received excellent service. So much so, that I expressed we were having a baby before my glasses would be ready, and since we couldn't leave the home with a newborn in order to go pick up our glasses, they went the extra mile and dropped my glasses off at my home! How unexpected is that? Never have I received such amazing customer service. My experience with them is unmatched, and even though I wasn't sold on the selection they had, they went even further looking for the exact model I wanted, finding a comparable model they had in stock, and it was even covered by my insurance! I wasn't up-sold on any additional products or services, but was presented with all my options available in the most professional manner. Dr. Pochi tested my son's vision, and he was incredibly patient! It's not easy to get a 6 year old to focus, but Dr. Pochi has a great way of rephrasing his questions or displaying the letters so that my son would better understand what he needed to do. Dr. Huang was very professional and honest. Everything was smooth and it was quick to pick out glasses. The glasses work great, my daily contacts fit fine. They have an Optos type machine and normally I would get pressured to pay the extra $40 or so to utilize it. There was very little pressure to have it done which was nice. I ended up paying for it because I had a friend that had spontaneous retinal detachment and was just a little curious about my retina health. I probably won't do it every year though. read more

I have been to 2 other places in the past couple years in Cypress.. and were not happy with them so i thought I would try this place out.. and it was great! The last optometry gave me the wrong prescription and Dr. Huang was very patient and professional and took the time to find the right prescription and contact fit. My eyes have always been EXTREMELY Dry so he went through numerous ones to see what was the best fit for me. He even made a 1 week follow up to make sure these contacts would work well for me and not dry out my eyes. The woman at the front desk was also extremely nice and very helpful helping me pick out my frames. She wasn't just trying to rush me along, but was very patient as well and was great! Quick and easy appointment! Scheduled for the next day, walked in, was seen, walked out! There was hardly a wait, the office is very efficient. I came for a contacts lenses check up since I was wearing super old contacts.. they were dirty and I kept washing them and reusing them. It's kinda like an old dishwashing sponge, it's yucky but you keep using it cuz it works and you're too lazy to get a new one lol.. Dr. Huang is very friendly and extremely personable. I'd like to think I'm a pretty responsible person. However, this summer was just crammed with birthdays, graduations, weddings, and vacation. So, I was 'forgetful' with following up with picking up my contacts. I made a huge mistake of putting old ones in, which then followed with an email to Dr. Huang: "I think I've given myself an eye infection. I've removed the contacts and noticed a green mucus (gross, and trying not to freak out) in my right eye. Removed with tissue, what else could I do." Yes, i know, GROSS trust me my right eye potentially turning into the swamp monster was not on my busy agenda. Vanity aside, this was my eye, my vision! Quickly, I was reassured that this sort of thing happens, and not to panic with an appt scheduled for me the following day. Phenominal service! I can't even emphasize or explain how pleased I was for finding this place by chance. Aside from my momentary freak out, Dr. Huang always takes the time to explain every question in detail. I have to say, its been a long time since I've been to a professional and trustworthy optometry. I was due for an annual eye check up and I really didn't want to go back to the last optometry I've been to because my experience with that particular onewasn't the greatest. I was at work and figured I would just schedule an appointment that's close to work so I can go during my lunch break. I asked around and one of my coworkers told me about Cypress Pointe Optometry and HIGHLY recommended Dr. Huang. She said he's probably one the most genuine person you'll meet. He truly cares about the health of your eyes and ensures that you're in great hands. Since he was HIGHLY recommended, I set my apt to meet with Dr. Huang. Needless to say, she was definitely right about him. I wasn't expecting such phenomenal service but he totally exceeded my expectations. I'm sure from reading all these 5-star reviews about how great this optometry is that you wouldn't want to come and see for yourself. As Kyung Jae has stated, you're not considered a # here but an actually person. I ended up ordering contacts from what was covered under my insurance and Dr Huang did explain the benefits of ordering a year supply but he never pressured me into ordering them. I think it's the little gestures that makes him stand out from all other optometrist I've been to. When I came back to pick up my contacts, he already had all my rebate forms filled and ready to go; all I had to do was put a stamp on it. That to me was more than enough to solidify my loyalty here. Stopped in today after work because I am currently looking for a new eye doctor. I read reviews first and this place has 5 stars. I wanted to see what eyeglass selection they have and also if they carry the brand of contacts I like -which they do. Once I walked in I was greeted by 2 nice gentlemen. Dr. Huang was sitting up front and was more than willing to answer all of my questions. I have never had an interaction with the optometrist like that in the past. They are usually hiding in the back and rely on their front office staff to do all the assisting. Dr Huang was very friendly and when I told him I was out of contacts (that's the reason for me needing an appointment) he brought me out a pair to hold me over. Excellent service. I really really like this place. Definitely going back! Dr. Huang is the best optometrist I've ever met so far. He really cares if I'm comfortable with my contact lenses and he let me try couple different contact lenses to see which one I like better. And he checked my eyes every time I tried new contact lenses. He also gave free stuff to care my contact lenses. I used 1 day lenses so I wasn't used to take care of lenses. But he taught me how to do and everything, which was pretty nice. I went to different optometry in garden grove before this one. And I kinda had a problem that the other optometrist said I had to pay extra money to get my contacts and also extra for my husband's glasses which I never had to pay at Cypress Pointe Optometry cause my insurance covers them. What a shame, they wanted extra money by saying lies!? Not like the shady one, Dr. Huang was so honest and showed me the list with all the coverage I can get from Insurance and explained enough so that I and my husband could understand. This is a really nice place to take care of your eyes. I went here because my friend pick up her glasses. She likes her glasses. So I met Dr Huang, who is really friendly. I decide to come here for my prescription sunglasses. I made a mistake by calling Dr Huang 's cell number for appointment, which I had no clue. Dr Huang still took my appointment, and explained to me about the number. He was so patient. ( I still feel bad about it. Sorry) Dr Huang was really professional and he answered all my questions. I've been wearing corrective lenses for the better half of my life, so I've been to quite a few optometrists. Everywhere I've been - be it Lens Crafters, the Marine Corps, Costco, etc - I've always felt like part of an assembly line or simply a number. This is honestly the first place I've been to where they actually treat me like a person and seem to care about my best interests rather than trying to shuffle the next person in. When my friend first referred this place to me, I was rather reluctant in trying it out. I had been going to the La Habra Costco for years now, and their optometrist retention was a whole lot better than everywhere else I've been that was somewhat franchised. Well, the time came where I needed new contacts, and I was also concerned about my eye health and prescription changes. I'm so glad I decided to come here instead of the usual place. There's really no cons in my experience here which is why I feel it deserves 5 stars. I did make an appointment just the be on the safe side, so I don't know what it's like being a walk in customer. I suppose that's where it all started too. Even that initial inquiry demonstrated fantastic customer service from the get go. All that aside, the tech they have there is top notch. They have one of the newer eye puff machines that shoots out a much softer puff of air than every where else I've been. The facility is pretty much spotless, and well taken care of too. Once all was said and done, so I thought, I was happy to find out my prescription hadn't changed much and my eyes were healthy. I still needed new contacts and glasses, so they worked with me there to find the best deals and what would work well with my active outdoor lifestyle. I highly recommend checking this place out or at least talking with the staff before going to your usual place. They're great at developing rapport while keeping things quick and professional. It's also nice to be treated as a person, not "the 4 o'clock appointment." I'm actually looking forward to next year's appointment which is a first when it comes to optometrists. read more

Every year I went to my old optometrist for the yearly eye exam but always came home with the same results...blurry vision. Tried many different contact and new prescription but the results were always the same ..."blurry vision!" So this year it was time for a change, from a referral from a friend I've found a place in cypress. Cypress Pointe Optometry, the place was extremely clean and welcoming and Dr. Huang was even better. Dr. Huang was friendly and professional. He took his time and explained every procedure thoroughly and in no way did i feel rushed. He also made sure I understood and was comfortable with each test I took. He also made my visit fun and interesting rather than uncomfortable and boring(that's a plus!). When my test was done and it was time to get some new contacts and glasses he was knowledgeable and helpful in choosing my new contacts and glasses. This optometry office is amazing. Dr. Huang greets you with your first name and just makes the whole experience comfortable. I also love how polite and mindful the entire office is. I went in for my annual exam, and I was only going to get a 6-month supply of contacts, because that is what my insurance covered, but Dr. Huang let me know there was a rebate going on that would make a year supply only $20 more. I am not very good at following through on rebates, but the entire office helped me SO MUCH that all I had to do was click a button on an email and they helped with the rest.
